It’s Monday….. And the Beast arrives!

Screenshot_20160713-220714_1

We had a deserved day away from the blog on Sunday, Saturday was a decent day again with some winners and some not so great… But now is not the time to look back but to go forward. With only a couple weeks to go until the first race at the Cheltenham Festival, most people will have their attention’s turned towards that. There is plenty of racing between now and then although with the forecast cold weather heading in from the East, it could hit racing quite hard depending on where in the country it hits. Hopefully it won’t be too bad and we can get some meetings on. You would like to think that the All Weather will be unaffected unless we have a decent amount of snow.

Firstly, we have a bit of housing keeping from Saturday…

Rich’s Nap – Utmost- Unplaced

Peoples Nap – Goring – Won SP 11/4

.

Charlie’s Saturday Results

Monbeg Legend -Finished 10th and was a loss.

Orvar –Finished 6th and was a loss.

Pivotal Flame –Finished 11th and was a loss.

.

Charlie’s Monday Selections

.2018-02-26-07-31-49

.Bulls Head -Winner last time out at Newcastle over 2m, although this is considerably tougher a chance is taken on the win here as the 2m 4f and 100y should be within reach as has raced over 2m 5f before.

Win Advised

.

.La Fortuna -Winner last time out at Chelmsford over 6f in a Class 7 race. Runner up had won since and although has been raised 3lb, can still get involved in this race and another bold run can’t be ruled out.

Win Advised

.

.Sky Full Of Stars -Won a Class 5 Handicap Chase at Ayr last month over 2m, was then 4th at Ayr again over 2m in a Class 4 Handicap Chase, latest 2nd at Newcastle came over 2m in a Class 5 Handicap Hurdle 8 days ago and if repeating that here should be enough to take this race.

Win Advised

.Well that’s my thoughts on Monday’s Selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you back over to Rich for his Nap and Finding’s.

Rich’s Finding’s

Rich has taken a look at the two All Weather Cards starting at Lingfield in the afternoon before an evening meeting at Wolverhampton.. So let’s crack on.

Whispering Sands(1.55) makes her race course debut over 1m 2f in the Fillies’ Maiden, the daughter of Dubawi is out of Mare Roses for the Lady, who was a runner up in the Irish Oaks. Interesting debutant.

Mouchee(4.00) was only beaten 1/2 a length in a Class 6 1m 4f contest last time out on February 17th, that was a second try over this distance, having finished 3rd in a Class 5 over C/D on February 3rd, is today 3rd time lucky?

And now we move onto Wolverhampton(AW) in the evening

Rich’s Nap – 6.15 – Fillies’ Novice Stakes – Class 5 – 3YO Only 6f 20y

Poetic Imagination – Has run 3 times since joining Archie Watson from John Gosden, all 3 on AW but two over 5f. Finished a 3 & 1/4 length 3rd on Yard debut in a 5f contest before running a 2 & 1/2 length runner up last time out at Lingfield . The run in between was a 6f class 4 handicap on February 14th, when winning by 2 lengths from Snaffled, who has since won at Newcastle. Returns now to a winning distance and has Oisin Murphy booked to ride – 2/1 WIN

As for the rest of the card, Aquarium(6.45) who was a 2 length 3rd on debut over 1m at Kempton(AW) back on January 10th. Landed a 1m Class 6 Novice Stakes at Lingfield by 1 length on January 27th, has been raised 4 and steps up another Furlong and a half

And finally Reckless Wave(7.45) Returned a winner on first run for 226 days, when winning a second C/D victory(1m 4f) having won back in May in a Class 6 contest. Returned in a C/D Class 5 contest to beat Acker Bilk by 2 & 3/4 lengths and runs under a penalty.

That’s all for today folks, thanks for popping by and we look forward to hearing from you!

All the best – Charlie & Rich

It’s Saturday

IMG_20160217_124222

Hello and welcome back to another Saturday edition of Arseonlinetips from Rich and Charlie. We have a jammed pack blog again for you with the return on the Peoples Nap, Charlie’s Selections, Rich’s Nap and Final Word, so with a lot to get through, I will not bore you any more and just crack on…..

