After writing the last Sea The Stars article, Charlie & myself decided to look at the difference between Galileo & Sea The Stars, half brothers from Urban Sea.
We were intrigued to see how far Sea The Stars progency was behind & that in time would their strike rate % be as good or better as galileo??!!

..
The 1st progency to win a race, was Stars Over The Sea, which on 7/5/13, won a maiden stakes contest over 7f at Ayr, a few months passed before Sea The Stars as a sire, could claim his 1st group winner, this came at the Curragh, when on 29/9/13, My Titania won the CL Weld Park Group 3 stakes.
Sea The Stars had to wait till the following season to claim a GROUP 1 WINNER.
It finally came, in Longchamp, France, from Vazira, in controversial circumstances as the original race winner was found to have a high level of testosterone, due to a tumour. But the wait in the UK wasn’t long, as filly Taghoogha won the Oaks, on 6/6/14 at Epsom.
This hailed the start of the GROUP winners for the Sea The Stars progency.
To date Sea The Stars has sired;
12 group 3 Winner’s
6 group 2 winners
And
5 group 1 winner’s
These include Harzand Double Derby winner , Taghoogha, Oaks winner . Sea the Moon, German Derby winner
& Stellar Mass, the oldest of the progency to win a group race, aged 5.
Sea the stars, certainly an offspring to follow in future years
Galileo and Sea The Stars are Quite similar in comparison regarding career races but Sea The Stars for us just shades it on class performance.We will explain in more detail why once we look at the performance of their offspring.
