Wednesday…… Nearly Derby Day!

img_20161102_192701We are at the half way point of the week and soon we will be counting down to the Epsom Derby, which is on Saturday! Yes, that’s right, we will be counting down to the Derby….. We will give you our thoughts leading up to Saturday and what we will be having a Each Way punt on… More on the Derby later!

First up is Charlie…..

Cheers Rich, before I crack on with Wednesday’s selections let’s find out how Tuesday’s Selections got on and they are listed below.

Octave – Had to dig deep to get up with final strides to win by a neck from Royal Intervention in 2nd. Advised at 100-30 returned at 4-5

.

Fanaar -Took the race by the scruff of the neck 3f out and Won by 1 and 1/4 lengths from Liberation Day in 2nd. Advised at 11-10 returned 11-10

.

Orsera -Didn’t get the run I was expecting, chased leading pair until 1f out then seemed to lose interest and ran on one paced to finish 5th and was a loss.

.

Two nice winners with my Nap and 3b both doing what was expected, a tad disappointed with my Nb letting down the Full House, but that will come in time. Anyways that’s enough about Tuesday, let’s crack on with Wednesday’s Selections listed below.

Charlie’s Selections

2018-05-29-23-49-56

Seniority -Won over 1m 3f in a Class 4 handicap at Kempton back in October last year, and was then sent back to Kempton in November in a Class 2 handicap over 1m 3f and finished 3rd. A change of venue was next as it was sent to Wolverhampton to contest another Class 2 handicap but was a poor 8th. Latest run was at Chelmsford in a Class 3 handicap over 1m when just doing enough to win by a nose. Wears a good today and is only 2lb worse off for that narrow margin victory at Chelmsford and could go in again if in same mood.

Win Advised

.

Almunther -Although hasn’t won as yet has placed  3rd once and 2nd twice over 1m 2f including here last time out in a Class 5 handicap back in April with S de Souza on board, De Souza retains the ride and a chance is taken that today is the day to shed that Maiden tag.

Win Advised

.

Iconic Belle -Ready winner at Yarmouth 2 runs back over 1m 2f in a Class 5 handicap, was then sent to Chepstow for another Class 5 handicap over 1m 2f and finished 2nd. Runs off same mark as last time and if pace is a bit quicker can gain compensation for latest 2nd by going one better today.

Win Advised

.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you back over to Rich for the Final Word.

Rich’s Final Word –

I had a twitter conversation with Lee Mottershead today about the Derby(Epsom Derby) after he posted a ‘ its Derby week on ITV’ with a few pictures of the TV Times, saying that the Derby was not as converted with the public that it once was back in the 60’s- 80’s! My personal opinion is that it still is, but with 300+ channels it needs to be advertised more prominently and I am not sure that ITV have been doing that in the way they do with the Grand National…. I would be interested in your thoughts!

Any way back to Wednesday ….. I only have 3 for you, so we will start at Nottingham, where Bless Him(3.30) makes his first start as a 4yo. The Sea the Stars colt, won the 1m Class 2 Britannia Stakes last season at Ascot before dropping back to 7f at Goodwood to finish a below par 5th in a Group 3. Now back to 1m on seasonal return and this trip yields form of 2/1/3/1 and is still lightly raced so there could be more to come….

At Beverley, Richard Fahey has a very interesting new comer – Borodin(4.30) a 3yo High Chaparral gelding, out of Songbird(Danehill Dancer) and could be one to keep an eye on as he starts over 7f and will need a touch further in time…

And my final thought for today runs at Ripon in the opener. Rocking Roy(6.35) was a very game 1 & 3/4 length winner on debut over 5f at Beverley. The form of this Fast Company colt’s debut has been boosted with the runner up, The Great Heir winning next time out. Run’s under a penalty today….

Please send us your thoughts on what I mentioned earlier…. And don’t forget to read our Exclusive Interview with Charlie Fellowes…..

Was it a Happy Monday? It certainly was with Charlie landing a winner and Final Word delivering…. Now we crack on, with Tuesday’s blog. We would like to Welcome you all to arseonlinetips…. 100% Independent blog run by 2 like minded racing enthusiasts… 100% content… Exclusive Interviews and much more…..

