Charlie –

Newmarket 2.25 Juddmonte Cheveley Park Stakes (Group 1) over 6f for Fillies

Selection – Sacred Bridge – 2 Year old filly out of Bated Breath and Sacred Shield, has only had 4 career starts so far and has won them all. Won on debut at Naas on the 23rd June when beating Agartha by 1 and 1/2 lengths with Sablonne a further 3/4 of a length behind in 3rd. Was sent to Tipperary on the 30th June and won again beating Misty Air by 1 and 1/4 lengths with Harmony Rose a further length and a half behind in 3rd. Returned to Nass on the 2nd August and beat Bosh by 1/2 length with Ultramarine a further 3/4 of a length behind in 3rd. More recently ran at the Curragh on the 27th August and won again, beating Geocentric by 3 and 3/4 lengths with Ladies Church a further 3/4 of a length behind in 3rd. Sacred Bridge looks the one to beat in this race and if reproducing previous race form could have too much for this field, biggest threat to the selection comes in the shape of Sandrine who has 3 wins and a 2nd from last 4 starts.

.

Ripon 3.30 Noel Hetherton Memorial Handicap over 5f

Selection – Mark’s Choice – 5 year old Gelding out of Bungle inthejungle and Ramamara, has had 35 career starts winning 7 times. Ran here on the 14th August and won by beating Ventura Express by 1 length with Danzan a further head behind in 3rd. Returned to Ripon on the 31st August and was beaten 3/4 of a length into 2nd place by Wade’s Magic with I am a Dreamer a further 3/4 of a length behind in 3rd. More recently was a disappointing 14th at Ayr on latest outing on the 17th September. That run can be forgiven and a return to a track the horse enjoys is a positive, biggest threat to the selection comes in the shape of Coley’s Koko who has won twice in last 6 starts.

.

Rich –

Haydock – Good to Firm
2.05 Handicap – Class 2 – 3yo Plus – 1m….
Nobel Dynasty – Dubawi X Alina 3yo colt.

Half brother to Barny Roy & has been in my tracker from day one. He has 2 runner up spots & 2 wins from his 4 career runs & has only run twice in 2021.
He made his return in April at Newmarket, in a 7f Class 3 Conditions Stakes, finishing a 6 length 2nd to Mutasaabeq before having 144 days off. His last run, which was on September 4th at Thirsk in a Class 3 Handicap, stepping up to 1m finished with a short head win from A Boy Named Ivy. Runs from a mark of 95 & carries 9st 1Lb with a claimer taking 5Lb more of his back…

Newmarket – Good to Firm, Good in Places
3.00 Middle Park Stakes – Group 1 – 2yo Only – 6f..

Asymmetric – Showcasing X Swirral Edge Colt.
3 wins from4 starts, all over 6f. Won twice in Class 4 Novice Stakes, both in June, on debut (June 4th) at Goodwood by 1/2 a length & followed up at Newmarket (June 18th) with a 1 3/4 length victory.
Stepped in to Group 2 company on July 8th in the 6f July Cup Stakes, finishing a head 2nd to Group 2 Gimcrack winner Lusail. Returned to winning ways on July 29th at Goodwood in the Group 2 Richwood Stakes by 1/2 a length from Khunan, with 4th Ebor River landing the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes & 6th, Gis A Sub finished 2nd to Lusail at York.
The colt finished a 1 & 3/4 length 3rd to Perfect Power last time out in the Prix Morny at Deauville on August 22nd… EACH WAY

ICW & Arc Trials at Longchamp

Hello & Welcome to Arseonlineracing….
This website is 100% Independent & has NO affiliate links…

Charlie takes the day off, so it’s Jamie & Rich….. The second day of Irish Champions weekend at the Curragh & Arc Trial days at Paris Longchamp…

And at 7pm tonight, The BIG Interview!

The GOING at…
Curragh – Good, Good to Firm in Places
Longchamp – Good, Good to Firm in Places

Jamie –

Longchamp – 1:33 – Qatar Prix Niel (G2) – Selection: Pretty Tiger

A typically small field heads to post for the 3yo trial for the Arc. Bolshoi Ballet will be the one to beat but I can’t help but feel that he is perhaps vulnerable off a slow pace today and I am going to take a chance on Pretty Tiger. Francois Vermeulen’s charge is enjoying a fine season with figures of 1112612. The pick of his includes a sixth (beaten under 5 lengths) in the Prix Du Jockey Club and a victory in the G2 Prix Eugene Adam. The son of Sea The Moon is improving nicely and could be tough to peg back if given an easy lead under Longchamp specialist Cristophe Soumilion. The step up in trip looks like it will suit okay.