Peoples Nap Choices –

Lingfield(AW) – Standard

1.30 – Novice Stakes – Class 5 – 3YO Only – 1m 1y

Carouse – Two wins from two runs at this course. Won a Class 5, 7f maiden by 1 & 1/4 lengths from Daltrey in January before landing a C/D claimer by 6 lengths and moved to Jamie Osborne. This is first run for new yard – 2/1

3.50 – Handicap – Class 2 – 1m 1y

Goring – Since going from 6f to 1m has improved no end, with 3 wins from 3 starts over C/D including two in this class. Won last time out on January 13th by a neck and is raised 3 – 9/4

Chepstow – Soft

1.55 – Maiden Hurdle – Class 4 – 2m 3f 100y

Mount Rushmore – 3/4’s of length runner up on hurdle debut at Exeter in a Class 4 Novice Hurdle over 2m 2f, had every chance but hung left. Sure to come on for that experience on February 11th – 6/4

That’s the PN Choices, on to Charlie’s Saturday Selection’s … Come on Dancer, give us ya winners from yesterday and the Selections for today….

.

Cheers Rich, lets kick things off with a recap of Friday’s performance.

Mouteka -Was pulled up and was a loss.

Mimram -Won by a nose from odds on oli who pushed Mimram all the way to the line Advised at 4-1 returned at 6-1

Knockgraffon -Made a mistake at the 12th and finished 4th as a result and was a loss.

.Just the one winner again although would take 6-1 for my nap any day especially when it’s advised at 4’s. Hopefully get more of the same from my selections for Saturday and you can find those below.

2018-02-24-10-25-21

Monbeg Legend -Has 3 wins and a 2nd place from 4 runs, losing his unbeaten record at Taunton last time can be attributed to unsuitable ground. Gets his ideal conditions today and can resume winning ways here and make amends for that 2nd last time out.

Win Advised

.

Orvar – Won at Kempton in October last year over 5f. Then was moved yards and had been gelded and had a wind op before winning first time out for new connections at Wolverhampton over 5f again. Has an outside draw to contend with here but given the form of last two runs has to enter calculations in a slightly tougher race.

Win Advised

.

Pivotal Flame – Has won last two races here over 1m 2f. Is only 2lb higher today and the hat-trick looks within reach considering the form of those last two races. Paddy Bradley takes 5lb off with his claim and that just adds to the appeal in this race.

Win Advised

.

Well that’s my thoughts on Saturday’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you back over to Rich for his Nap and Final Word.

Rich’s Nap –

Lingfield(AW) – 3.15 – Winter Derby Stakes – Group 3 Class 1 – 1m 2f

Utmost – 3rd to Petite Jack in a Class 1 listed C/D race, beaten 1/2 a length on first run over this distance after stepping up from 1m. Won over C/D last time out on February 3rd, in a Class 1 Listed race by 1 & 1/4 lengths from Victory Bond. Drawn in Stall 2 – 5/1 WIN

Rich’s Nap Result(Friday) – High Anxiety – Unplaced & a loss

Final Word –

Plenty to go through on a Friday night, lots of cards, here’s what I found…..

Were start at Kempton, where Malaya(2.25) has a chance in the grade 2 Juvenile Hurdle. the French Listed winner has since won a Listed contest for new trainer Paul Nicholls by 4 lengths and was runner up last time out on December 9th, in tough conditions at Aintree, has had a short break and with form figures reading 1/2/1/2/1/2 should go well on better ground today.

Another I like is the returning PYM(4.25) for Nicky Henderson, a winner on NH Flat debut back in April 2017, when beating Cool Mix(More on that later) by 4 lengths and has been off since. That was a 2m Class 3 contest and returns in a 2m Class 5 NH Flat race.

Newcastle hold a nice NH Card and as I referred to Cool Mix(3.55) since finishing runner up to PYM, has finished runner up another couple of times over hurdles before landing a 2m Kelso Class 4 Novice Hurdle by 3 lengths on January 25th and runs from bottom weight today with the guidance of Champion Jockey Richard Johnson, now stepping up to Class 2 company.

At Chepstow, Sainte Ladylime(3.40) drops from Grade 2 to Class 2 after finishing a distant runner up last time out to La Bague Au Roi in a Ascot G2 Hurdle over 2m 7f(Today’s distance), while 4th in that race Midnight Tune has since won a Grade 2 contest.

And finally, a tracker of mine runs at Fairyhouse in  the Grade 3 Juvenile 2m Hurdle for 4 year olds only,. Mitchouka(1.45) who has 3 wins from 6 hurdle starts and has been unlucky in the last 2 Graded races, finishing runner up & 3rd before landing a 2m C/D hurdle by 8 lengths on January 14th & is likely to go off ODDS ON!

