With Rich having a day off yesterday, Charlie had to go it alone…. We all have off days

Always look forward and not back… We now approach Goodwood & Galway…Let the fun begin!

Normal blog with Charlie’s Tuesday’s Tips and Rich’s Final Word…..

Charlie’s Selections

2018-07-31-09-19-03

.Was 2nd on debut at Newbury over 6f in May this year, next race was at Yarmouth over 6f in June and won beating Ustath by 3 lengths. Most recent run was at Doncaster over 7f in June when winning again beating Al Fajir Mukbile by 3 and 1/2 lengths. Those two victorys couldn’t have been any easier and although this race looks deeper on paper if repeating the form of those races here could be enough to enter the frame and get at least a place.

2018-07-31-09-41-12

.Won last time out at Leicester over 7f beating Affluence by 1 and 3/4 lengths. Although hasn’t raced on this going breeding suggests that shouldn’t be a problem here and gets my Nap selection today.

.Interesting former Willie Mullins horse now with Joseph O’Brien, won 4 starts back at Fairyhouse back in November last year over 2m 4f, disappointing in next two races at Fairyhouse over 2m and Leopardstown over 3m both in December last year. Hinted of a return to form last time out Over 2m 4f at Down Royal when finishing 3rd. Makes Chase Debut and with Joseph’s ability to get the best out of his runners is taken to land this race giving the Obrien family another winner to add to their already bulging tally for the season.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you back over to Rich for The Final Word.

.

Rich’s Final Word –

I am raring to go after a day away…. Only one place for me today & that is Goodwood….

1.50 Handicap Class 2 1m 2f….. Alfarris was the last horse to beat top weight Rainbow Rebel on June 21st at Chelmsford(AW) in a C3 handicap. Although beaten on last run on July 6th when stepping up to Class 2 company at Sandown by a neck and should go well again here today……

2.25 Vintage Stakes Group 2 2YO Only 7f….. Cosmic Law has 2 wins from 4 runs since finishing 5th on his Doncaster debut back in May. Last won at Epsom on June 1st landing the Woodcote C2 by 6 lengths and last time out finished 9th of 23 by 7 & 1/2 lengths to Calyx in the Coventry Stakes . Up a furlong….

3.35 – Stradivarius…. See Tracker

5.15 Fillies’ Handicap Class 3 1m …. Move Swiftly was a winner on debut back in December 2017before finishing 3rd on season return at Wolverhampton(AW). Won on last run on July 10th in a C5 over 1m 1f 104y and now makes turf debut. James Doyle join’s forces with William Haggas’ and the pair have a 35% strike rate together… William Haggas has a 35% SR last 14 days while James Doyle has a 29% SR last 14 days…..

Monday Madness

Welcome to arseonlinetips a completely free and independent horse racing blog brought to you from either end of the British isles or from Glasgow to the Isle of Wight. Rich has taken today off so it’s just me for the time being.

Before we start with Monday’s selections I still have Sunday’s Results to go through so on that note please find Sunday’s Results listed below :

Penny Poet -Finished 3rd and was a loss.

Monbeg Legend – Won as expected advised at 2-1

Big Country -Won as expected advised at 7-2

Requinto Dawn -Finished 7th and was another loss.

Two winners from the 4 selections I put up on Sunday, not too shabby as we head into a new week with the racing coming thick and fast. Monday sees some fantastic racing and I have selections from Ayr and Galway today and you can read about those below.

Charlie’s Monday Selections

2018-07-30-09-49-01

.Has placed 2nd last two runs here over 1m in a Class 3 handicap on the 8th July then again on the 16th July in a Class 2 handicap. Steps back up in distance to 1m 2f today and last run over that trip was back in May at Redcar and finished 2nd on that occasion, this all points to another bold display and is today’s Nap.

.

2018-07-30-09-49-39

.Was 2nd over 2m 4f at Down Royal on the 24th June in a handicap hurdle, was then sent to Limerick to race over 2m 6f on the 14th July and finished 3rd. Most recently was sent to Killarney on the 19th July and raced over 2m 4f and won beating Veneziano Springs by 15 lengths. The way that last race panned out suggests there’s more to come and this race could be another victory for C Byrnes.

Win Advised

.

2018-07-30-09-50-17

.Was 5th on debut at Cork over 1m 2f back on the 18th May. Was then sent to Limerick over 1m 3f and won beating Baby Pink by 2 lengths. Steps up in distance again to 1m 4f 84y and that looks like a decent plan as Imrana was staying on strong at the finish over 1m3f at Limerick last time and the extra yardage should be suitable here.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket.