A good day yesterday, let’s hope we can follow it up today….

Charlie

Competition – Pulled up after taking early lead and jumping poorly throughout race and was a loss.

Qaswarah -Was 6th and was another loss.

Salix -Won as expected Advised at 3-1 but returned at 4-1

Just the one winner from my 3 selections on Monday, hopefully build on that today and kick on heading towards the weekend.

2018-05-29-10-28-21

Octave -Unraced Dawn Approach filly out of Calando, is related to several winners including Champlain and Calare, trainer M Johnston is operating a 28% strike rate with his 2yr old’s and would be foolish to dismiss.

Win Advised

.

Fanaar -Ran very green on debut at Newmarket at the start of May finished 4th in a field of 6 over 5f, goes up in trip to 6f and that should be more suitable and is taken to gain first victory here.

Win Advised

.

Orsera -Won over 7f when making debut at Leicester back in September last year, was then sent to Newmarket in November to race in a listed event over 1m and finished 5th. Should have learned plenty from that experience and should have more to offer here.

Win Advised

.

Well that’s my thoughts on Today’s Selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you back over to Rich for the Final Word.

.

Rich’s Final Word –

Firstly, a bit of housekeeping with my Nap finishing 2nd and was a loss but this part of the blog delivered again yesterday, with the first two home in the 3.30 at Leicester and a few other winner’s, I can tell you that Seductive Moment has gone into the tracker! Onwards and all that jazz, so let’s see what the funky Finder has in store for you today….

It’s only right that we start at Leicester today and the opening race (1.50) see’s Murqaab, who was a debut 4th at Newcastle in April before finishing runner up in a Doncaster 5f Novice Stakes, beaten by a neck by Ninetythreetwenty, who has since won a Pontefract Class 2 Conditions Stakes….

Over at Redcar, Mark Johnston sends a nice 2 year old Dragon’s Pulse filly to make her debut. I’ll Have Another is owned by the Rooney family and runs in the 2.00 5f Fillies’ Novice Stakes… the 3.30 Maiden over 1m 2f and Worth Waiting, could just be the answer. The filly was a runner up on both starts to date and stepped up from her 7f debut to 1m on season return at Nottingham and found herself 1 & 1/2 lengths behind the winner but finished over 2 lengths in front of a future Listed winner and now steps up to 1m 2f.

The final destination for Final Word is on the All Weather at Lingfield.

John Gosden send’s his Tapit Colt Wissatuckon in the 3.10 1m 2f Novice Stakes. Having won on debut in October at Wolverhampton he finished runner when last seen back in November over 1m 2f at Chelmsford and makes his season return today

And finally….. Sawwaah(3.40) this New Approach Colt won on debut in April over 1m in a Class 3 maiden and now runs in a Class 5 Novice Stakes. He steps up to 1m 2f for his second start….

That’s all for today Folks….. We are delighted to have published an EXCLUSIVE Interview with top trainer Charlie Fellowes and this can be found on our site, the response so far has been fantastic…. Thank You!

All the Best – Charlie & Rich

Happy Monday??!!

th

Bank Holiday Monday… Plenty of racing to get stuck into….. So lets get started!

Welcome to arseonlinetips Bank Holiday Monday edition, unlike the other publications, we only give you what we think you will want, not everything that is running… also we do not have any photoshop pictures of our slips or Trackers unlike other sites that have affiliate links…. We don’t have them either. We are 100% Independent!

Charlie is back today, Rich has a Nap for you and also his Final Word, so let’s get down to business…..

Charlie –

2018-05-28-11-36-29

Competition -Was a maiden on the flat and made a decent start to hurdling career when a fair 2nd at Market Rasen in August last year over 2m 1f,has changed yards and new connections have given him a wind op, if the op was successful could easily go one better today and gain that elusive first win.

Win Advised

.

Qaswarah -Won at Chepstow in May on handicap debut over 1m 2f has an extra 4lb to carry and goes up in trip to 1m 3f  179y today, if handling the penalty and trip could easily go in again as sire Nayef won over 1m 4f. This is a bit of a risk with main danger being Burgonet from the inform M Johnston yard.