That’s your lot folks. Thanks for popping in and having a look around the joint, let’s hope it’s another good Saturday and we all have some winners.

Remember to only bet what you can afford to lose, if not just watch.

All the best – Charlie & Rich

Nap here….. Nap there… Nap’s Everywhere!

screenshot_20170108-235341_1

Nap’s at the Double….. Charlie’s Nap wins….. Rich finally lands a Nap at the 3rd attempt…. It’s the countdown to the weekend, Rich unleashes a Nap again & the PN will be back on Twitter tomorrow night for a big day of racing on Saturday. But first thing’s first, let’s crack on with Friday’s racing.

Rich’s Nap – Wolverhampton(AW) – 5.45 – Apprentice Handicap – Class 7 – 6f 20y

High Anxiety – Nothing special last year, had a break of 137 days & a wind operation while away from the track and returned at Southwell(AW) in a Class 6, 6f Handicap on February 6th, finishing in a Dead Heat for 2nd, beaten by 3/4’s of a length from Shelneverwalkalone and 5th place has since won. This is the 2nd start since return and drops to class 7 – WIN  5/1

Rich Nap Result – Great Return – Won, with a hands & heels ride & will win again soon.  3/1 SP

It’s over to Charlie, who will take you through today’s Selections and yesterday’s results….. I will see you for Final Word….

Cheers Rich, let’s get straight down to Thursday’s results listed below.

Avocet -Won as expected Advised at 9-4 returned at 3-1

Simply Business -Was pulled up and was a loss.

Mighty Zip -finished a disappointing 8th and was another loss.

Just the one winner from the 3 selections I put up on Thursday,  hopefully get a better result from Friday’s Selections listed below.

.

Friday’s Selections

2018-02-22-23-50-30

Mouteka -Had been going well until last two races where encountering heavy ground at Uttoxeter and having jumping issues at Bangor in the previous race, makes handicap debut and if the jumping errors have been corrected could easily get involved here for P Hobbs with Richard Johnson doing the steering.

Win Advised

.

Mimram -Was 2nd last time out at Chelmsford over 7f that was first run after having a Wind op, goes up in trip here to 1m 1y and could be hard to beat if getting an early lead.

Win Advised

.

Knockgraffon -Fell last time out at Wetherby over 2m 3f on heavy ground. Had won race prior to that at Musselburgh over 2m 3f on soft ground beating Upsilon Bleu by 1 and 1/4 length if jumping a clean round should be involved here on better ground than encountered at Wetherby.

Win Advised

.

Well that’s my thoughts on Friday’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you over to Rich for The Final Word.

.

Final Word –

Just a couple of note today, both run at Lingfield on the All Weather in the afternoon.

Rock on Baileys(3.20) has been inspired since dropping back from 6f to 5f on November 15th, when finishing a 1/2 length runner up to Lord of the Glen in a Class 6, 5f Handicap at Newcastle(AW)Won on final start of 2017 at Chelmsford on November 23rd, in a 5f class 6 handicap by 3 & 3/4’s of a length before taking 83 days off. Returned on February 14th, to land another 5f, Class 6 Handicap at Wolverhampton(AW) by 5 lengths, now up in class and carries a 6Lb penalty. Is likely to go off ODDS ON as was 4/7 when this was written.

Another I ,like is Perfect Illusion(4.25) who was very impressive when winning on debut over C/D (1m 4f) by 12 lengths, under a hands & hells ride from Oisin Murphy and steps up in class. Sired by Nathaniel and runs with 9s 6lb, which is 2nd top weight. The top rated horse in is rated 74 and Perfect Illusion, could on first viewing be well above that. Was 11/10 when this was written and I would imagine, it will go off ODDS ON!

Thanks for popping by folks

Remember only bet what you can afford to lose, if not just watch

All the Best – Charlie & Rich

Thumping Thursday

2018-02-22-07-50-07

Wednesday was billed as Winnersday and not a sausage…… Rich’s Nap was beat fair and square, finishing in 4th and Charlie’s Double, was down after the first leg… We hope to be back on track today. So let’s get started….

