Busy Saturday….. Irish Derby anyone??

Newmarket

Welcome to arseonlinetips, a 100% Independent racing blog brought to you from either end of the British Isles… From Glasgow to the Isle of Wight!

Yesterday was a bit like after the Lord’s Mayors show, with Charlie’s Full House on Thursday, we were left with a day of what could have been, but we are not deterred and regular reader’s, will know, that we always go again and Saturday is no different.

Charlie landed the Epsom Oaks and Derby winners earlier this month and today is Irish Derby day… You never know! So as usual, he brings you his Saturday Selection’s and Rich has Final Word, so let’s get down to business…

Charlie – Well Friday certainly wasn’t what I had planned, my first selection Desert Dream finished a disappointing 6th. My 2nd selection Our Little Pony lost by a neck after looking like the winner, before being hampered in closing stages a more experienced jock would have won. My final selection Magnolia Springs Finished a disapointing 7th making it a complete wipe out profit wise. Saturday is another day and selections for today are listed below.

2018-06-30-11-20-38

.Tabarrak – Has won twice and placed twice from last 5 starts and sets a decent standard here. Although was 3rd last time out at  Haydock behind Dbai and Larchmont lad, that was a tough race although Tabarrak was only a neck behind Larchmont Lad in that race and could easily overturn that here with a similar run.

2018-06-30-11-21-56

.On Fire – Won at Ripon two starts back over 2m in a Class 5 handicap, was upped in grade for recent Class 3 handicap at Musselburgh and finished 5th. Trainer has 25% strike rate in last 14 days whilst jock has a 27% success rate at Chester. This points to a big run from On Fire and let’s hope he scorches his way into the winners enclosure.

2018-06-30-11-23-16

.Jan Van Eyck – Won here last time out from out of the handicap, raced off 77 then but now races off 76 and if repeating that run from 3 weeks ago will be hard to beat. Same jock onboard today and another bold display can’t be discounted here and gets my vote as the likeliest winner.

Win Advised

.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now pass you over to Rich for The Final Word.

.

Rich’s Final Word –

I have a fair bit to go through today, so please bear with me… Wiff Waff, was let’s say very disappointing and Insurgence, is going to be a All Weather horse and will go into the AW tracker…

Now as I mentioned, it is very busy, which is standard for a Saturday and we don’t really understand why all these meetings could not be spread out a bit more over the weeks.

Enough of the moaning, let’s get on with what I have in store for you! One from Newcastle(AW) and one from Newmarket, with the rest from the Curragh!

The one I like at Newcastle(AW) is on ITV Racing and it’s Yafta(12.55) in the Chipchase Stakes(Group 3) 6f. Yafta has only finished unplaced once and that was on debut. Since returning for the season form figures read 2/1/2. Beaten  by a head last time out on June 9th in a 7f C2 Handicap at Newmarket. Has won at Chelmsford on only AW start

While over at Newmarket, in the 2.55 Fred Archer Stakes, Class 1 Listed over 1m 4f. Second Step, likely to be a warm favourite, finished runner up on seasonal return to the sensational Crystal Ocean by 6 lengths and was also runner up on final start last term to Desert Encounter in a Newbury Group 3 although I think Crimson Rosette for Charlie Fellowes will give Second Step something to think about after out running her 14/1 odds in the Pinnicle Stakes(G3) at Haydock after stepping up from Class 3 company, I think these two will be a lot closer at the finish….

Right it’s off to the Curragh for Irish Derby day( we will get to that in due course) but we will start with the Maiden at 1.40, for 2yo Only over 6f and Aidan O’Brien unleashes yet another Scat Daddy Colt – Mount Tabora, who is half brother to J Wonder and Chachamaidee and cost $750,000 as a foal!

Fleet Review(Yes another AOB runner) is 2/3 over C/D and run’s in the 2.50 Dash Listed Stakes over 6f. Although a disappointing 15th of 22 at Royal Ascot he had previously finished a 1 & 1/4 length runner up to stable companion Sioux Nation in a 6f Group 3 at Naas(with Tongue Tie) Having run at Ascot with no Tongue Tie it is refitted today and Ryan Moore prefers Fleet Review over stable companion Full Moon.

The Railway Stakes(4.35) Group 2 for 2yo Only over 6f features one I have tracked since debut and yes, it is another Aidan O’Brien Scat Daddy Colt! Van Beethoven… Since winning at Naas has finished runner up over C/D to Fairyland and was 4th at Royal Ascot last week and Ryan Moore is on board but saying this there is one, at a decent Each Way price that could hit the frame – Invincible Karma for Jessica Harrington. 3rd on debut and improved to finish runner up by 1/2 a length over C/D in a maiden and that race has had 2 winners from it, so you never know!