Curragh – 3:30 – Moyglare Stud Stakes (G1) – Selection: Discoveries

The Moyglare is always one of my favourite races on Irish Champions Weekend. This year’s renewal is an open looking one and I like the look of a Jessica Harrington trained half sister to Alpha Centauri. Discoveries is making progress with every run and was perhaps held back on soft ground in the trial race for the Moyglare three weeks ago. Back on good ground today I think she can close the gap on Agartha today from the last day and go well at a decent each way price (7/1 at time of writing). She is open to further progress and the Harrington team are flying at the moment after a fabulous day yesterday. There is a lot going for Discoveries but she will need to take a fair step forward to win today. Agartha is the one to beat.

Curragh – 4:40 – Irish St Leger (G1) – Selection: Search For A Song

This is arguably the strongest Irish Leger that Search For A Song has contested but I can’t see any reason why Dermot Weld’s stayer can’t win it for a third time. Yes, the lack off a prep run is a slight concern but if anybody knows how to ready a horse for the final classic of the Irish flat season, it’s DK Weld. Search For A Song’s last run came at the Curragh in the Tattersalls Gold Cup where she was outpaced and outclassed over 1m 2f. That was preceded by a promising seasonal reappearance at Leopardstown when runner up behind one of today’s opponent’s Emperor Of The Sun. I strongly believe she is better than many of her rivals today and with the ground being in her favour another big performance is on the cards.

Rich –

Curragh –
2.20 Blanford Stakes – Fillies’ & Mares’ Group 2 – 3yo Plus – 1m 2f
Love – Galileo X Pikaboo 4yo filly.

Unbeaten as a 3yo, Love started her 4yo career as she finished the year before when winning the 1m 2f Group 1 Prince of Wales’ Stakes at Ascot by 3/4’s of a length from Audarya. A 3rd to Derby winner Adayar followed in the 1m 4f King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Group 1 at Ascot on July 24th. Her last run was at York in the 1m 2f 56yd Group 1 International Stakes, when finishing 3rd to Mishriff on August 18th.
Back with the girls today & a slight drop in grade…

Longchamp –
3.30 Prix Foy Stakes – Group 2 – 4yo Plus – 1m 4f….

Skalleti – Kendargent X Skallet 6yo gelding.
4 from 4 in 2021 & Skalleti is like a fine wine, who gets better with age. Today he steps up in trip from 1m 2f to 1m 4f. He was a last time out winner, when landing a 1m 2f Group 1 in Munich on July 25th, having won the Group 1 Prix D’ispahan over 1m 1f by a head from Tilsit at this course on May 30th. He is 5 from 5 at this course…

4.40 Prix du Pin Stakes – Group 3 – 3yo Plus – 7f…
Sagamiya – Sea the Moon X Saganiya 4yo filly.
2 wins 7 2 runner up spots from her 4 starts in 2021. A 1m handicap win on season return by 1 & 1/4 lengths over 1m on April 19th was followed up by a 2 length win in a 7f C&D Listed race on May 16th. She stepped up to Group 3 level at Chantilly in the Prix Bertrand Du Breuil over 1m & finished a 3/4’s of a length runner up to Ecrivain before another runner up spot, when stepping up to Group 1 level in the 1m Prix Rothschild on August 3rd & was only just beaten by head from Mother Earth at Deauville…. Drop back in trip.

That is everything for you until 7pm tonight….. Thanks for popping by & for your support, it really means a lot..

All the Best – The Arseonlineracing Team

Doncaster & Leopardstown

Alright…. Welcome to Arseonlineracing..
This website is 100% Independent & has NO affiliate links…