Rich’s Nap –

Southwell(AW) – 4.55 – Stayers Handicap – Class 4 – 1m 6f 21y

Great Return – Having won the last 2 starts, both at Wolverhampton(AW). Stepped up to 2m on February 5th in a Class 6 Handicap, when winning by 7 lengths from Temasek Star and followed that win up on February 14th, when landing a Class 5, 1m 6f Handicap again at Wolves(AW) from Brigadoon by 4 lengths, when carrying a penalty. Carries a penalty again today. Now runs from 75, but will return to 69 after this race – WIN 3/1

Rich’s Nap Result – Native Appeal – 4th & Unplaced

I will hand you over to Charlie to take you through todays Selections and a quick reminder of yesterday’s result…. I will see you for Final Word ….

Cheers Rich, We will start with a recap on Wednesday’s performance.

French Crusader – Was an unlucky 2nd and my advised double failed on leg one and was a loss.

War Creation -Was pulled up and was also a loss.

. Not what I had expected with French Crusader finishing 2nd and War Creation being pulled up meaning my advised double was a losing one, hopefully get back on track with Thursday’s selections listed below.

2018-02-21-23-54-06

Avocet -Still a Maiden after 11 stats although was 3rd at Lingfield on January over 1m 2f in a Class 6 race. Was then 5th at Kempton over 1m 3f again in a Class 6 race. Yard are doing well at the moment and the step up in distance to 1m 4f 14y could spark an improvement here.

Win Advised

.

Simply Business -Lightly raced and although hasn’t won for a while, pulled hard on several occasions and has failed to get involved in class 4 and class 5 handicaps recently. Wears first time tongue tie and if settling better could grab a place at 7-1.

Eachway Advised

.

Mighty Zip -4 time course winner who has failed to get off the mark this winter. Won this race last year and has slipped below that winning mark. Was behind a couple of today’s rivals over 6f last time out and could easily win this race over 5f today although iv opted for the Eachway as a safer option.

Eachway Advised

.

Well that’s my thoughts on Thursday’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you over to Rich for The Final Word.

.

Final Word –

When the new Wind Operation declaration rules were introduced, everyone was happy as it was useful information for punters, as sometimes, not every time a horse can win straight after a Wind Operation. This happened yesterday at Newcastle, the difference this time, was this it had been undeclared by the Trainer until arriving at the race course. The trainer was fined a reduced rate for being honest, that it was an oversight. The information was released to the public as soon as the Stewards were aware and the Trainer landed a winner at odds of 25/1…. Happy Punters?? Rules are Rules…. Can of Worms I say!

Back to the racing….. Kate Appleby Shoes(2.25 Thurles) runs in a Mares’ Chase on her third start in this sphere, having won on Chase debut over 2m 3f and then finished 4th, when stepped up to Grade 2 at this Course over 2m 4f. Now steps up to 3m for the first time.

Back at Southwell on the AW, Foolaad(3.45) arrives here having won the last 3 over C/D(6f) on Jan 23rd in a class 2 by a neck & then when dropped back to Class 3 on February 6th to win again by a neck.

In the evening, another AW meeting takes place at Chelmsford & Very Honest(7.00) will be looking to make it two wins in a row, after winning on February 10th when beating Born to Finish by a short head over 6f, Born to Finish & 4th place Brother Tiger have both since won since.

Another in great from is Surrey Blaze(8.30) who won on return from a break at Wolves(AW) over 1m 142y after stepping up from 7f, winning by a neck. Followed that up on January 18th, to win over C/D (1m 2f) by 2 & 3/4 lengths

Thanks for popping by folks… We hope this helps…..

Remember only bet what you can afford to lose… If not just watch

All the Best – Charlie & Rich

Winnersday

Ludlow Racecourse

That wasn’t the start Rich had hoped for now starting his Daily Nap, but he is undeterred and as always, onwards and upwards. Charlie return’s today & a Full blog, so with out too much fuss……. Charlie will kick us off today with his Wednesday Winners

Charlie…… Cheers Rich it’s nice to be back after a couple days rest, although I only found a couple I liked for Wednesday and instead of singles I’m advising a win double on the two selections as they are both 2-1 and at time of writing the double pays 8-1 with bet365 so let’s get straight down to those.

2018-02-20-20-58-26

French Crusader -Won on debut at Huntingdon over 1m 5f back in November last year, was then sent to Doncaster in January to race over 2m and was 5th looks open to improvement and the step up in distance to 2m 3f 88y should suit.

Win Advised

.