The Irish Derby – Group 1 Class 1 – 3yo Only – 1m 4f

This race see’s Epsom Derby favourite Saxon Warrior renew battle with Derby runner up Dee Ex Bee. The hot favourite finished 4th at Epsom, some 3 lengths behind the runner up and both are entitled to come on for that race too, with Saxon seemingly still a touch green and Dee Ex Bee certainly out running the form(Like Masar did too, if we are honest) so with Saxon likely to be odds on for this, where do we go without the Favourite? As mentioned Dee Ex Bee, has been runner up in last two starts and has not won since landing a Class 2 contest. Another Epsom Derby runner, who has headed over the Irish sea is Knight to Behold, who went off really keen at Epsom after landing the Lingfield Derby Trail(Frankie Detorri on board today) and is likely to finished a lot closer than that day at Epsom. I have mentioned Rostropovich, a few times in this section and fresh from his runner up spot last week at Ascot, can give another good account for Aidan O’Brien. Another who ran at Ascot last week is from the Epsom Derby winning team of Charlie Appleby & William Buick, Old Persian, who won at Ascot to take his wins this term to 3 from the last 4 runs and if this doesn’t come to soon for both Old Persian &  Rostropovich, they two could be in the mix. It is in intriguing race and one to enjoy. If I was pushed to pick two, I think I will stick with Knight to Behold, to out run his odds and Dee Ex Bee to finally get back in the Winner’s Enclosure!

Today’s Tracker –

IMG_20180629_185652.jpg

As we said at the start, a lot to go through and to be honest, we have only scratched the surface of the racing today… But if you have read this far, Corinthian Knight runs at Woodbine tonight and we will certainly be cheering on for Archie Watson and the On To a Winner team(All the Best)….

No cookie’s this week as Charlie has been eating Steak after his full house, while Rich is on Pizza(Hahaha)

Please only bet what you can afford to lose, if not then watch the racing on TV and it should be a corking day.

Also the Interviews are returning on Sunday evening… Yes this is an EXCLUSIVE!

All the Best – Charlie & Rich

1- 2 – 3 for Charlie = FULL HOUSE!

Doncaster Racetrack
Doncaster

Welcome to arseonlinetips, a 100% Independent blog with NO AFFILIATE links. From Glasgow to the Isle of Wight, run by2 racing enthusiast’s hoping to give you our thoughts for the days racing and take a few quid from the bookie’s…. And boy, did Charlie do that yesterday…. Not 1 winner, nope not 2 winners but a FULL HOUSE 3 from 3, all for Free! That is something money cannot buy! Top stuff & now it’s time to crack on with today’s blog…. Let’s kick off as usual with Charlie’s Selection’s…..

Charlie -Wheres Jeff won as expected advised at 4-1 drifted to 6-1 kicking the day off in fine style.

Tahreeq won as expected advised at 9-4 returned at 3-1 ensuring profit for the day with one tip remaining.

Choral Music won as expected advised at 4-1 returned at 5-1 to bring home the full house and capped off a remarkable day.

What a day yesterday was to hit 3 winners from 3 selections is remarkable, and even more so when you have been close to hitting a full house on several occasions in the same month. Now the difficult part begins trying to replicate that before the month draws to a close. Anyway enough about yesterday that’s in the past now let’s crack on with Friday’s selections listed below.

Charlie’s Selections

2018-06-29-12-19-40

.Desert Dream – Although hasn’t won since May 2017 when winning over 1m at Windsor was with M Stoute then but has since changed hands, now with M Easterby, desert dream had wind surgery before his last run here when staying on late to Finnish 4th some 3 and 1/4 lengths behind Brother McGonagall over 1m. Should be Sharper for that run and if repeating that here that could be enough to take this race.

Win Asvised

.

2018-06-29-12-26-40

.Hasn’t been in the best of form of late but has slipped further down the handicap and is coupled with a 7lb claimer in the shape of Faye McManoman, this may be a bit of shot in the dark but with easing of Mark and jocks claim certainly gives Our Little Pony a chance and if it’s going to win today is the best chance it’s had in a while.

Win Advised

2018-06-29-12-28-46

.Has won twice from 4 starts when winning a Class 1 Listed race over 1m 2f at Goodwood last time out. That 2 and 3/4 length victory over Shaherezada looks nice now. This is a slightly deeper race but still looks progressive enough to go in again here with a similar display.

Win Advised

.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you over to Rich for The Final Word.

.

Rich’s Final Word –

Before I mention yesterday and look forward to today, what a fantastic day it was for Charlie, 3 from 3 is a top, top effort and to get 3 is fantastic, it’s hard enough to get 1 from 3 but wow, he pulled the guinea pig from the hat and landed it… Top Stuff Charlie

After the 2 from 2 on Wednesday, it was a place and a 4th yesterday. Federal Law is going in the Tracker and will be noted the next time he runs….

That was yesterday and now on to tomorrow and we have 2 from Yarmouth…

In the opening race at 2.10, a 5f Handicap for 3yo Only Class 5 we have Wiff Waff(No not the Boris Johnson Ping Pong gaff from a few years ago) who has not won since January at Newcastle on the AW but was a decent runner up last time out, when finishing 1/2 length behind Bomad in a C5 Handicap at Leicester and the winner has since won again…

While in the 4.40 Nursery Class 2 Handicap for 2yo Only over 1m, we have Insurgence. After being 0/3 on the Turf last season he was gelded during the winter and made a winning return this season. In fact Insurgence has won 3 of the last 4 runs all on the All Weather and has only been beaten by Silver Plate winner Crack On Crack On(Noted in this blog). Won at Kempton(AW) last time out and now is tried on the Turf again. Hopefully will take this time and have too much for his rivals….