Stuff for Sunday

Welcome to arseonlinetips, a 100% Independent racing blog brought to you by 2 racing enthusiast’s from either end of the British Isles or from Glasgow to the Isle of Wight.

Yesterday was a good day for us here at arse HQ, with Final Word landing a couple, Rich’s tracker’s landing another while Charlie took revenge on Rich, when Poet’s Word beat Crystal Ocean to land the King George!

That was yesterday and while we won’t be wallowing in our self glory, we always look forward and not back. A quick pat on the back and we march on to Sunday! A standard blog again with Charlie taking you from the stalls to the 1 furlong pole and Rich having the Final Word and trying to get us into the Winner’s Enclosure again….  The flag is raised, all in and we are off…..

Charlie’s Sunday Selection’s –

2018-07-29-10-37-50

.Although hasn’t won as yet ,has ran with some promise in class 6 company of late when finishing 2nd the last 2 runs at Lingfield over 1m 4f in May this year and more recently here at Wolverhampton on the 18th July when was 2nd again over 2m 1f losing by 1/2 length to Something Brewing. Steps back down in distance to 1m 5f and wears blinkers today and that may be an advantage as hung left in later stages of previous race and the blinkers should rectify that.

2018-07-29-10-38-33

.Pretty consistent of late if you discount a poor effort at Kempton 3 runs back when finishing 10th over 2m 5f in a Class 3 Handicap Hurdle in February this year. Made Chase debut in next run at Ludlow in May in a Class 3 Novice Chase over 2m 4f and won, beating Sumkindofking by 4 and 1/2 lengths. Was then sent to Worcester to contest a Class 4 Novice Chase over 2m 4f carrying a penalty for previous win and finished 2nd to Jaleo who won by 7 lengths. Goes back into Class 3 Novice Chase today and is taken to go one better here and Henderson has a 28% success rate at this track.

2018-07-29-10-39-18

.Although has only won 2 Flat turf races from 15 attempts has also won 3 from 3 on the all-weather and looks interesting here having 3rd attempt in listed company. The previous two runs in listed races at Ascot and Sandown were over 1m 2f where Big Country was 12th and 3rd retrospectively. Steps up in distance to 1m 6f today and wears cheekpieces for 1st time and jock Silvestre De Sousa has a 21% strike rate here and if allowed to dictate could be hard to peg back.

Win Advised

.

2018-07-29-10-39-48

.Has placed 2nd in last 2 races at Chelmsford in a Class 3 Handicap over 5f and Catterick over 6f in a Class 4 handicap. Goes back in a Class 3 today over 6f. Trainer Richard Fahey and jock Tony Hamilton have a 22% strike rate when teaming up together and given yard are doing OK at the moment Requinto Dawn deserves to win in this class and today could be that day.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you back over to Rich for The Final Word.

Rich’s Final Word –

Well, well, well what the heck happened yesterday??? Dubai Dominion & Victory Wave both won, while Crystal Ocean was denied.. Sadly Forest Ranger and Elarqam were not up to scratch yesterday but still a very good day especially as Crack On Crack On won for my trackers too….Let’s see what today has in store…. Pontefract & Deauville(France) are what I have for you today, so let’s start at Pontefract…

2.30 Handicap Class 5 1m 4f…. Pentland Hills has been a runner up in the last 2 starts, beaten 2 &1/2 lengths over 1m 2f at Nottingham in a C6 handicap before stepping up to this trip at Leicester on July 7th, only to be runner up again to Surrey Blaze by 1/2 a length and the winner has since won again. Silvester De Sousa is in the saddle today as they look to go one place better….

3.00 Handicap Class 4 1m 2f…. Michele Strogoff has not finished outside the top 3 in all 6 runs so far this season. Runner up last time out in a C6 Amateur handicap on July 6th over 1m and was narrowly beaten on June 22nd in a Redcar C3handicap by a neck. Up in trip and down in class with Silvester De Sousa in the plate….

4.35 Novice Stakes Class 5 3-4YO Only 1m…. Rock Force was a 2 length runner up on race course debut back in April in a 1m 3f maiden and now returns to the track, of the rest in the field Hugo Palmer saddles a Frankel colt, Collide, makes his racecourse debut & could be one to note for the future!

Deauville(France)….