It’s St Leger day at Doncaster & Champion Stakes day at Leopardstown…

The going at…
Doncaster – Good to Soft (Soft in Places)
Leopardstown – Good

Charlie – 2.20 Champagne Stakes (Group 2) Colts and Geldings over 7f 6y

Selection – Lusail– 2 year old Colt out of Mehmas and Diaminda, has had 5 career starts so far winning 4 times and placing 3rd once. The wins have came at York and Newmarket scoring twice at each venue, the 3rd place came at Pontefract. Won on debut at York on the 13th May this year when beating Mattice by 3/4 of a length with Albahr a further length and 3/4 behind in 3rd over 6f on Good Ground. Was 3rd on next start at Pontefract on the 28th May over 6f when finishing 3 and 1/4 lengths behind winner Angel Bleu on Soft Ground. Was stepping up in distance at Newmarket to 7f for next start on the 19th June and won, beating Find by 1 length with Noble Truth a further 3 lengths adrift in 3rd. Returned to Newmarket on the 8th July dropped back to 6f and won again, beating Asymmetric by a head with Sam Maximus a head behind in 3rd on Good to Firm Ground. Returned to York for latest race on the 20th August and won again over 6f when beating Gis a Sub by a length and 1/4 with Twilight Jet a further 3/4 of a length behind in 3rd on Good to Firm Ground. Lusail has been in fantastic form this year and should put up another display, biggest threat to the selection comes in the shape of Reach for The Moon who has won twice and placed 2nd twice from 4 starts.

.3.00 Kazoo Park Stakes (Group 2) over 7f 6y

Selection – Danyah– 4 year old Gelding out of Invincible Spirit and Cuis Ghaire, has ran 11 times winning 4 times and placing 5 times. The wins have came at Nottingham on debut in 2019, Doncaster on 4th start on the 13th June 2020, Haydock on the 26th September 2020 and more recently at Ascot on the 24th July this year when beating Star Of Orion by a short head with Dance Fever a neck behind in 3rd over 7f on Good to Firm Ground. If showing same attitude as last race at Ascot can go in again here, with biggest threat to the selection coming in the shape of D’bai who won a Group 2 at Meydan on the 18th February before running a bit flat at Newbury last time out.

.Jamie –

1:10 – KPMG Champion Juvenile Stakes (G2) – Selection: Maritime Wings

Having found only Pont Lonsdale, (favourite for the National Stakes tomorrow) too strong in his last two races, this represents an ideal opportunity for Maritime Wings to get a group race on his CV. These are calmer waters for Joseph O’Brien’s son of Gleneagles who won his Maiden at this course. There is no horse he faces today that has the ability of a Pont Lonsdale and he brings much the best form coming into this race and the step up to a mile should suit judging by his pedigree. Ground conditions are ideal and on all known form Maritime Wings has a great chance, he is a decent price at 11/4 at the time of writing. Absolute Ruler is a horse I like and can chase the favourite home.

2:45 – Qipco Irish Champion Stakes (G1) – Selection: St Mark’s Basilica

Ireland’s Premier International flat race has drawn another world class field despite there only being four runners. The big trio of St Mark’s Basilica, Tarnawa and Poetic Flare stand there ground with Patrick Sarsfield being the outsider. I was seriously impressed with St Mark’s Basilica at Sandown in the Eclipse where he stormed away to beat Mishriff & Addeybb by over three lengths, showing his trademark lethal turn of foot. He was ruled out of York with a small injury, where Mishiff boosted the Eclipse form with an easy win. the reports from Ballydoyle are that he is back to full fitness and ready to run a huge race today. Tarnawa may make the running and will be a tough nut to crack, along with 2000 Guineas hero Poetic Flare. Perhaps crucially Dermot Weld’s Filly has to give 3lbs to my selection today. Good ground will allow the Ballydoyle star to maximise his turn of foot. This is a race to saviour!

Rich –

Doncaster –
1.45 – Portland Handicap – Class 2 – 3yo Plus – 5f 143yds….
Copper Knight – Sir Prancealot X Mystic Dream 7yo gelding.

Has been in fine form this season with 2 wins & 3 places from his 10 runs. He finished runner up at this course over 5f in a Class 3 handicap on August 5th before winning at York in a 5f 89yd Class 2 handicap on August 18th. A runner up last time out ( September 4th) beaten by a head at Haydock in a Class 2 5f handicap by Mondammej, – EACH WAY (Some bookies paying EXTRA places)

Leopardstown –
1,40 Matron Stakes – Fillies’ & Mares’ Group 1 – 3yo Plus – 1m….
Mother Earth – Zoffany X Many Colours 3yo filly.

Since winning the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket at the start of her season, the filly has finished on the top 3 in her next 4 races, winning once more. She was 2nd at Longchamp in the Group 1 Poule D’Essai Pouliches, 3rd in the Coronation Cup at Ascot & 2nd in the Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket before landing win number 2 of 2021 in Deauville on August 3rd in the Group 1 Prix Rothschild by a head.
Falmouth Stakes form is very nice, with Alcohol Free (3rd) & Lady Bowthorpe (4th) both landing Group 1 races…..