Once again, we would like to Thank everyone for taking the time to read our blog and your support, we really appreciate it.

All the Best – Charlie & Rich

img_20161102_192701

Welcome to arseonlinetips, a 100% Independent racing blog, brought to you from either end of the British Isles or to be more precise From Glasgow to the Isle of Wight! It was nice to return to the blog with a few winners after a few days away…. It’s back to business as usual with Charlie’s Selection’s and Rich’s Final Word. So let’s kick things off with Charlie…..

Charlie – just the one winner from my 3 selections on Wednesday in Prairie Spy hopefully get more of the same with Thursday’s Selections listed below.

.

2018-06-28-07-57-27.jpg

.Although yet to win but has shown some promise, most notably 3 runs back at Musselburgh when finishing 2nd over 5f. Went up In distance for next two races and finished 9th over 7f at Wolverhampton then finished 4th over 1m at Ripon, yard are doing great at the moment and it’s only a matter of time before this one wins.

Win Advised

.

2018-06-28-07-55-41

.Although hasn’t won as yet has been unlucky of late especially at Kempton when finishing 5th over 7f in April this year behind Primo Sole, the 3rd and 6th from that race have since won, although Tahreek couldn’t capitalise on that next time out at Haydock when pulling too hard finishing 4th over 7f. If settling better today should have enough to win here in a weak looking race.

Win Advised

.

2018-06-28-07-49-40

.Has won 3 races from last 5 starts from 7f – 1m, and she won at Lingfield last time out beating Jazzy Girl by a neck. Has been raised 4lb for that win and if repeating that here should be good enough to go in again.

Win Advised

.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you over to Rich for The Final Word.

.

Rich’s Final Word –

It was great for both of my finding’s to win yesterday and let’s hope for more of the same today….. We have one from Newmarket on the turf and one from the All Weather at Newcastle…

So we will start on the turf at Newmarket with the 2.40 Class 4, 6f Handicap for 3yo Only. I like Spring Romance, who since returning for the season is on a fine run of form. Having had 5 runs, winning 4 times including last time out on the AW at Lingfield, over 6f in a Class 5 Handicap by 2 & 1/4 lengths and the runner up has since won. The race prior yielded another win, but on the turf at Windsor under this Jockey Jack Duern, who is 3 wins from 4 mounts and the other the pair were runner up……

And on the All Weather at Newcastle, we welcome a Scat Daddy colt, who makes his debut in the 3.05 Class 4 Novice Stakes for 2yo Only over 6f. Federal Law, cost $220,000 as a yearling and is out of a Canadian Mare called Gravelly Buy, who herself was a half sister to a Canadian Grade 2 winner. His trainer Archie Watson, has a 25% SR with his 2yo in 2018…..

Thank you for popping by and for all your support, we really appreciate it

2018-06-27-13-32-10

Due to teething problems this morning the blog had to be reworked and therefore had no time to complete my write-ups for Wednesday’s selections, i apologise for this and with any luck normal service will resume tomorrow.

.

Rich’s Final Word

After a nice weekend away, I  am on my way to recovering from the excess that a Music Festival brings. I will be easing my way back in gently, starting today with TWO from Salisbury…

Oberyn Martell (3.10) was runner up on Doncaster 5f debut to Victory Command(who has won again and also placed in TWO class 2 contests) before landing a Sandown 5f Novice Stakes on June 15th by 1 & 1/2 lengths. Now steps up an extra furlong in trip…..

And Okool (4.40) returned a 5 length 4th in a 1m 4f York Class 4 and now tackles 1m 6f for the first time. The reason I noted it was because Okool has won on the 2nd start after the last two breaks….

I would like to Thank Chris Price & Ray for helping out while I was away and to Charlie for holding the fort. The band is back together now, so we best start writing some tunes!

Thanks for your support and for reading our blog…. No cookies today!

All the Best – Charlie & Rich

Sunday Service

th

Good morning and welcome to another edition of Arseonline. Yesterday was a bit of a let down tipping wise Chris hit a blank as did Ray on his first day on blog. I had one winner from the 3 selections I put up to give us something to cheer about. Today it’s just me and Ray so let’s crack on with Sunday’s selections.

Ray’s Selections

Worcester 3.40 Litterale Ci 7-1 -Has won 3 races from last 5, latest win at Ffos Las came over 2m 4f in a Class 3 handicap has gone up 7lb for that win but jock claims 7lb wiping that extra weight out and looks progressive enough to get involved here.

Win Bet Advised

.

Worcester 4.10 Stuccodor 16-1 -Has won 2 on the spin although they were at both Class 5 races at Huntingdon over 2m. Is now 20lb higher since that first win and could still be progressive enough to at least get a place here and at 16-1 is a nice price.