1.35 De Cobeurg Stakes 2YO Only 6f…. There are plenty of UK entries in this race with Kodyanna entered for Richard Fahey, a 2 time 5f winner including last time out on July 12th in a York C3, winning by a short head… Karl Burke sends Comedy, who has won her last two runs including a 6f C5 Fillies’ Novice race with the runner up since winning…. Charlie Hills has Glory Fighter, who has 1 win from 3 runs and was a 7 & 1/2 length 7th in the Norfolk Stakes at Ascot… The last UK raider is Simon Crisford’s Double Kodiac, who won at Maisons- Laffitte on July 15th and that was race course debut…. Who will come out on top? Karl Burke loves a winner in France and his fillies’ form has been boosted but Simon Crisford’s Kodiac is the unknown quandary and could be the pick if handling the experience!

3.20 Prix De Rothschild Group 1 1m…….

Mission Impassible landed the Sandringham(G2) on June 3rd from Crown Walk(in the field) who has won a G3(1m 1f) on July 9th while the 3rd has also since won a G3, Mission was 4th in the French 1,000 guineas and takes on Marco Botti’s Aljazzi, who beat Tribal Act(In field) to land the Duke of Cambridge Stakes(G2) by 3 & 3/4 lengths, with 4th Urban Fox since winning the Pretty Polly(G1) at the Curragh and I cannot see that form being reversed here. It would be no surprise to see Crown Walk reverse the form on Mission as they tend to do that in France a lot but then we have With You, who has been beaten the last 2 runs by Laurens. Beaten by a short head in the Prix Alary(G1) and then 3/4’s of a length in the Prix Diane(G1) so has Group 1 experience and is also a C/D winner, it is going to be a closely matched race and you would expect it to be between With You, Aljazzi, Crown Walk and Mission Impassible… Who wins??? It could go to WITH YOU!

NO trackers today!

Thank you all for visiting our site , we really appreciate your support…

A new Interview will be published tomorrow and all I will say is that it is a trainer, who had a runner in both the Epsom & Irish Derbies this season!

With your typical Saturday, far too many meeting’s for us to go through, so if we have missed something, don’t blame us as we do not plan the racing calendar…..

It’s your standard blog with Charlie’s Saturday Selections taking us from the gates to the final furlong before Rich’s Final Word, will finish off the blog and hopefully we will end up in the Winner’s Enclosure!

Charlie’s Results for Friday

Full Bore -finished 2nd and was a loss

.

Procedure -Won as expected advised at 11-2 returned at 4-1

.

Redeeming – Finished 5th and was a loss

Just the one winner from my 3 selections on Friday, hopefully kick on from that with Saturday’s selections listed below.

Charlie’s Saturday Selections

2018-07-28-10-27-36

.Was in good form last season and has continued that with 2 good performances from 3 starts this term, most notably a 2nd at Chelmsford and a close 3rd here at Newmarket last time out over 6f. Last victory came over 7f and that’s no problem with today’s race and is my 3b selection today.

.

2018-07-28-10-28-22

.Has gone from strength to strength since being upped to Group 1 company, finishing 2nd at Ascot in a Class 1 Group 1 race back in October last year over 1m 2f. Was then sent to Sha Tin in December to contest another Group 1 race over 1m 2f and was a disapointing 6th. Was then shipped to Meydan in March to contest another Group 1 race over 1m 4f and finished 2nd. Was then sent to Sandown in May to contest another Class 1 Group 3 race over 1m 2f and won well. Latest race at Ascot in June saw Poets Word race in another Class 1 Group 1 race over 1m 2f and won beating Cracksman in the process. Todays trip of 1m 4f shouldn’t be a problem and is taken to confirm form with Cracksman again here and gets my Nap Selection today.

.Has been steadily progressing in recent runs finishing in 2nd twice and 3rd once from last 5 starts. Won this race last year off 2lb lower mark. Stays the distance of 1m 4f and is taken to provide T Easterby with his 3rd winner in this race from last 7 renewals and is today’s Nb.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you back over to Rich for The Final Word.

.

Rich’s Final Word –

Well yesterday was a bit of a let down, I expected more form Beshaayir & Atty Persse, Almania is going straight in the tracker after finishing 4th on debut. That was yesterday so let’s see what we have for today….. I have 2 from Newmarket and one each from Ascot & York….

So let’s start at Newmarket….