Win Advised

.

Salix -Has been running well in races over 2m finishing 4th the last twice at Kempton and Towcester, this suggests that today’s trip of 2m 4f 145y is within grasp and is taken to gain first victory since winning at Pornichet in November last year.

Win Advised

.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now pass you over to Rich for His Nap and Final Word.

IMG_20180307_221055

Rich’s Nap – Windsor – 5.25 Handicap Class 3 – 1m 2f

Mordin – Beaten a neck in a Class 3 Ripon 1m 2f handicap last time out after landing a Yarmouth 1m 2f Class 4 handicap by 1 & 1/2 lengths from Voi (Who has since won, as has the 4th) He is a progressive type and has the best form in the race – 6/4

Rich’s Final Word –

Yesterday was a great if you followed my thoughts from Longchamp, with Laurens & Vazirabad winning and English raider Almodovar finishing 2nd. That was yesterday and we move onto today…..

Some cracking horses out tomorrow and none more so than at Leicester.

John Gosden sends two really nice 3 year old’s for the 3.30 Novice Stakes, both are stepping up in trip from 1m 2f to 1m 3f. He sends Photographer, ridden by Frankie Dettori(Stable first choice) who he gave me as a horse to follow and the New Approach colt was runner up at Newcastle last time out & makes Turf debut. The other is Raa Atoll, a Sea the Stars colt who on nicely last time out at Nottingham over 1m 2f by 1 & 1/2 lengths. Both step up in trip.

After finishing runner up on her first two runs Burgonet(4.05) landed a Newmarket 1m 2f class 4 maiden by 1/2 a length and makes handicap debut from an opening mark of 80, with usual improvement on the cards this mark may underestimate the Helmet Filly…..

With my Nap coming from Windsor, I thought I would share the rest of what I found…. Seductive Moment(3.05) makes his race course debut, the Shamardel colt out of Sexy Lady(Danehill Dancer) runs in the Class 5 6f Novice Stakes. He is half brother to Showtime & Salamati and his trainer Mark Johnston has a 27% SR with his 2 year olds in 2018

Another of Mark Johnston’s is Lake Volta(4.50) who has been placed in Group 3 & Listed races. Has finished runner up in his last two starts, including to Corinthia Knoght and last time out in a 5f Class 2 handicap, beaten by a short head. Now runs for the 4th time off his mark of 97 in this class 2 5f handicap!

And finally in the opening race at Chelmsford on the AW, we see another who has been runner up on two occasions. The Last Party(2.05) makes AW debut after being 2nd on both turf starts, beaten by a neck and short head respectively. Surely the Hellvelyn Filly goes in for trainer Chris Dwyer to land the Class 5 6f Novice Stakes????

We are pleased to publish another instalment of Rising Stars featuring Eoin Walsh, available on site and through Rich’s pinned tweet(FunkyTips) on twitter!

Thanks for your support …. All the Best Charlie & Rich

Simply Sunday

160908121151-curragh-racecourse-ireland-mountains-super-169

Hello and Welcome to Simply Sunday from arseonlinetips, yesterday was a very good day for racing, with some fantastic finishes and some deserved winners.  We now turn our thoughts to today and see what we have in store for you…..

Charlie – Is taking a day away and return for Bank Holiday Monday…. See you then!

Rich’s Final Word –

After Haydock yesterday, I have turned my attention to the Curragh and Longchamp, so let’s see what we have….

Defoe heads to Ireland, running in the 2.55 Gold Cup. Having been two from two this season, with both wins over 1m 4f, he now drops back to 1m 2f and this should not really be an issue. His only defeat was in the St Leger and we know how that form has worked out. Although, a word of caution, after the favourites getting turned over yesterday, you never know!

With Happily finishing 3rd in the English 1,000 Guineas, she will be looking to get back to track today in the Irish 1,00 Guineas(4.10) having won two Group 1 races last season including the Grand Criterium in France. She will, like most of Aidan O’Brien’s big guns have come on for the run…..