Eachway Bet Advised

.

Pontefract 5.00 Bibbidibobbidiboo 6-1 -Winner of last 2 starts at Catterick over 6f and Musselburgh over 7f,goes up in grade here but looks progressive enough to get involved and would be no surprise if she landed the hat-trick today.

Win Bet Advised

.

Charlie’s Selections

Worcester 2.40 Ballinure 7-2 -Trained by Champion Trainer Nicky Henderson, Ballinure has won twice from last 5 starts, goes well fresh and latest victory came at Towcester in May over 2m 3f in a Class 3 handicap hurdle. Receives 5lb today and has had another wind op since that run last month and should still be progressive enough to be involved here in this slightly deeper race.

Win Advised

.

Gowran Park 3.05 That Is The Spirit 6-1 – Won here at Gowran Park last time out over 7f and although is now 5lb heavier in a slightly tougher race it could easily go in again, there is only one other last time out winner in this race and that comes in the shape of Have A Nice Day who won at Limerick over 1m. But my preference is for That Is The Spirit to go in again especially having won here before.

Win Advised

.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket.

We don’t have Rich today but he has sent a tracker over and that is included in the image below.

Thanks for your continued support from the whole team at Arseonlinetips.

A week to Remember. Royal Ascot’s Final Day……

Ascot2

Hello everybody, Welcome to arseonlinetips. A 100% Independent racing blog from either end of the United Kingdom. We maybe miles apart, but we share the same passion for racing….

Let’s see what we have for you on a busy Saturday, Rich is away and wrote Final Word on Wednesday, Chris has his Ascot Selections, Charlie has his usual slot and we also have a guest Tipster for this weekend Ray who is a friend of ours , his Twitter handle is @justRaymondo if you want to give him a follow . It’s a busy blog on a Saturday so let’s cut to the chase and get the show on the road.

Charlie – Unfortunately my 3 selections all lost yesterday bringing my winning run to an abrupt end, hopefully get back on track with Saturday’s Selections listed below.

Pickamix – (Perth 15:45)Has hinted of a return to form last few runs even though 3m doesn’t seem to be the optimum distance, drops back to 2m 7f and if repeating the run shown over that distance at Worcester last October when 2nd and that may be enough to land this race.

Win Advised

.
Mrs Gallagher – (Ayr 16:10) Won at Bath and Naas both over 5f before disapointing at Haydock in a Class 1 Group 2 race over 5f last time out. Back down in Class and has to be respected given it won twice in this grade prior to that blip at Haydock.

Win Advised

.
Buridan – (Newmarket 17:20)Lightly raced having had just the 3 runs so far. Won on debut at Windsor over 6f in June last year. Was then sent to Chester and finished 5th in a Class 4 Auction race over 5f. Was then sent back to Windsor over 6f in a Class 5 race and finished 2nd. Makes handicap debut here and looks reasonably treated on previous form and wouldn’t be a surprise if it wins here.

Win Advised

.Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket, I will now hand you over to Chris for his Ascot selections, before Ray gives his views on his selections and finishing off with Rich’s Last Word.

.

Chris Price’s Ascot Selections

Nap: Moonlight Romance – Windsor Castle Stakes – Every Wesley Ward runner at this meeting over the minimum trip has to be feared and I backed this precocious filly at 6/1 to win after stablemate Chang Chang Chang won the Norfolk Stakes on Thursday. Moonlight Romance was a close 2nd behind that one on debut before getting off the mark at Belmont last month. She will likely take a lot of pegging back from the front.
.
NB: The Tin Man – Diamond Jubilee Stakes – This years renewal looks a very hot race with Harry Angel heading the betting from the unknown Australian sprinters Redkirk Warrior and Merchant Navy, now with Ballydoyle. However I’m going for last years winner The Tin Man, who should relish the conditions. His recent record on a surface of good or faster reads 111181 with the only blip coming when he wasn’t quite right in the July Cup. At a current price of 8/1 he is a value each-way bet.

Ray

Ayr 3.30 Balestra 4/1 Has won 2 on the spin since joining new yard both over 7f, was a winner over 1m when with C Hills and a return to this distance shouldn’t be a problem, wears cheekpieces for first time here and that is another positive.

Win Bet

.

Newmarket 2.45 Max Liebermann 11/2

Game winner last time out at Yarmouth over 1m 3f although only won by a head the first 2 were well clear of the rest, only other win came in a Jumpers Bumper over 2m so the 1m 6f today should be within grasp.

Win Bet

.

Newmarket 5.55 Beachwalk 2/1

Has won last 2 races at Lingfield and Yarmouth both over 7f with visor fitted. Is now 8lb higher than first of those wins and wears first time blinkers here and that could help with the hat-trick bid.

Win Bet

.

Perth 5.40 Morning with Ivan 11/4

Has won 5 of her last 7 starts, and completed hat-trick with a course and distance victory last month, has gone up another 4lb for that win and wouldn’t be an upset if she goes in again here.

Win Bet

.