2.15 Novice Stakes Class 4 2YO Only 7f…. Dubai Destination (Pivitol Colt) was a 4 & 1/2 length 3rd on race course debut over 6f at Goodwood, winner Main Edition has since won the Albany Stakes(G3) and now steps up in trip. Another who has already had a run is Topical (Toronado Colt) who was also 3rd on debut over 7f at Sandown by 3 & 3/4 lengths. With the two noted already having the advantage of a run a couple making their debuts could be worth keeping an eye on…. Golden Valour (Kingman Colt) for Charlie Appleby, who’s stroke rate with 2YO in 2018 is 10 wins from 37 runners with 9 places & War Eagle (Australia Colt) for John Gosden, who cost 350,000 Guineas as a yearling. Dubai is the most likely to step forward for the Phoenix Racing connections, but one of the debutants could well be more than capable of landing one of the places…..

3.25 Dubail Fillies’ Handicap Class 2 7f….. Victory Wave has 2 wins from 5 career runs and they came on debut at Southwell(AW) in April and last time out on July 6th on handicap debut in a C3 7f at Doncaster. Winning by 2 & 1/2 lengths. Now steps up in class with Pat Cosgrove in the saddle, who has a 31% SR when teaming up with trainer S. Bin Suroor….

York….. 3.15 York Stakes Group 2 1m 2f.… I put Forest Ranger up as a long shot in the Eclispse and now he is back in Group 2 company. Having previously won the Earl of Sefton(G3) 1m 1f on seasonal return before taking the Huxley Stakes(G2) 1m 2f before heading to the Eclipse, I could say this is easier, which it may well be but I do think the chances are stronger. A lot will also depend on Elarqam, who was 3rd in the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket by 2 & 1/4 lengths before a below par run in the Irish 2,000 Guineas but now eased in Grade and receiving weight from the field as a 3YO, a big run is expected!

And finally, did you think I wouldn’t mention the BIG race at Ascot????

3.40 King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes Group 1 1m 4f…. Crystal Ocean Has progressed very nicely this season since finishing runner up in the St Leger(G1) at Doncaster and has since landed the Gordon Richard Stakes on season return before following up in the AL Rayyan(G2) at odds on and then kept up the progress when landing the Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot(G2) on June 23rd. Now Sir Michael Stoute’s Sea the Stars colt is back at the top table and could well land the spoils from Cracksman(If he runs) and the stable’s other runner Poets Voice(Could also be a RF in here!)

WE are back today, heading into the weekend, speaking of which, there is some fantastic racing…. So lets get loaded and underway!

Charlie’s Selection’s –

2018-07-27-09-04-32.jpg

.Was 2nd on racecourse debut at Huntingdon over 2m back in May this year, was then sent to Newton Abbot in July and won over 2m 1f beating Sid Hoodie by 4 lengths has been penalised for that win but could still be progressive enough to take this race with a similar run and at 15-8 is today’s Nap Selection.

Win Advised

.

2018-07-27-09-05-04

.Was 3rd at Pontefract over 6f back In June this year, was then sent to Leicester and won over 6f in July in a Class 5 handicap. Was then sent to Bath to contest a Class 3 handicap and finished 2nd by a short head to Little Boy Blue. If repeating that here should have too much for this field in an easier race than last time and at 7-2 is today’s Nb.

Win Advised

.

2018-07-27-09-05-34

.Although hasn’t won as yet but showed a bit of promise when finishing 3rd at Ayr last time out in a Class 6 handicap over 5f, this looks a weaker race and if building on that 3rd place at Ayr could be enough to take this slightly easier race and at 8-1 is today’s 3b selection.

Win Advised

.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you over to Rich for The Final Word.

Rich’s Final Word –

It’s good to be back, it’s good to be back…. Hello…. Hello…. Hello! I have 3 for you today, all from Ascot…. So let’s finishing this bad boy off in style!

2.45…. Maiden Class 2 – 2YO Only 6f...… This maiden caught my eye, Sir Michael Stoute introduces his Australia colt, out of Group 3 winning Dam Sent from Heaven ALMANIA, who cost 500,000 Guineas and has Ryan Moore on board for his race course debut(Possibly one to note)

3.35… Valiant Stakes Listed C1(Fillies’ & Mares’) 1m ….. BESHAAYIR….3 & 1/4 length winner of a Class 3 handicap on July 14th over C/D. William Haggas’ Iffraaj filly now step’s back up to listed company hoping to improve on the midfield she finished in a Mussleburgh Listed contest earlier this term

4.10… Handicap Class 2 1m 4f…. ATTY PERSSE was a 3 length 3rd on season return in a C2 handicap(1m 4f) at Haydock on July 7th, the winner has since won again!

