It has been my privilege and pleasure to produce a horses to follow list for Arseonlineracing for the fourth year in a row. In my previous horses to follow lists, I have unearthed Group 1 winners Van Gogh , Auguste Rodin and Joan Of Arc all before they were named and long before they saw the racetrack.
The 2023 list was a toughie as there are less Galileo’s around now but here it goes, enjoy the read and thanks to Rich & the team for hosting the list again, it was an honour to produce it.
P.S – There are a couple who just missed out on the list The Uncle Mo x Coin Breaker Colt and the Dubawi x Minding Colt are ones to keep an eye on. Hopefully the ones we have selected will contain plenty of Classic contenders for 2024.
Thanks again all the best for the coming season – Paul (AOBFS)

AOBFS THOUGHTS — This fella Cost £375,000 as a yearling. I love his sire Siyouni. He has already produced champions such as St Mark’s Basilica, Laurens, & Sottsass.
The dam won a graded race at 9 furlongs so I see this fella as a potential Prix Du Jockey Club (French Derby) runner in 2024 and maybe a future Arc contender.
AOBFS RATING — 9/10
NAME — London City
GENDER — Colt
MONTH BORN — April
LINEAGE — Justify x Winter
PEDIGREE — Dam Winter won 4 Group 1 races including 2 Classics when running out the winner of the English & Irish 1000 Guineas. Sire Justify had an epic first crop producing 8 stakes winners and 5 Group race winners including Statuette.
SIBLINGS — Race Winners Beginnings, & Only are half sisters.
TRAINER — A.P.O’Brien
OWNER — Coolmore
COLOURS CARRIED — TBC
AOBFS THOUGHTS — Beginnings the half sister to this juvenile is a real dark horse for the
1000 Guineas after she eyecatchingingly broke her maiden tag at Dundalk in early November
she is one for your notebooks this summer.
Winter was sent to Japanese sires Deep Impact &
Lord Kanaloa for her first 2 coverings but went to Ashford in Kentucky for her 3rd covering when visiting Justify who has got his stud career off to a flyer this really is a fascinating pairing and expecting these 2 champions to produce a top class horse.
AOBFS RATING — 9/10
NAME — Gaspare Gabrielli
GENDER — Colt
MONTH BORN — April
LINEAGE — No Nay Never x Chenchikova
PEDIGREE — The dam is a race winning Daughter of Sadler’s Wells which makes her a full
sister to superstar High Chaparral. The Sire No Nay Never had a stella 2022 producing star
Juveniles such as Little Big Bear Meditate & Blackbeard.

COLOURS CARRIED — TBC
AOBFS THOUGHTS — Chenchikova has already produced a superstar in the form of 2020 Prix de Diane & Nassau Stakes winner Fancy Blue and I’m expecting big things from this Colt he could well be a gun 2 year old and could well be a Guineas type in 2024.
AOBFS RATING — 10/10
NAME — Igor Stravinsky
GENDER — Colt
MONTH BORN — February
LINEAGE — No Nay Never x Hermosa
PEDIGREE — Dam English & Irish 1000 Guineas Winner in 2019. Sire No Nay Never has
already established himself as a top class young sire who has already produced 45 Stakes
winners including 5 Group 1 winners.
SIBLINGS — This is her first foal so there are no Siblings.
TRAINER — A.P.O’Brien
OWNER — Coolmore
COLOURS CARRIED — TBC
AOBFS THOUGHTS — Just loved Hermosa she was as hard as nails winning classics the hard way making all typical Galileo she was as tough as teak. There is not much to go on with the No Nay Never/Galileo cross it’s not something Coolmore have tried a lot but in this mouth-watering partnership we may get the answer and this could be the start of a barrage of No Nay Never/Galileo crosses.
This fella is an early foal so should be out fairly early in 2023 and I for one really can’t wait to see him.
AOBFS RATING — 8/10
NAME — Andromeda
GENDER — Colt
MONTH BORN — April
LINEAGE — Galileo x Muwakaba
PEDIGREE — Dam race winning Daughter of Elusive Quality. Sire 12 Times Champion Sire in Great Britain and Ireland. Sire of 97 Individual Group 1 winners including Frankel.
SIBLINGS — Half Brothers & Sisters include Group 2 Winner Cayenne Pepper who was also
placed in the Irish Oaks & Pretty Polly Stakes in 2020, Race Winners Howth, Just Because,
Mukab, & Seyaady
TRAINER — A.P.O’Brien
OWNER — Coolmore
COLOURS CARRIED — TBC
AOBFS THOUGHTS — Sadly not many Galileo’s left. This 2 year old jumped off the page at me as his son Australia & Muwakaba produced a beautiful filly in Cayenne Pepper. Hopefully he will be out after July to break his maiden tag and hopefully go on to better things afterwards potentially in Group company.
Think this fella could well be a really nice Derby prospect for 2024.
AOBFS RATING — 9/10
FILLIES’ –
NAMED – Velvet
GENDER — Filly
MONTH BORN — March
LINEAGE — Fastnet Rock x Ballydoyle
PEDIGREE — Dam won the 2015 Prix Marcel Boussac and was 2nd in the 2016 1000 Guineas behind stablemate Minding. Sire Fastnet Rock is a top class multiple champion sire in Australia and is the sire of champions including Merchant Navy, Advantage, & Atlantic Jewell.