Rich’s Final Word –

I am writing this on Wednesday evening and if any of these are Non Runners, you have my apologies in advance. Right let’s get down to business….

In the opening race 2.30 Chesham Stakes, C1 Listed for 2yo Only over 7f and I have taken a shine to the two Australia Fillies’. Godolphin’s Beyond Reason, who was a 2 length runner up on debut on debut over 6f at Newmarket before winning by 4 lengths on the All Weather at Kempton in a C5 Fillies’ Novice Stakes on June 6th, up in trip today… And the other Australia Filly is Aussie View, who finally got off the mark on her 3rd run and 1st try over 7f by landing a C5Fillies’ Novice Stakes at Doncaster on June 17th….

We have seen a warm favourite turned over(Cracksman) will it happen today in the Hardwicke Stakes(3.05) Group 2 over 1m 4f? Crystal Ocean is 2 from 2 so far this season after landing the Gordon Richard(Group 3) at Sandown and the following it up in the AL Rayyan Stakes(Group 3) by 6 lengths last time out, now takes a step up in class but if we dismiss Defoe’s last run at the Curragh, we may just have a cracking finish on our hands as he drops from Group 1 to Group 2… Add Barsanti to the mix, who like Crystal Ocean is an improver after his Listed Stakes win on season return and with 4th in the race winning a Group 3 next time out isn’t to be taken lightly!

Diamond Jubilee Stakes(4.20) 6f Group 1 and I am interested in the All Weather Championships 6f Winner City Lights. The French raider having won on season return and in April at Lingfield, he has notched a Group 3 wins since at Longchamp by 1& 1/2 lengths from Gold Vibe. The reason being is that Harry Angel, is 0-3 at ascot and that does not breed confidence… The Tin Man, Fresh from win on season return, could spring a surprise….

And finally from Royal Ascot 2018, the Wokingham Stakes(5.00), Class 2 over 6f.. and it’s Dreamfield that get’s the nod. 3 from 3 starts, including a season return over C/D in a Class 3 6f Handicap and has improved for each run since…..

Saturday’s Trackers

That concludes our Royal Ascot coverage for 2018. We would like to thank Chris Price, for his daily thoughts and we look forward to working with him again very soon. Also a big thank you to all you readers for popping in and giving us your support. Rich will return next week….  Did you spot the Cookies I left all week?? Enjoy the racing & remember, if you cannot afford to bet, just watch!

All the Best – Charlie, Chris & Rich

Royal Ascot – Day 4 (Friday)

Ascot2

Blimey, we have reached day 4 of the 5 day festival, we have had some expected winners and some unexpected winners, what will day 4 hold for us all? Hopefully some cracking racing and some sunning performances.. What colour will the Queen be wearing today?? Sorry, were not ITV fashion guru’s(Hahaha) Lets crack on with the racing!

What a day we had yesterday…. Charlie at the Double, Chris Price landed a winner and Wow! Final Word… 1-2 in the 2.30 followed by 2 for the first 3 in the Gold Cup…. Same again today??!!

Here’s Charlie, with a run down and Selections before Chris Price gives his thoughts and Rich, who is at the Isle of Wight Festival has the Final Word!

Charlie – Before we get onto todays selections let’s have a recap on how my 3 runners got on Yesterday.

Alfarris -Won as expected advised at 4-1

Vintage Brut -Finished 9th and was a loss.

Itlaaq -Won as expected advised at 6-1

.No double figure winners from me yesterday but did land a nice double at 4-1 + 6-1 so can’t complain too much. We move onto Friday’s races and my thoughts and selections for those are listed below.

Elhafei (Newmarket 19:30) Trained by J Gosden and has only raced a handful of times, wore cheekpieces for first time at Yarmouth over 7f last time out and finished 2nd by 3 lengths to Beachwalk. The cheekpieces are left off today but are replaced by first time Blinkers and if they bring any improvement could easily figure here as breeding suggests it’s better than what’s been shown so far.

Win Advised

.
Parole (Ayr 19:40)Won at Redcar last time out over 1m 2f in a Class 4 handicap. Yard are absolutely flying at the moment and wouldn’t be a surprise if Parole goes in again as Rachel Richardson had a double figure winner for T Easterby last night at Ripon.

Win Advised

.
Forever Field (Market Rasen 15:55) Trained by Champion Trainer Nicky Henderson, beat Black Corton this time last year before posting 2 poor results at Ludlow over 3m and Kempton over 2m 4f. Has been rested since that run at Kempton and makes seasonal return here, if fully switched on and completely over the two previous poor efforts still can get involved here in a wide open race that looks winnable.

Win Advised

.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you over to Chris for his Ascot Selections before Rich has the last say in Final Word.

.

Chris Price’s Royal Ascot selections

Nap: Sioux Nation
Commonwealth Cup – I’ve long been a fan of this Scat Daddy colt and I’m backing him to add to his Norfolk Stakes success from last season. He ran them ragged in the Lacken Stakes last time out and with conditions to suit, I’m expecting a very big run.
.
.
Each-Way: Top Tug –
Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes – Placed in the race last year, I’m going for Elite Racing’s Top Tug to repeat the trick, at the very least. Connections decided to abort his hurdle career and gave him a long winter break to keep him fresher for this summer. He runs off the same mark when a close 2nd on reappearance at Goodwood and must be a player if building on that.