Now we head off to Paris, Longchamp for some very good racing…..

Laurens(2.37) The duel Group winning filly from last season including landing the Fillies’ Mile at Ascot on Champions day back in October, steps up in trip to 1m 2f in today’s Prix Saint Alary having finished runner up in the English 1,000 Guineas on May 6th….

Almodovar(3.50) follows up his 4th to Crystal Ocean, with the winner going in again(St Leger form) That was his stable debut for  Roger Charlton after spending 589 days away from the track, the 1m 1f trip in the Prix D’ispahan should suit and he will have come on a lot for that run…..

And finally, the triple Dubai Gold Cup winner Vazirabad returns to France, looking to land the Prix Vicointesse Vigier(4.25) for the third time in a row. He drops back from 2m to 1m 7f and is faced by the only horse to defeat him in France last season Ice Breeze, will it be these two fighting out the finish today??

Today’s Tracker –

IMG_20180527_112657.jpg

Hopefully, with no other Issues, we will be posting an Interview this evening and have many more on the way for you guys to enjoy and share. That is all for today folks, enjoy the racing….

All the best – Charlie & Rich

Super Stakes Saturday……

Goodwood
Goodwood

Welcome to a Super Stakes Saturday at arseonlinetips….. After Charlie going alone yesterday, Rich returns today with Final Word from Haydock and Charlie has his Super Saturday Selections. So buckle up and brace yourselves for the long haul….

Charlie’s Super Saturday Selection’s & Friday Results –

Mac Opolo -Finished 2nd and was a loss.

Napping -Finished 4th and was a loss.

Imphal -Finished 3rd and was a loss.

A disapointing day with all 3 selections running well without winning. Hopefully get back on track with Saturday’s selections listed below.

Charlie’s Selections

2018-05-26-10-31-14

Mancini -Has only raced 7 times winning 3 of those including a Class 4 Maiden Auction at Pontefract over 1m 4f back in July last year. More recently won at Chelmsford in April over 1m 6f in a Class 5 Handicap before being sent to Lingfield to race over 2m in a Class 4 handicap in May and winning again. Although this is a stronger race Mancini was doing his best work close to home last time and although is 8lb worse off there could be more to come as he looks unexposed in this sphere.

Win Advised

.

Society Power -Was 2nd on debut at Windsor but has won every race since, although hasn’t won by a great margin he is showing a clever side by only doing enough to win each race as all victorys have been gained by 1 length or less. Is now raised 6lb for latest win at Ascot and could go in again as looked to have plenty in hand at the finish.

Win Advised

Qaysar -Another who was 2nd on debut but has won 3 on the spin since including  two races at Kempton over 7f and latest victory at Newbury over 7f, has an extra 8lb to carry for that win but looks unexposed and there could be more to come.

Win Advised

.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you over to Rich for the Final Word.

.

Rich’s Final Word – Haydock

A welcome day off yesterday, but I am back now with vengeance and raring to go, so let’s start with the Silver Bowl Handicap(2.50), Class 2 handicap for 3 year olds only over 1m 37 yards….. Crack On Crack On was beaten 1 length by Favourite Qaysar at Kempton(AW) back in November. Both have made a decent start to the season, with Crack On winning by 1/2 a a length on return at Lingfield, having been sat out the back and showing a fine turn of foot in the final furlong and now tries 1m for the first time. Hot favourite Qaysar, is 2 from 2 this term, having landed 2 7f contests including a Class 2 handicap at Newbury by 1 & 1/2 lengths and also tries 1m for the first time. He is 3 from 4 in career starts and holds an entry to the St James’ Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot. Hopefully theses two will be fighting it out at the finish!

Next up is the Temple Stakes(3.25) Group 2 for 3 year olds only over 6f…. The last time James Garfield ran over 6f was back in September in the Mill Reef at Newbury, winning by 3/4’s of a length from Invincible Army. The two face up again today, with James Garfield having finished down the field in the 2,000 Guineas but is 2 from 3 over 6f and Frankie could well send him for home early knowing he stays 7f. Invincible Army on the other hand, has taken that defeat and landed the Merriebelle Stakes by 1 & 1/2 lengths last time out on season return and will have appreciated the run, who will win or will it be Heartache?