Thanks for popping by, we really appreciate your support…
Tomorrow the BIG Interview… 7pm….

Prix Moulin Day at Longchamp

Bonjour…. Welcome to Aresonlineracing…
The 100% independent racing website with NO affiliate links…..

A quick re-cap of yesterday with Rich landing the only blog winner with Top Secret, SP 5/1…
Jamie & Rich have the card at Longchamp covered, which is held 1 month before the Arc at the same course. Next weekend we have the St Leger from Doncaster & soon enough it will be the start of the National Hunt season… After Champions Day of course!

I know the rest of the Team were delighted with the Arseonlineracing/Twitter National Hunt horses to follow, so we will be doing the same this year, so if you want to get involved, DM @FunkyAOL on Twitter….

Anyway on to today at Paris Longchamp…. The GOING is… Good

Jamie –

1:33 – Prix Du Prince D’Orange (G3)

Selection: Highland Avenue

This is one of the lesser known ‘Arc’ trials over the 10F trip. Charlie Appleby has a strong strike rate in France and Highland Avenue is dropping down a Grade today, so it may be worth backing the Godolphin horse. The son of Dubawi has won 4 of his 7 career races to date with a Newmarket listed win over 9F in May being his biggest success to date.
He ran with credit in the St James’ Palace when finishing sixth, these are much calmer waters today but he still needs to step up on his recent form. I am hoping he can build on his first race over today’s 10F trip at Deauville in a G2, that was a respectable effort and he looks ready to capture a race of this stature. I give him a big chance. The one to beat is Saiydabad, who has won 3 of his 5 races to date. UNPLACED

2:48 – Prix Du Moulin (G1)

Selection: Snow Lantern

Perhaps this isn’t the strongest Prix Du Moulin ever seen but it remains no less fascinating. Baaeed has been all the rage in the market after a devastating win at Goodwood last time out. That was at G3 level though and with Snow Lantern being proven at the top level I am going to side with Richard Hannon’s Falmouth winner. Snow Lantern has been performing well so far this season and did her reputation no harm when finishing third in the Sussex Stakes last time out.
The form of that Falmouth Stakes is working out very well with Mother Earth, Alcohol Free and Lady Bowthorpe winning G1 races next time out. She can make her presence felt today with her 4lb weight allowance. There could still be more to come from the popular grey. The trip and ground are fine. Order Of Australia ran very well in the Prix Jacques La Marois a few weeks ago and rates as a worthy outsider against the top two in the market. UNPLACED

Rich –

2.15 Handicap – 4yo Plus – 1m 1f 43yds….
Salesman – Dubawi X High Maintenance 4yo gelding.
2 wins in 2021. Won at Saint-Cloud over 1m 2f 96yds in May & again at Deauville on the All Weather over 1m 1f 110yds by 1 & 3/4 lengths, both in handicaps.
Was a runner up last time out to Lauderdale, who was favourite by 3/4’s of a length, again at Deauville (AW) on August 22nd… 3rd

4.00 Handicap – 3yo Only – 7f….
Oasis Cove – Oasis Dream X Hidden Cove 3yo filly.
Former George Baker runner, who moved to France at the end of 2020, having had 3 runs & was still a maiden. Made a winning debut in France on July 13th in a 7f handicap at Le Lion D’angers by 1/2 a length. Won again on July 31st in a 7f handicap at La Test De Buch by 1/2 a length before finishing runner up last time out (August 18th) in a 7f handicap at Dax, beaten 2 & 1/2 lengths by Listed winner, Citadelle & the 3rd has since won….. Each Way4th(Some paying 4 places)

That’s everything for you today folks… Thanks for popping by & for your continued support, we really appreciate it.

Here, There & Almost Everywhere….

Hello folks…. Welcome one & all to Arseonlineracing…

.

Haydock Park

The 3 of us, Charlie, Jamie & Rich have had a look around the many cards available today & have found a few that we like….

Charlie –

.

Ascot 3.10 Lavazza Stakes Handicap

.

