As we reach the last day of Glorious Goodwood & the Galway Festival, there have been some fine performances & some dismal decisions from the stewards. You just know that the new few weeks racing will be back to small field handicaps with very little Each Way value..
Racing needs to sort things out & very quickly!

Charlie makes a welcome return to join Jamie & Rich as Chris is away for the weekend

Charlie – Goodwood 3.20 Stewards Handicap Class 2 over 6f

Selection –Inverpark – 4 year old Gelding out of Pivotal and Red Baton, has had 15 starts winning 5 times, 3 of those wins have came this year at Windsor, Hamilton and Ascot. Has won over 6f and 7f, drops back in trip to 6f today after winning over 7f at Ascot last time out, when beating Ropey Guest by 1 length. If showing same attitude today could easily go in again, biggest threat to the selection comes in the shape of Mr Wagu who has won twice from last 3 starts.

Jamie –

Galway –

3:40 – Bathshack Maiden (3yo+)

Selection: Touching Clouds

A full field of 18 line up for this Maiden over a mile. Dermot Weld loves a winner at Galway and he will have high hopes of adding to his tally with Touching Clouds. This daughter of War Front takes on the boys today after what was an eye-catching debut at Gowran Park in May. She finished off her race well to nab a half length second and any improvement from that run surely gives her a big chance. The form of that Maiden hasn’t worked out too badly with the fourth & fifth winning next time out. The Weld stable are in decent nick and she has a nice draw in stall 2. There is a lot to like.

Rich –

3.20 – Stewards Handicap – Class 2 – 3yo+ – 6f…
Coachella – Dunkerque X Rock Harmonie 4yo gelding.

First run for new trainer having moved to UK from France. He was last seen at Deauville on the All Weather in December 2021 winning a 6 & 1/2F Stakes race by 3 & 1/2 lengths. He has won 5 of his 9 starts with 1 place & is also a Longchamp 7f Listed winner from May 2021, when beating Erasmo.
This is the biggest field he has run in , with the previous being a 14 strong field – Each Way

3.55 – Handicap – Class 2 – 3yo Only – 7f…
Invincible Spirit X Tutu Nguru gelding.

2 wins from 4 starts, all runs over 7fs, with both wins coming on the All Weather at Kempton, In a Class 5 Novice Stakes in November & Class 4 Novice Stakes in December.
He made his seasonal return at Haydock (Soft ground) on July 2nd in a 7f Class 3 Handicap, finishing 2nd to Zero Carbon by a short head…

A big thanks to Neil for chipping in for the first 2 days of the week & to the rest of the chaps for their hard work. Also thanks to you guys for popping in all week, we really do appreciate it..