And finally, we get to the Temple Stakes(4.00) Group 2 over 5f..… We see the season return of Prix De L’abbeye winner Battaash, having beaten Marsha by 4 lengths when last seen and was only handed 1 defeat from his 5 runs  last term, to Marsha in the Nunthorpe at York and carries a penalty for that win. A couple of improvers will be looking to take on Battaash, with Katchy who has improved no end this winter and his only defeat was to a future French Group 2 winner City Lights at the AW Championships and recently landed a Chester Class 3 by 9 lengths, his chance is well deserved. While Mabs Cross , who racked up a 4 timer in 2017 returned a neck runner up to Mrs Gallagher in a Bath Listed race before landing the Palace House Stakes at Newmarket on May 5th, the afore mentioned Mrs Gallagher travelled to Ireland and landed the Polonia Stakes on May 7th. We cannot forget the 11 year old Take Cover, who won his final 3 starts of 2017, including the Group 3 World Trophy at Newbury…. Battaash is likely to be a warm favourite, but the other’s should give him a run for his money and could this go to an Improver, we will see at 4.00!

Here are tomorrow’s trackers…..

IMG_20180525_224511.jpg

IMG_20180525_224438.jpg

And it is likely I will have Sunday off, but I said that last week!

That’s all for today folks, enjoy the racing!

All the Best – Charlie & Rich

Goodwood
Goodwood

Well Thursday didn’t go as planned for my selections with all 3 losing, however Rich had more joy in his Final Word section, but I will let him tell you about that when he returns. In the meantime please find my results for Thursday below.

.

Siam Dawn – Finished 9th after running a bit green on debut will come on for the experience and will be tracked for next few races.

.

Derrymore -Finished last and I was a bit disapointing with the performance, maybe something amiss as jock eased up although was well beaten at the time.

.

Sacred Path -Was held up before making late headway to snatch 2nd place on debut for this Galileo Filly who could easily win next time out and is another who goes in the tracker.

.

Charlie’s Selections for Friday

2018-05-24-23-23-39

Mac Opolo -Although hasn’t won as yet has ran quite well in the five handicaps it’s contested. Including when 5th at Lingfield last time out over 1m 2f after a short break.Retains the cheekpieces used last time and could easily win here from a 2lb lower mark.

Win Advised

.

Napping -She won well here last time out and drops in grade for today’s race, although has a penalty to carry for that victory here 9 days ago, could still be the one to beat here in a weak race.

Win Advised

.

Imphal -Was in fine form last season winning last four races including over course and distance here in August. Was a fair 3rd at Ascot over 2m in a Class 3 Apprentice Handicap on the 11th May. Has been raised a further 3lb for that race at Ascot and if in same mood today could easily go in again today.

Win Advised

.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket.

Thanks for your continued support and taking the time to read our blog it’s appreciated by both myself and Rich and we will strive to bring you the quality of content you have become accustomed to.

All the best Charlie and Rich

Thumping Thursday…….

Goodwood
Goodwood

Firstly, we haven’t been around much as nothing has really caught our eye and we thought until this happens, we will stay quiet…. so Secondly….. Welcome to arseonlinetips, Yes something’s have caught our eye and we could not let this go to waste! Standard blog for you all today with Charlie’s Selection’s and Rich’s Final Word, so let’s get this started party!

Charlie’s Selection’s –

2018-05-23-23-51-01

Siam Dawn -Dawn Approach Colt out of Tea Cup, half brother to Conversant is very interesting seeing as the trainer had his first 2yr old of season win at Nottingham on Tuesday at 12-1. It will be going in my tracker regardless of the result.

Win Advised

.

Derrymore -Won on debut for J Gosden at Wolverhampton and could have more to offer here being stepped up in class for turf debut and the extra yardage shouldn’t be a problem.

Win Advised

.