Thanks Guys, Rich has been leaving messages in the blog! Have you found them??? Anyway, here he is with his Final Word…..

Rich’s Final Word –

If your reading this, then I am at the Isle of Wight Festival & this was written well before the day,….Let’s get on with this then….

when I looked at the cards earlier this week, Ex Dee Bee was entered in the 3.05 King Edward VII Stakes, Group 2 for 3yo Only over 1m 4f, sadly removed, so I have had another look and this is my conclusion….Aidan O’Brien is armed with 3 live chances in this race and has now bounced back to form so my preference of the 3 would be the Frankel Colt Rostropovich, who won the Chester Dee Stakes and was a 5 length 9th in the Prix Du Jockey Club(French Derby) last time out. He steps up in trip again today and the tongue tie is returned, which he wore at Chester… Although it wouldn’t be a surprise if Raa Atoly, the John Gosden/Frankie Dettori Sea the Stars colt run very well, having been a runner up on debut and has since won his last 2, including a 2 length win in a C3 Novice Stakes(1m 4f) at Leicester and takes a big step up in class, he is very capable of making waves in this race…

In the Commonwealth Cup(3.40) Group 1 for 3yo Only over 6f, it could be a case of who gets the best run wins I think, with Sands of Mali  and Invincible Army locking horns again, these too won’t be too far away at the finish. USA raider Gidu, could surprise a few and then there is always Main Desire for Michael Bell, who is 3/3 and unbeaten and won a Listed race last time out from Hey Jonesy at York…. Difficult race to call this – Good Luck!

And the other I like today is running in the Sandringham(Fillies’ Handicap) class 2 for 3yo Only run over 1m and it’s Ganayem, who is two from two this term. Owen Burrow’s Frankel filly improved for the step up to 1m , winning at Nottingham in a C5 Novice Stakes by 1 & 1/4 lengths and the 3 behind her that day have all since won, including 2 winning listed contests. The second win was at Goodwood over 1m in a C5 fillies’ Novice race by 1 length from Constructive and deserves this step up in class….

Royal Ascot – Record Breaking Day Two… What will we have on Day Three?

Ascot2

Welcome to arseonlinetips, a 100% Independent racing blog…

As we enter day 3 of the Royal Ascot extravaganza, with the first two days behind us and what fantastic performances we have seen from Aidan O’Brien having the first 3 home in the Queens Vase, Sir Michael Stoute breaking the Royal Ascot record as Poets Word beat Cracksman and Expert Eye, with a barnstorming win in finale.

Today we have Charlie’s Selection’s, a couple of selection’s from Chris Price and Rich’s Final Word, so lets Crack On…..

Charlie -Well yesterday was a bit of a mixed bag for my main 3 selections, my Nap Competition was 3rd my Nb Emaraaty ran no sort of race and finished 6th last. My 3b Storm Over won as expected was 18-1 when selected returned at 5-1

.

Alfarris (Che 15:30)-Has 2 wins and has finished 4th twice and placed 2nd once from last 5 runs, makes seasonal reappearance here and if building on the 4th place at Kempton last time out should see Alfarris have too much class here for this field giving trainer W Haggas another winner.

Win Advised

.
Vintage Brut (Asc 14:30)Has won both starts so far, first of those was a Class 5 Maiden at Thirsk over 5f in April, was then sent to Sandown in May again over 5f in a Class 1 listed race and won again beating Sabre by a neck. This looks within grasp for T Easterby who’s yard are in fine fettle at the moment.

Win Advised

.
Itlaaq (Rip 16:35) Has dropped to 17lb below last win mark, yard in a very good spell at the moment and if this horse is going to win today is as good a chance as any. Blinkers fitted for first time today and if taking to those and coupled with the drop in weight should be putting this race to bed .

Win Advised

.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I have one tracker at Ascot and you can find that situated below.

2018-06-21-10-23-56

.

I will now hand you over to Chris for his thoughts before Rich does his button Final Word.

Chris Price’s Royal Ascot Picks –

Nap: Order Of St George – Gold Cup – Not the most original choice but his claims speak for themselves. A winner of this race in 2016 before a valiant 2nd last term. He showed his class with another fine effort in the Arc last Autumn and two wins this spring prove he is still the one to beat over staying trips.

NB: Magic Wand – Ribblesdale Stakes – Im going away from the two fancied runners and taking a punt on Magic Wand. She beat the Oaks winner Forever Together at Chester but was no match for that one of softer ground at Epsom. Back on a fast surface today she could reverse the form with Wild Illusion here.

