This is Eoin Walsh…. Eoin is part of Robert Cowells team with Jonathan Fisher and has ridden many winners in the past few season’s. I will let Eion take you through this interview……

1 – What has been the highlight of your career so far?

I’ve still yet to ride a nice Saturday winner but it would be a toss up between riding a winner in Chantilly recently or finishing 2nd in a listed race in Germany although I didn’t win it was a great experience riding in a foreign country for Sheikh Juma.

2- Having raced at plenty of track’s, do you have a favourite?

I love Haydock, it’s a nice fair galloping track.

3 – Can you tell us the difference between riding at Southwell, compared to the other All Weather Tracks?

The kickback at Southwell is like no other, if you’re sat in behind the leaders you could easily go through 2 sets of goggles. It’s a lot slower surface compared to the others and it’s a very difficult place to come from off the pace, ideally you need to be near the front out of the kickback .

4 – Who is the Joker in the weighing room?

Jimmy Quinn. You never know what he’s going to do next .

5 – What are the target’s for the season ahead?

I would love a big Saturday winner.
Unfortunately they’re hard to come by, other than that I just take every day as it comes.

6 – Can you give our readers a couple to follow for the season?

Jumira Bridge looks like he could be very competitive in the big sprint handicaps for my boss and also Blue De Vega who looked like he’s coming back to his old form with a big run at Newbury last time.

Quick fire….

Fav Drink? Gin and tonic
Fav Sport outside racing? Boxing
Fav Colour? Blue
Fav Music/Band? Ed Sheeran

And finally, if you were not a Jockey, what other profession would you have looked to get into?

I would love to train some day but unless you can get some big owners it isn’t realistic. Outside racing, I would of liked to have got into politics or I would of became an accountant.