Thank you for popping by folks, we really appreciate your support….

Tip Top Tuesday

Musselburgh racecourse

Hello and Welcome to arseonlinetips, a racing blog brought you by two racing enthusiast’s from either end of the British Isles or from Glasgow to the Isle of Wight….

We took a day away yesterday to recover from the Weekend, we had been flat out with the blog and our latest interview so a rest was needed…. But we are back today!

Standard blog with Charlie’s Tuesday Tips  and Rich having the Final Word, so let’s get this blog started….

Charlie’s Tuesday Selections

2018-07-24-07-23-12

.Was stepped up in trip for 2nd start this season when finishing 2nd in a lady riders handicap at Beverley over 1m 2f Races off 2lb lower today and if repeating the run shown last time when staying on strongly at the finish could take this race for M Easterby who’s yard are flying at the moment and at 3-1 currently is a price Im happy to take for today’s Nap.

Win Advised

.

2018-07-24-07-23-51

.Has posted a couple of modest runs on turf this season but latest 2nd at Doncaster was an improvement, has now dropped to same mark as last win and another bold display here looks likely and at odds of around 5-1 is a price I’m happy to take for my Nb.

Win Advised

.

2018-07-24-07-24-42

.Lightly raced 3yr Old out of Sepoy has shown some promise in races on the all-weather most notably here last time out when finishing 3rd over 1m, if building on that could easily gain first win here in a similar race as last time and at 7-1 is a nice price and gets my 3b today.

Win Advised

.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you over to Rich for The Final Word.

Rich’s Final Word

I would like to start by thanking everyone for yet another fantastic response to our latest interview, it’s not every day we manage to land an interview with one of the top 10 jockey’s in the UK this season!

Now back to the racing & I only have a couple for you today from Chelmsford(AW) in the evening so let’s crack on…

7.10 Handicap C2 6f …. It’s former Aidan O’Brien runner Cenotaph that has caught my attention. Owned by Mrs  Tabor and now with Jeremy Noseda. Made stable debut on June 20th, winning a C3 handicap over C/D by 1 length under a hand’s n heel’s ride. Has been raised 6Lb for the win, but there should be plenty more to come now moving up in class…..

9.10 Handicap C6 2m….. Sanam…. Has won all 3 runs this season including over C/D by 1 & 3/4 lengths on June 21st before dropping back to 1m 6f at this course on July 6th, to win by 3 & 3/4 lengths with James Doyle on board. Doyle is retained again today and Sanam has another 6Lb on top for the win LTO but is now back up in trip…..

That is everything folks…. Big thanks to everyone for reading

Are we ready for Sunday?

Welcome to arseonlinetips, a 100% independent racing blog brought to you from either end of the British Isles or from Glasgow to the Isle of Wight!

Saturday brought some mixed results and a real turn up at the Curragh with Aidan O’Brien having a rare off day in the big Group races, while James Doyle landed a nice Treble! The action continues over in Ireland and there are some nice races over in France, where the UK have some raiders at Maisons-Laffitte…..

2018-07-22-11-03-40

.Hasn’t been out of the first 3 places in last 5 runs over distances from 2m to 2m 3f. Won last time out at Stratford over 2m 3f beating Anton Dolin by 3/4 of a length and both of Iniesta’s wins have came here over course and distance. Although has been raised 3lb for latest win still remains on a workable mark and another bold display looks likely in this smaller field.

Win Advised

.

2018-07-22-11-04-21

.Was beaten into 4th after a small break back in May this year at Warwick over 3m. Faired better on two starts since that finishing 2nd on both occasions over 3m 2f at Uttoxeter and here at Newton Abbot last time out behind a progressive rival and was well clear of 3rd, has been raised 3lb and could still get involved here with a similar display and that could be enough to take this race.

Win Advised

.

2018-07-22-11-05-01

.Has been a revelation since switching yards winning 4 on the spin in distances from 2m 6f to 3m 2f for new connections, the handicapper has slapped Mr Mafia with a 9lb increase for latest victory at Newton Abbot and in his current mood could still get involved here, but it does carry a bit of a risk as only won by 1/2 length that day but this race isn’t as deep, as most of the field have questions to answer, with only the Drone being the only other last time out winner, Second Time Around was 2nd last time out over 2m 7f and goes up in trip here, if Mr Mafia gets a good position could be in the mix.

Win Advised

.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you over to Rich for The Final Word.

.