Sacred Path -Galileo filly out of All’s Forgotten making debut for J Gosden is related to Shantaram and Forever Now both rated at 111. Makes plenty appeal on paper with an entry in the Ribblesdale at Ascot and any market support will be an indicator here.

Win Advised

.

Something a bit different today from me with 2 selections making debut, please remember to keep stakes small if following and to keep notebook handy as there will be other horses to follow in the coming weeks. I will now hand you over to Rich for the Final Word.

.

Rich’s Final Word –

It seems like an age since we posted a blog, but in reality it was only back on Sunday…. I have 3 for Sandown for you today…

I think we are all left in no doubt that Without Parole(7.05 Heron Stakes – C1 Listed – 3YO Only – 1m) is the one to beat in this race. The Frankel colt gave them weight and an 8 length beating at Yarmouth, runner up Ostillio has since won …… Although Gabr, who was 5th behind Saxon Warrior in last season’s Racing Post Trophy and with that form boosted on his seasonal return, improvement likely too both Gabr and Silver Quartz, who won at Windsor earlier this month, could give Without Parole something to think about in the later stages!

With a run in him now Weekender(7.35 Henry II Stakes – Group3 C1 – 2m 50y) will be looking to improve from his runner up spot at Ascot on Champions Day behind Raheen House, the 2 & 1/2 length win at Chelmsford in a C2 will have put him spot on for this, although Sheikhzayedroad will have something to say about him getting it all his own way. The Runner up in the Dubai Gold Cup to Vaziriabad will be looking to get back in the winners enclosure…..

And finally in the feature 8.10 Brigadier Gerrard Stakes – Group 3 C1 – 1m 2f…. Poets word, who was 2nd to Cracksman on Champions Day at Ascot( albeit 7 lengths will be looking to grab the headline’s for Sir Michael Stoute. Returned in Meydan, finishing 2rd to Hawkbill in the Sheema Classic and will be looking to put this on his CV for the season as they target bigger things. Fabricate(The Queen) will also be hoping to get his head in front, having finished a short head 2nd to Crystal Ocean last month at this course in the Gordon Richards Stakes and with Crystal Ocean winning the AL Rayyan Stakes on Saturday, that form is very strong. These two could have a ding dong finish to the line!

That’s all for today folks, thanks for popping in. Please have a read of our latest interview with The Guardian’s Racing Correspondent Chris cook, who has some very interesting views on rule changes in racing!

All the Best – Charlie & Rich

Sunday Service

Screenshot_2017-05-08-23-15-39_1

Welcome to a Sunday edition of arseonlinetips. As we mentioned yesterday that Saturday was a Stakes day and they were everywhere! But unlike yesterday, when Rich said he was having today off…. Well he is still here! Standard blog…. Charlie’s Sunday Service followed by Rich’s Final Word…. Annnnnnd their off!!

Charlie –

Tanasoq -Won as expected Advised at 15-2 returned at 8-1

.

Addeyeb -Finished 8th and was a loss

.

Yellow Dockets -was 4th and was another loss.

.

Just the one winner on Saturday from the 3 selections I put up, there will be no selections from me today so it’s just Rich’s final word.

.

Rich’s Final Word –

Yes sorry folks, I was intending to take Sunday away but had a spare hour or so yesterday afternoon and got looking at Naas…. AS I mentioned yesterday too, the St Leger is a KEY piece of form, with many winners already this season and plenty more to come until they all meet again!

It will be no surprise to anyone that Aidan O’Brien will feature heavily today as he throws his army at Naas. And that is where we will start….. Broadway(2.05) runs in the Fillies’ Maiden and is turned out quickly as the Galileo filly only ran in the Athansi Stakes on May 7th, finishing a 1 length 3rd to Lightening Quick. Good chance to break her maiden with Ryan Moore on top…..

I like the look of a NON Aidan O’Brien  runner in the 2.40 – Owenstown Stud Stakes, a Class 1 listed 7f contest . Ambassadorial, who is lightly raced. Won first 2 start at Dundalk back in 2016 before finishing 3rd on the only start of 2017. Made a long awaited return at Dundalk last month, finishing runner up by 1/2 length  and has in form James Doyle travelling over to take the ride.