Selection – Wahraan – 3 year old Colt out of Le Havre and Al Jassasiya, has had 7 career starts winning twice and placing 2nd twice. The first of the 2nd places came at Windsor on the 12th April this year when beaten 1 and 1/4 lengths by Lord Protector over 1m 2f on Good ground. Was 2nd again on the 13th May at Salisbury when beaten 1/2 length by Lord Protector over 1m 1f 201y on Soft Ground. Wahraan gained 1st victory on next start when beating Pennymoor by 1 and 3/4 lengths at Pontefract on the 6th July over 1m 2f 5y on Soft Ground. Wahraan won again on next start on the 24th July at Newmarket when beating Big Kitten by 5 and 1/2 lengths over 1m 2f on Good To Firm Ground. Was 5th on latest run at York when short of room 1f from home behind winner Migration but was only beaten around 2 lengths in total. With a clearer run today is taken to get back Into the winners enclosure with the biggest danger to the selection coming in the shape of Chalk Stream who has won last 2 starts for William Haggas.

.

Haydock 4.05Betfair Be Friendly Handicap

.

Selection – Jawwaal – 6 Year old Gelding out of Bahamian Bounty and Avenbury. Has had 29 career starts winning 6 times and placing in a further 6 races. The wins have came at Lingfield and Kempton back in 2018, Doncaster and Ascot in 2020 and more recently at Doncaster on the 13th June this year and on the 2nd July at the same venue. Beat Caspian Prince by a short head over 5f 3y on Good To Firm Ground on 13th June. Beat Nomadic Empire by 1 length over 5f 3y on Good To Firm Ground on the 2nd July. Has finished 5th at Ascot and 4th at York on both starts since then although was only a 1/2 length a neck and a head behind winner Copper Knight at York last time out. This race looks easier and is taken to gain another win today with the biggest threat to the selection coming in the shape of Atalis Bay who has won 2 times from last 4 starts.

.

Jamie –

Kempton Park:

2:05 – Unibet Sirenia Stakes (G3)

Selection: Hierarchy

An interesting little G3 in prospect here with the unbeaten (2/2) Hierarchy being one of my strongest selections of the weekend. Hugo Palmer’s Colt, a son of Mehmas has produced the goods so far and looks well worth a crack at Group 3 level. He opened his account last month at Wolverhampton on debut and the third has since followed up on the turf at Bath next time out. Hierarchy went up to class 4 level to contest a Novice Stakes at Salisbury which he duly won in nice style, running on well to the line. This is obviously a step up in class and he needs to up his game but I believe he represents some value against the favourites. Oisin Murphy takes the ride again and with his confidence high Hierarchy has to have a good chance. Wings Of War and debut winner Scot’s Grace are the main dangers.

Ascot:

4:20 – British EBF Premier Fillies Handicap

Selection: Star Seeking

I am hoping it is second time lucky today with Star Seeking. I put my horse to follow for the 2021 flat season up on the blog a few weeks ago and was narrowly denied on the Chelmsford AW. The return to Turf today on good ground will suit her better, as will the step back up to a mile. This daughter of Gleneagles is still unexposed and more improvement is very likely, especially being a Sir Michael Stoute inmate. Ryan Moore in the saddle is another boost too and she still looks well handicapped. Star Seeking holds a strong chance today. The big danger is another unexposed stablemate in Sunrise Valley, who is 2/3 so far. The bottom weight State Of Occasion could be a solid each way option.

Rich –

Cheeky Treble..
Haydock – 1.45 – Superior Mile(Group 3) LORD GLITTERS
Kempton(AW) – 2.40 – September Stakes(Group 3) HUKUM
Haydock – 3.30 – Sprint Cup Stakes(Group 1) STARMAN

Ascot – Good, Good to Firm in places…
3.45 Handicap – Class 2 – 3yo Plus – 7f…
Top Secret – Anjaal X Just Devine 4yo gelding.

Moved yards at the end of 2020 & was still a maiden. Started 2021 with a pair of unplaced runs at Leicester, 7f class 4 handicap from a mark of 75 on June 7th, finishing 7th & again at Newbury on June 22nd, in a class 3 handicap over 7f, finishing 4th.
Ran over C&D on July 10th in a class 4 handicap & finally broke his maiden tag, winning by a neck from Spanish Star, with a mark of 72. He then finished a neck 2nd on July 30th in a 7f class 4 handicap at Newmarket & his last run, on August 13th at Newbury, over 1m in a class 4 handicap finished as a runner up by a nose to Neenee’s Choice. Drops back in trip & is up in class from a mark of 82….

Thanks for popping by & for your continued support. We hope you all enjoyed our recent Interview with former NH jockey Graham Bradley…