Rich’s Final Word –

Write something about the days racing if you got a couple in the bag, if not fook it right off….. (Hahahaha)

Let’s get Thursday off to a flyer as the day starts with a sprint. The Norfolk Stakes(2.30) Group 2 over 5f for 2yo Only and I like the look of Sprint King Robert Cowell’s Pocket Dynamo. After finishing runner up on Brighton 5f debut by 1/2 a length, ran out a winner at Chelmsford on the All Weather on May 3rd by 1 length before travelling to Longchamp to land a 5f contest on May 13th by a head with Mikel Barzalona on board and the jockey is retained today. The DANGER could come from Wesley Ward, who has Shang Shang Shang who won on debut on the dirt at Keeneland over 5f with stable mate Moonlight Romance a close 2nd, the front two were well clear that day….

The Gold Cup(4.20) is a who’s who of long distance flat racing and anyone of 3 could win this…. Order of St George, was runner up to Big Orange in this last season. Stradavarius, who won the Queen’s Vase at last years meeting and 3rd to OOSG at this course on Champions Day OR will it be 3 time Dubai Gold Cup & Prix Vigier winner Vazirabad? I don’t see many other’s getting involved in the finish, but if you are playing Melbourne Cup Bingo with Aidan O’Brien Fan site on Twitter, we have a shout of BINGO for Max Dynamite, 4th in the Australian race in November!

And finally Crack On Crack On runs in the Britannia Stakes(5.00) a 3yo Only contest over 1m and after winning the last 2 runs including a 1m C2 handicap at Haydock by 1 & 1/4 lengths, Clive Cox ‘s charge should go well in this race…

Royal Ascot – Day One Gosden/Dettori – Day Two???

Ascot2Blimey, what an opening day we have had to Royal Ascot with fine performances from Frankie Dettori & John Gosden, who landed a treble on the opening day and we have another day of top class racing to look forward to….. So we best get under way. Hello and Welcome to arseonlinetips, a 100% Independent racing blog. No affiliate links here!

Charlie will give you his selections and a recap, while Rich is here with Final Word… Over to you Charlie…

Charlie – yesterday didn’t go well for my main 3 selections as Beauty Filly could only manage 2nd, Just a Feeling was Pulled up and Seinsational won as expected at 11-10, giving me something to take from the day, however my tracker won the 5.35 at Ascot and was 12-1 when posted although returned at 8-1 so can’t really grumble too much.

We go again and my 3 selections for Wednesday’s races are listed below.

2018-06-20-10-37-04

Emaraaty -Is a tracker of mine and after yesterday’s won at Ascot, I couldn’t not tip it to be honest as that would be foolish. Emaraaty comes here in great Nick having won at Newcastle over 7f in a Class 5 race in April this year, next race was a step up in Class to a Class 2 handicap at York where finishing 2nd by a short head to Society Power. That form looks decent and wouldn’t be a surprise if Emaraaty won again here as the horse just oozes Class.

Win Advised

.

Competition -Has finished 2nd either side of pulling up at Huntingdon over 2m back in May, latest 2nd was at Yarmouth over 1m 3f and was only beaten a short head by Sexy Secret and can go one better here.

Win Advised

.

Storm Over -Lightly campaigned having won 3 from 7 on the all-weather, although was disappointing at Newmarket and Epsom latest, but may have needed those runs to blow the cobwebs away. Back on the all-weather could be a different proposition and at 12-1 gets my vote as today’s 3b.

Win Advised

.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you over to Rich for The Final Word.

.

Rich’s Final Word –

Only Without Patrol won for this section, I think the others ran below par yesterday but fair play to the winners and hopefully, with the smaller yards winning it will boost their quality of horses and get more owners into the yard, which can only be good for them and racing… Anyway on to today..

Wesley Ward has come armed with sprinters and his 2 year old in the Queen Mary(2.30) Group 2 5f is Chelsea Cloisters, the filly is thought to be his best he has in his armour this season. Having made a winning Keeneland 5f debut on the Dirt by a wide margin and she is following in the footsteps of Lady Aurelia. A couple to be wary of are York C1 Listed winner Signora Cabello who is 2 from 3 since making debut in April

Queens Vase(3.05) Group 2 3yo Only over 1m 6f and Stream of Stars is a Sea the Stars gelding, who following a debut runner up spot over 1m 2f at Newmarket in April, stepped up to 1m 4f at this course to win a C3 maiden by 1 & 1/2 lengths and now steps up in class & trip…..

3.40 – Duke of Cambridge Stakes. Fillies’ Group 2 over 1m and having finished runner up on her seasonal return, Galileo Filly Hydrangea is a duel group 1 winner. A winner here on Champions Day in October over 1m 2f and is very adapt at this distance too….

Prince of Wales Stakes(4.20) Group 1 over 1m 2f and this is all about Frankel colt Cracksman. He is unbeaten in his last 5 runs and was a winner here on Champions Day. Returned this season to land the Prix De Granay at Longchamp and followed up with a heart stopping head win in the Coronation Stakes on June 1st… Who will chase him home? Hawkbill, was 25 lengths behind Cracksman on his first start since winning the Dubai Sheema Classic in Meydan from Poet’s Voice, who is also in the field today, these 3 should make up the first 3 home, but we will see!