Rich’s Final Word –

It’s not very often I get the better of Charlie, but I somehow managed to do that yesterday…. I’m sure it won’t last long & he will have his revenge!

We are off to Maisons – Laffitte to start today and the 1.35 Robert Papin Group 2 2YO Only 5f see’s two unbeaten French horse’s looking to extend their unbeaten record to 3 runs but they will have their work cut out by the two British raiders. Firstly Queen Mary winner Signora Cabello leads the British charge, a winner of the last 3 runs and arrives in fine form, with 7 different winners coming from that Royal Ascot Group 2 race including 2 Group winners… The other British raider is Pocket Dynamo, who was only beaten by a nose in the Group 2 Norfolk at Royal Ascot. Of the French unbeaten pair Sexy Metro is 2 from 2 and won a Listed race last time out and Simply Striking is also 2 from 2 and both those wins have come over C/D. My preference  would be for Signora Cabello!

2.45  De Bagatelle Listed Stakes 1m …. As you are well aware by now, I am a huge fan of Sea the Stars and I will take any excuse to plug one of his offspring…. Jaljalah is a Sea the Stars filly, who won at Longchamp over 7f after a 91 day break and now steps up to 1m  and Listed company…..

There is another British raider in the 3.20 Messidor Group 3 1m with Roger Varian sending his Invincible Spirit colt Emmaus, he is 3 wins from 4 runs and was last seen winning a 7f Listed contest at Leicester by 1 & 1/2 lengths and now steps up to 1m….

After yesterday’s success with Worth Waiting, David Lanigan send’s Light of Joy(3.55 De La Pepiniere 1m 2f) his Kitten’s Joy filly is 3 from 3 this season and was a ready class 4 1m 2f winner at Newcastle(AW) last time out….

Let’s head to the Curragh …..

2.55 Sapphire Stakes Group 2 5f…… Mabs Cross, she was 3rd in the Kings Stand by 2 lengths to Blue Point after finishing a 3/4’s of a length 4th to Battaash in the Temple Stakes at Haydock. The Palace House winner should go very well here…. The Danger could well come from the front running Caspian Prince, who wasn’t beaten far over C/D last time out and has been doing well back in the UK in Class 2 handicaps….

4.05 Fillies’ Handicap Class 1 over 1m….. Bona Fide… Dermot Weld’s Frankel filly won on debut over 7f at Gowran on June 4th by 1/2 a length. Up in trip on handicap debut from an opening mark of 85…..

That is all folks…. I hope you found the hidden message in yesterday’s Final Word… If you didn’t you will have to wait until later this evening to find out this week’s Interview is with! I will give you one clue….. It’s a Male jockey, who is a Group winner!

Super Saturday

Newmarket

Welcome to arseonlinetips, a 100% Independent racing blog brought to you from either end of the British Isles… From Glasgow to the Isle of Wight!.

After a day away, we are back and refreshed from the break. It was for the best, with another hectic Saturday and plenty of racing to look at. In fact, if we are all honest, slightly too much, which could be spread out over the week…. But it’s not and we have what we have… So let’s see if we can get into the Winner’s Enclosure today!

AS usual, Charlie leads them up and Rich follow’s with his Final Word, so we are at the stall’s and starting to load…. Flag is raised, all in….. and were off……

Charlie’s Saturday Selection’s

2018-07-21-11-00-53

.Hasn’t been out of the first 3 in last 5 starts and form on fast ground reads 112 coupled with trainer winning this race with his last two runners, this all points to a bold run and visor should help it settle better here than when narrow 2nd last time out at Pontefract when it idled at the start and needed reminders ran on well and was only narrowly beaten by a short head over 1m 4f that day. Currently available at around 3-1 and gets my Nap for today.

.Won last 3 starts at Southwell for the Skelton yard all over 2m 4f, has been raised 9lb and even though had a bit in hand last time, still looks progressive enough to cope with the extra burden here, although In a slightly deeper race today and currently available at around 10-1 gets my 3b here and is a nice price for an Eachway play.

.Has 3 wins a 2nd and a 3rd from last 5 runs, the wins have came over 1m 1f to 1m 3f. Aasheq brought home the hat-trick when landing the Cumberland Plate at Carlisle on the 27th June. Wasn’t disgraced last time at Chester when losing by 1/2 length to Rainbow Rebel and is taken to bounce back here upped in trip to 1m 4f to give T Easterby another winner and is my Nb for today and is currently available at 3-1

Rich’s Nap – Newbury – 3.00 Harwood Stakes – Group 3 – 6f

IMG_20180307_221055

Invincible Army – Drops from Group 1 to Group 3 and is a dual Group 3 winner. Only beaten 4 lengths in the Commonwelth Stakes at Royal Ascot and I think we can forgive one below par run. His form from 2017 reads 2/2/1/2/1/2/4… 13/2

Rich’s Final Word –

Often, this part of the blog can find some winners ,we are hoping add to that today….