SIBLINGS — Full Sister to Listed Winner Monday., Half Sister to race winner Leinster House, & race placed Red Riding Hood who I think could have a big season in 2023.
TRAINER — A.P.O’Brien
OWNER — Coolmore
COLOURS CARRIED — TBC
AOBFS THOUGHTS — These 2 already produced a stakes winner in the form of Monday who impressively broke her maiden tag in listed company after which she went on to finish 4th in the Rockfel Stakes Group 2 which turned out to be her final ever run on the track.
Guessing she suffered some sort of serious setback to wipe out her classic campaign so who knows what she could have gone on to achieve. Hopefully this Colt will shape up into a Classic contender in 2024.
AOBFS RATING — 8/10
NAME — Fleetingly
GENDER — Filly
MONTH BORN — February
LINEAGE — Justify x Alice Springs
PEDIGREE — Dam 3 time Group 1 winning Daughter of Galileo. Sire Justify had an epic first crop producing 8 stakes winners and 5 Group race winners including Statuette.
SIBLINGS — Half siblings include unplaced Quality Road Colt Canute, & Group race placed
daughter of Dubawi Prettiest.
TRAINER — A.P.O’Brien
OWNER — Coolmore
COLOURS CARRIED — TBC
AOBFS THOUGHTS — I just loved this fillies mother Alice Springs after her defeat to Minding in the Guineas she picked up 3 Group 1 races including the Falmouth Stakes Matron Stakes & Sun Chariot Stakes all in 2016. She really was a top class miler.
We already know Justify has made a more than encouraging start to his stud career and I’m really looking forward to seeing what these 2 champions have produced. Potentially a 1000 Guineas candidate in 2024.
AOBFS RATING — 9/10
NAME — Mayfair
GENDER — Filly
MONTH BORN — March
LINEAGE — Justify x Clemmie
PEDIGREE — Dam was the winner of the Cheveley Park Stakes Group 1 as a juvenile and
finished 3rd behind Alpha Centauri in the 2018 Falmouth Stakes. Justify now a second season
sire has already produced an impressive 38 individual race winners.
SIBLINGS — Full Sister to Ballydoyle 3 year old filly Unless, who placed twice in her 3 runs as a juvenile last season.
TRAINER — A.P.O’Brien
OWNER — Coolmore
COLOURS CARRIED — TBC
AOBFS THOUGHTS — The full Sister Unless was sent off a very hot favourite for all 3 of her starts last season and obviously we did not see the best of her it will be interesting to see how she fairs as a 3 year old. This is Clemmie’s second foal and I still have alot of faith in this paring. Clemmie is the only offspring of Galileo to win a Group 1 at a sprint distance.
This filly has the Scat Daddy & Sadler’s Wells firmly in her lineage and this could be very potent. Hopefully she shapes up to be a 1000 Guineas Contender in 2024.
AOBFS RATING — 8/10
NAME — Matrika
GENDER — Filly
MONTH BORN — February
LINEAGE — No Nay Never x Muravka
PEDIGREE — The dam is an unraced daughter of High Chaparral. The Sire No Nay Never has already produced 45 Stakes winners including Multiple G1 Winner Alcohol Free.
SIBLINGS — G1 Winner The Wow Signal, Group 3 Winner Unicorn Lion, Listed Winner Miss Infinity, and Race Winners Madonnadelrosario, & Wowcha.
TRAINER — A.P.O’Brien
OWNER — Coolmore
COLOURS CARRIED — TBC
AOBFS THOUGHTS — The Dam has already produced plenty of quality amongst her first 6
foals and this filly is her 7th foal. Her full brother Unicorn Lion won the Fukushima Kinen Grade 3 in Japan over ten furlongs which is unusual as No Nay Never tends to pass on more speed to his offspring.
Suspect this filly will end up being a miler at 3 who has the potential to stay 10 furlongs later during her classic campaign so could be a potential Prix De Diane (French Oaks) type.
AOBFS RATING — 9/10
NAME — Unamed
GENDER — Filly
MONTH BORN — January
LINEAGE — Galileo x Missvinski
PEDIGREE — Dam is a listed winning Daughter of Champion sprinter Stravinsky. Sire Galileo has now sired an unbelievable 1653 individual race winners and is a 12 time Champion Sire.
SIBLINGS — G1 Winner Peaceful, Listed Winner Easter, Race Winners El Greco, & Ataman
Ermak.
TRAINER — A.P.O’Brien
OWNER — Coolmore
COLOURS CARRIED — TBC
AOBFS THOUGHTS — This fillies full sister Peaceful won the Irish 1000 Guineas in 2020 and finished 3rd behind Fancy Blue in the Prix de Diane (French Oaks) Group 1 and was also the runner up in the Matron Stakes Group 1 she was a very classy filly. Her other full sister ran in Group 1 company over 12 furlongs and was Group Race placed over ten furlongs.
We really could be looking at anything distance wise with this filly she could be a Guineas or Oaks type and chances are she will be a classic contender in 2024.