Royal Ascot – Tuesday

Ascot2

Welcome to arseonlinetips, a 100% Independent blog from Glasgow & the Isle of Wight, poles apart but dedicated to Horse Racing….

There is plenty of racing away from the 1st day of the Royal meeting, so let’s see what we have in store for you today….

Charlie has his Selection’s and another fine winner yesterday after 2 runner up spots, a full house is due soon and we have Chris Price’s Ascot Day 1 Nap and Eachway selections and Rich has his Final Word for you all form Royal Ascot(With Trackers) So let’s get this extravaganza of racing started… Were under orders….. And were off….

Charlie –

2018-06-19-10-17-56

Beauty Filly -Won on debut at Yarmouth over 6f back in September in a Class 4 race was then sent to York to contest a Class 5 race over 7f and finished 4th, goes up in trip again to 7f 218y if handling the extra yardage today could bounce back with a win in a pretty weak race.

Win Advised

.

Just A Feeling -Recently underwent a breathing op and won both starts since, one over hurdles and the other over fences, is now 6lb worse off but still looks on a dangerous mark and could easily go in again for the Skeltons who are in fantastic form at the moment.

Win Advised

.

Seinsational -Ready winner last time out at Windsor after sporting first time visor.Carries a penalty for that victory but Jock claims 5lb and negates most of that penalty. If repeating form shown in previous race could go In again.

Win Advised

.

I have a tracker in the 5.35 Ascot it’s Monarchs Glen, currently available at 12-1 although is carrying extra weight has shown enough in recent races to outrun that price, wears first time hood today and if forgiven last run at meydan when race didn’t pan out for it, won previous 2 races prior to that run and looks overpriced here on the basis of that.

.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections and tracker, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket.

Chris Price’s Ascot Day 1 Nap And Eachway Selections

Nap: Rhododendron (Queen Anne Stakes)2.30 – Tough and top-class filly with 3 Group 1 successes. The latest of those in the Lockinge last month over this trip. Connections seem sure she will come on again for that run and with the stable flying  (7/13 the past 3 days) I’m hoping she can get the Royal meeting off to good start.
.
Each-way: The Irish Rover (Coventry Stakes)3.05 – All eyes will undoubtedly by on stablemate Sergei Prokofiev and the John Gosden trained Calyx, however in what is usually a wide-open race full of unexposed horses I’m going with The Irish Rover. Just over a length behind his stablemate on debut at Dundalk, he showed he’s got a real engine when beaten less than a length here last month after almost falling out of the stalls. An easy success followed at Newbury last time out (third won since) and he looks a great each-way play away from the two at the top of the betting. (14/1 available at this time with Bet365 who also go 4 places).

.

Rich’s Final Word – Royal Ascot

I guess we should start with the Opening race of the 2018 Royal Ascot meeting. And what an opening day we have in store!

The Queen Anne Stakes(2.30)Group 1 over 1m…. Benbatl, last season’s Epsom Derby 5th returns to the UK. Having been running over at Meydan, where he won Group 3, Group 2 and landed the Group 1 Dubai Turf when last seen. The one downside is that he is better over a couple of furlongs further, so we will see if Aidan O’Brien’s Rhododendron fresh from winning the Lockinge last month after a 4th to Cracksman at Longchamp…..

The Coventry Stakes(3.05) 2yo Only Group 2 over 6f has been blown wide open by Calyx, John Gosden has a cracker on his hands and after winning by 5 lengths in a Novice Stakes at Newmarket has given Sergei Prokotiev a run for his money. Aidan’s Scat Daddy colt, is 2 from 3 this season, winning his last two runs, but they are over 5f and this is a step up in trip, I have no worries about that as his Dam’s sire was Tapit and as we have seen Scat Daddy colts can go more than 6f and I think it will be a classic battle, who wins?

From a Scat Daddy colt to a Scat Daddy mare, where Lady Aurelia returns to Ascot in the Kings Stand(3.40) Group 1 over 5f. The good Lady is 2 from 2 over C/D and will be looking to retain her crown, when winning by 3 lengths. Now partnered with regular USA Jockey Joel Rosario and her last breeze at Keeneland noted to be 59 seconds over 5f Trainer Wesley Ward will be hoping to make it 3 from 3. I suspect Battaash will have a say in whether Lady Aurelia takes home the crown or not. His only defeat was to the 6 million Guineas Mare Marsha at York and won on his seasonal return by a head in the Temple Stakes at Haydock. This is his second run since having wind surgery, so we can expect fireworks at the finish…..

St James’ Palace Stakes Group 1 for 3yo Only over 1m see’s Without Patrol, John Gosden/Frankie Dettori team up with his Frankel colt, who is unbeaten and 3 from 3. Winning both turf starts this term. Fresh from his Sandown Class 1 Listed win from Gabr(who is in the field again today and this is his 2nd start of the season) comes across a highly regarded French raider in Wootton, who was 4th in the French 2,000 Guineas and Tip Two Win, who was runner up at Epsom when last seen in the English 2,000 Guineas. Tip Two Win is already a Group 3 runner up as well as a Listed winner, this is no gimme for Without Patrol…..