Is that likely? Let’s see what we have today as we enter the final furlong…

So we will start at Newmarket, the 2.45 Aphrodite(Fillies’ & Mares’) C1 List 1m 4f…

I was looking through the field and like Worth Waiting for David Lanigan, form is very Nice with 2 wins from 3 runs now steps up from winning a C4 1m 2f Handicap.        Maybe this is a step to far, but the Bated Breath filly deserves a try…..

Undercard of Newmarket Major Partnership(4.35 C5 Novice Stakes 7f) and was Runner up was last seen in April at Kempton(AW), only 1&3/4 lengths on debut, it’s Perhaps now after having wind surgery will help and returns after 94 days away…

Haydock…. and a Tracker at  7.00 Conditions Stakes C3 7f.. Salsabeeel  returns,           Yes after 184 days away and last seen back in January winning a Meydan Handicap by 1 length, having previously finished runner up in Doncasters Flying Scotsman(2016) and in April 2017 was runner up to Beat the Bank in a Newmarket C3, maybe one to note for Charlie Appleby and William Buick!

Over at the Curragh in the evening sun, we have a nice card…

The Friarstown Stakes(4.55) Group 2 7f …. St Patricks Day was a 3/4’s of a length on debut for Aidan O’Brien after joining from Bob Baffert. That run was over 1m in a Listed race and now drops back to 7f … The danger may well come from David O’Meara’s So Beloved, who is a seasoned Group runner, who was a beaten runner up by 1 length in the Criterion at Newmarket on June 30th….

And finally…. 5.30… Irish Oaks(Fillies’) 3YO Only Group 1 1m 4f.… All eyes will be on Magic Wand and Sea of Class. Magic Wand is Aidan O’Brien’s Galileo Filly is 2 wins from her last 4 runs, having won the Cheshire Oaks, she seemingly didn’t like Epsom but won very well by 4 lengths in the Ribblesdale at Royal Ascot… Sea of Class for William Haggas’ is a Sea the Stars Filly, who is 2 wins from 3 season runs, with both wins coming at Newbury, both in Listed Company and both by 2 lengths, latterly on June 14th when landing the Abingdon Stakes. Today she heads to mix it at the top table, with that said… Aidan O’Brien also saddles another Galileo filly, Forever Together, who is back up in trip today after finishing runner up to Urban Fox at this course(1m 2f) in the Pretty Polly Stakes(G1) on July 1st, the form of that race is quite strong with Athena(3rd) winning in Belmont and Turret Rocks(6th) landing the Meld Stakes(G3) at Leopardstown…. Who of these 3 will be victorious??? We will see!

Today’s Trackers –

Hamilton Racecourse

Hello and Welcome to arseonlinetips, a racing blog brought to you from two racing enthusiast’s from either end of the British Isles, or from Glasgow to the Isle of Wight!

Yesterday’s title said… All that we want….. Winners …. Yes we delivered… With Charlie & Final Word landing the odds… Let’s crack on and see what we have today….

Charlie –

.Was a fair 4th at Musselburgh over 5f in a Class 6 handicap in May, went back up-to 6f in next race at Doncaster in a Class 6 handicap and won, was then sent to Carlisle to race in another Class 6 handicap and was beaten by a head by Roys Dream, races off same mark here and a repeat of previous two runs puts him right in the mix in this slightly easier race.

.Won last time out at Hamilton in a Class 5 handicap over 1m, has been raised 3lb for that win, although is slightly heavier due to 3lb rise it’s not excessive and if repeating the form shown at Hamilton should be able to go in again even though the fast ground isn’t ideal.

.Won at Beverley in September last year over 7f In a Class 4 race, was then sent to Epsom and raced over 1m 1f in a Class 4 handicap and finished 4th. Was then sent to York and upped in distance to 1m 2f in a Class 3 handicap and finished 2nd. Was then sent to Redcar to race in another Class 4 handicap over 1m 2f and finished 5th, a line can be drawn through that last run as had been in good shape prior to that run at Redcar and based on previous form should have enough to get involved here.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you over to Rich for The Final Word.