The next two races have the same form line and involve Scat Daddy…… Sergei Prokofiev( 3.15 Rochetown Stakes – Class 1 Listed – 5f)  was runner up to Skitter Scatter(3.45 Fillies’ Sprint Listed – 6f) on debut before winning by 7 & 1/2 lengths on turf debut over C/D…. While the latter takes on another Aiden O’Brien Scat Daddy filly called So Perfect, who won on debut at Navan over 5f last month & steps up in trip…. It’s a Scat Daddy Fest!

That’s all folks, thanks for your support and hopefully we will publish another interview later this evening and have many more planned on the horizon, including a trilogy of Interviews, with National Paper racing Correspondents!!!

All the Best – Charlie & Rich

Stakes here, Stakes there….. Stakes everywhere!

Screenshot_2017-05-08-23-15-39_1

Well, that was an interesting Friday. Stradavarius looks very classy this season and won well yesterday…. What did we learn though?? The St Leger form of last season is KEY!

Charlie again head the blog, with us finishing with Rich’s Final Word, no NAP today! So let’s crack on…

Charlie –

Nordic Passage -Finished 2nd and was a loss.

Valcartier -Something amiss with this as it finished last and was a loss.

Ballyalton –Was a late  Non runner stake returned .

Not a day to remember with the only thing to cheer about was a non runner. Hopefully get back on track with Saturday’s selections listed below.

.

Charlie’s Selections

2018-05-19-10-21-46

Tanasoq -Although was a disappointing 9th at Musselburgh last time out, that run can be forgiven as had finished 2nd at Beverley the race prior to that Musselburgh flop. The ground should be more suitable today and is taken to bounce back with an overdue win.

Win Advised

.

Addeyeb -Has won 5 of the 7 races it’s taken part in, including the Lincoln and a Group 2 at Sandown latest. Although hasn’t encountered ground this fast the manner of those victorys suggest that the ground shouldn’t be an issue, although the draw could have been kinder but has pace in abundance and should break sharp enough to get a good position before the pace quickens.

Win Advised

.

Yellow Dockets -Was bought for £30,000 after finishing 2nd in an Irish point to point race, was then sent to champion trainer Nicky Henderson and made debut at Towcester over 1m 7f in April and finished a respectable 3rd after racing freely even though hood was worn for racecourse debut, with normal progress should get off the mark at second time of asking to give the champion trainer another well earned victory.

Win Advised

.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you back over to Rich for The Final Word.

.

Rich’s Final Word –

We have had some fun this week, yes I know the prices have been short, but blimey they won well didn’t they and  a nice Reverse Forecast mentioned too, hopefully some of you have been taking notice! I have just concentrated on Newbury & Newmarket today, due to time constraints, so let’s look at what we have….

Newbury’s Lockinge Meeting….

Crystal Ocean runs in the 2.25 AL Rayyan Stakes(Group 3 Class 1 – 1m 4f)  as I mentioned at the start of the blog, the St Leger Form is key at the moment and it is no different with Crystal Ocean, as he finished 2nd and then won on seasonal return in the Gordon Richards(1m 2f) Group 3 by a short head from the Queen’s Fabricate. Stradivarius was 2nd in the St Leger and won yesterday… KEY Form!

Now on to the big race of the day…. 3.40 – Lockinge Stakes – Group 1 – 1m…. Lot’s of interest in this race and you can see why. All eyes will be on Addeybb, who is 2 from2 this season and rapidly improving after landing the Lincoln, quickly followed by the Mile at Sandown(Group 2) and this is yet another step up in class. Aidan O’Brien sends a team, which includes Rhododendron, who was 4th to Cracksman on seasonal return in Paris and will certainly come on for that run. I’m not totally convinced Limato is a Miler, 6/7f for me really. We also have the Breeders Cup Mile 4th Suedois, who won the Clipper Stakes in Ireland last season before heading to the USA and makes seasonal return. The dark horse in the field is Zabeel Prince, who is still lightly raced, with only 6 career runs with winning 4 of them and was recently a Listed winner but takes a huge step up in Class….. I know this is no help to anyone really, but I think that if Addeybb is as good as we hope, then he will have to beat Rhododendron!