Rich’s Final Word –

Decent day in here yesterday, with only one not finishing in the places or winner’s enclosure…. Let’s see if we can build on that

Evening meeting’s for me today, so let’s start at Doncaster….

7.30 Novice Stakes C4 2YO Only 6f 2y….. James Street….. Hugo Palmer’s Gale Force Ten colt was runner up on race course debut at Newbury (C4 Novice Stakes 6f) when beaten by a neck. James Doyle on board….  and now onto the next race….

8.00 Handicap C3 7f 6y…. Reach High…. Won at Kempton(AW) in October 2017 when last seen running in the UK. Had a dirt run in February in Jebil Ali when placing 3rd, although some 10 & 1/2 lengths behind the winner. Makes UK return after having a gelding operation in the 160 days away from the track…

That’s all I have from Doncaster, we now head to Epsom.

7.05 Handicap C4 7f 3y…… Sha La La La Lee… Runner up last two runs over 1m and now drops back to 7f and down in class. Having been a 3 & 1/2 length 2nd in a C3 at Haydock last time out. The run before(June 23rd), was also over 1m at Haydock but in a C4 and was beaten by a nose….

That is all for today folks…. The site has had nearly 2,000 views this month and we still have another week or so to go…. Will we break 3,000 views???

Welcome to arseonlinetips,a 100% Independent racing blog brought to you from either end of the British Isles, or from Glasgow to the Isle of Wight!

We had a day away yesterday as we felt it was the best not to have a go, on what wasn’t the best cards. That said, we found enough that we liked today to bring you a blog…. So let’s get under starters orders….. Flag raised….. Were off!

Charlie –

.Placed 2nd at Wolverhampton in two Class 5 races over 1m 4f, first of those was in March this year and the 2nd was in April this year. Was then sent to Thirsk in May and finished 6th over 1m 4f in a Class 4 handicap. Was then upped in distance to 2m for a jaunt around Southwell in a Class 5 handicap hurdle over 2m in June and finished 2nd. Next on the agenda was a trip to Stratford where again was upped in trip to 2m 3f in a Class 5 conditions hurdle and won beating Lord Fendale by a neck. Could have been sent elsewhere to run without a penalty but JonJo O’Neil decided to send him here to race in a conditional race with an extra 7lb so they must feel the horse is more than capable off handling the extra weight here.

.Has been better on the all-weather but has won last twice on turf at Hamilton over 5f. Although has a penalty for those wins has a good draw here and may well still be progressive enough to go in again here.

2018-07-18-07-44-28

Has been fantastic on the all-weather this past year winning 4 times from 6 outings at Wolverhampton, although was a poor 5th when seen here last time out back in March this year, that can be forgiven as had placed in the first 3 on last 4 runs prior to that race and may have needed the break, due to races coming quickly between February and March. Trainer has a 14% strike rate here and jock has a 18% strike rate but this rises to 46% when the two combine. This all points in the direction of a good run and at 14-1 looks overpriced here.

Rich’s Final Word –

As we head into the final furlong of this blog….

We start at Lingfield and I bring you two Fillies’ Novice Stakes, so let’s start with 2.10 C5 for 2YO Only over 6f 7y…. Thoughtfully is a Acclimation filly for William Jarvis and was a 2 & 1/2 length 4th on debut at Newmarket on June 24th, the runner up of the race has since won!

Following this race is the 2.40 C5 for 2YO Only 6f 7y… Isaan Queen, a War Command Filly who makes her race course debut for Trainer Archie Watson with Oisin Murphy in the saddle….

Yarmouth….. 6.10 Novice Stakes C4 2YO Only 7f 3y….. Motalaqqy is a Kingman Colt, who is making his race course debut for Trainer Roger Varian, owned by Al Maktoum with retained Jockey Jim Crowley on board….

And now we head to Wolverhampton(AW) and a 2YO Only 7f Maiden at 5.50…. Jungle Juice was beaten by a head on race course debut over 6f at Goodwood on June 15th. Stepped up to 7f lat time out and finished a 2 length 3rd at Wetherby. Now the Bungle Inthejungle filly makes AW debut….

Are we in the Winner’s Enclosure?

A quick note of Thanks to everyone. This site has already beat the previous views record of 12,925 views, which was in the first year when Rich joined… We are now over 13,500 views for the 6 & 1/2 months of the year. Yes we work hard, but if you guys didn’t read our blogs, articles or Interviews this would all be for nothing….. Thank you

That’s all for today folks, thanks for reading…