And the last thought from Newbury is Crystal Hope(4.50 – Fillies’ Trial – Class 1 Listed – 3YO Only – 1m 2f) after finishing 6th on debut last October, she made a winning seasonal return at Sandown last moth when stepping up to 1m 2f from the mile. She won by 2 lengths,  beating York’s Musidora Group 3 winner Give and Take….

Away to Newmarket we go……

We have an interesting entry in the 3.50 Fillies’ Novice Stakes – Class 4 – 2YO Only – 6f… and that is a 370,000 guineas Charlie Appleby filly called Beyond Reason, the trainer has a 33% SR with 2YO in 2018 and today he gives debut to the daughter of Australia! Could be one to watch!

And finally, I finish with another Fillies’ race, 5.00 Class 3 Fillies’ Novice Stakes for 3YO Only over 1m 4f.…. Both Hameem(Teofilo) and Phantasmic(Frankel) finished as runner’s up on seasonal return. Hameen was beaten by a head at Lingfield(AW) over 1m 2f, while Phantasmic was beaten 1 & 1/2 lengths at Wolverhampton(AW) over this distance, but which will win????

That is your lot from me this week, I am taking Sunday off but as usual we will have an interview for you in the evening….

Thanks for popping by and supporting us, it’s fantastic to reach another milestone in arseonlinetips history…. May is the 3rd month in a row that we have had over 1,500 views…. Thank You

York – 2.55 – Middleton Stakes – Fillies’ Group 2 Class 1 – 1m 2f 56y

Coronet – 3rd when last seen at Ascot in the Fillies’ and Mares’ race on Champions Day back in October. Finished behind Enable 3 times during last season but she did get her head in-front when landing the Ribblesdale Stakes at Ascot in June when beating Mori( also in the field today) by a neck. A Listed winner over this distance and she makes her seasonal return today – 2/1

.

And now we will add to some filling to this sandwich….. Charlie the floor is all yours!

Charlie

Ubla – Finished 5th and was a loss.

Fergiethelegend -finished 2nd and was a loss.

Francophilia -finished 2nd and was a loss.

Not what I was hoping for with all 3 selections losing, hopefully get back on track before the weekend, please find Thursday’s selections listed below.

2018-05-16-23-39-13

Mildenberger -Dual listed winner who won last time out at Newmarket beating Fortunes Pearl by 1/2 length, this son of Teofilo is looking as though the distance of this race is within grasp and another bold run looks likely here.

.

Win Advised

.

Morning With Ivan -Has won last 2 starts including over course and distance last time out, although has been raised 5lb for that win, still remains progressive enough and could go In again if in the same frame of mind.

.

Win Advised

.

Perfection -Lightly raced and although has yet to win has shown some promise in the 3 races it’s taken part in, wears blinkers for first time on turf and this daughter of Dutch Art can get involved here if taking to the blinkers.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you over to Rich for the Final Word.

Rich’s Final Word

If you read this yesterday( yes you!) then I mentioned the winner in both races previewed at the start of both previews….. I am previewing the Group 2 Dante Stakes today, 3.30 York……

Where to start with this race???? Wells Farhh, who is two from two at this course but has not been seen since August when winning the Acomb Stakes(Group 3) over 7f here, when beating future Group winner James Garfield and now starts the season stepping up in trip. White Mocha was runner up on season return to Masar, has had a run and beat Lingfield’s Derby Trial winner Knight to Behold on last 2YO start, while as Mildenberger, has also had a run and is a Duel Listed winner in the field(see Charlie’s thoughts) …. The one that I am interested in is……….. Cross Batton, who has had 2 runs so far this term, both over 1m 2f and has won both. Landing the season return at Kempton(AW) before stepping up in class to land an Epsom Listed contest. This is a step up in class, but when landing the Listed race in April finished ahead both Aidan O’Brien runner in this field, James Cook and Zabriskie!

That is your lot for today folks, remember if you cannot afford to bet, then just watch the fantastic coverage on ITV4……