War Creation -Has won Twice from last 4 runs finished 4th in the other two races, the first of those victorys came here at Ludlow back in April last year over 1m 7f, was then sent to Perth and finished 4th over 2m. Next race was at Bangor in October and finished 4th over 2m 3f. Latest victory came at Haydock in December over 2m 2f beating Dulce Panem by 6 length. Goes up In distance to 2m 5f and has been raised an extra 5lb for latest win but Ned Curtis claim of 5lb means it’s still on same mark as last time and another bold run looks likely.

.

Win Advised

.Well that’s my thoughts on Wednesday’s selections, Good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you over to Rich for His Nap and Final Word.

.

Rich’s Daily Nap  –

Newcastle(AW) – Standard.

2.05 – Novice Stakes – Class 5 – 3YO Only – 1m 2f 42y

Native Appeal – Winner over 1m at Kempton(AW) on December 20th before finishing a 2 length runner up at this course over 1m in a Class 4  Novice Stakes on January 11th. Stepped up last time out to 1m 2f, when finishing 1/2 length runner up  at Lingfield on January 19th. Andrea Atzeni takes over the reigns from Tom Marquand – WIN 6/4

Tuesday’s Daily Nap – Warburton – 4th. Will win soon.

Final Word –

Sadly, yesterday was a bit of a wash out and I am hoping for a lot better today. Although the highlight was Reine De Miracles finishing 3rd at odds of 33/1. I had backed it at 50/1 & looks like a bit of an improver by the way the race finished. So let’s see what tomorrow brings ….

Ludlow has a decent NH card and the 1.50 Maiden Hurdle over 1m 7f, I like the look of Donald McCain’s Pastoral Music, who finished 12 lengths runner up to Silver Conchord at Musselburgh on debut on December 18th, the winner has since won again and Pastoral, should improve from that first run. Could well out run the double figure odds( 10/1) when this was written.

A definite improver is Vocaliser(4.40) who has won 3 and finished runner up twice from the last 5 runs, winning the last two including last time out at Taunton over 2m 2f and is raised 5 for that win. Drops back to 1m 8f and looks to be heading the right way.

And finally at Punchestown,State of Nirvana(1.55) I have been following this horse since it’s debut 4th over C/D (2m) on November 3rd. Finished 3rd last time out on December 27th, in a 2m 2f maiden hurdle at Limerick on bottomless ground, although beaten by 32 lengths, the runner up was 7 lengths clear of State but has since won twice. Could well out run the double figure odds( 12/1) when this was written.

That’s all today Folks, thanks for popping by.

All the best Charlie & Rich

The not so Special One….

It is with sadness that I am able to tell you that the Peoples Nap is taking a back seat, it will ONLY now be on Friday’s as of today and it will return DAILY during the big Racing Meetings, such as Cheltenham, AW Championships, Dubai Carnival etc. I have been thinking about this for a while and I would like to thank everybody for their support and for voting everyday, it’s not the end, just an evolution…. Charlie is having another day away, so it’s just me today and my Debut  – Daily Nap

wolverhampton

Rich’s Daily Nap –

Wolverhampton(AW) – 6.40 – Novice Stakes – Class 5 – 3YO Only – 1m 1f 104y

Warburton – The 3 Year old Dawn Approach gelding makes race course debut for Charlie Appleby and is Half Brother to Bow & Arrow. Receives 8Lb from Desert Wind, who arrives on a Hatrick – WIN – 5/2

Yesterday’s PN Result – The Special One – 4th & Unplaced

_45557693_racegoers_416_pa

Final Word –

As I keep saying, this segment of the blog, just keeps producing winners & yesterday was no different, with the winner of the Sussex National The Artful Cobbler, as well as 3 other’s. One of the other PN Choices also won, so let’s hope we can keep this going!

With 3 cards in the UK today, we will start at Taunton, with ODDS ON Favourite Esprit De Somoza(2.10) who won last time out in a Class 2 Juvenile Hurdle at Huntingdon by 5 lengths from Gumball, and 5th has since won in this class, drops from Class 2 to Class 4 and runs for the 3rd time over 2m.

Our Merlin(3.45) has finished 2nd and 3rd last two runs in Class 2 Handicap Hurdles, 3rd on January 27th at Cheltenham, over 2m and with 4th place La Patriote since winning, has a cracking chance to get a victory in this 2m Class 2 Handicap Hurdle.

Over at Wetherby, Sue Smith and Danny Cook team up with Flemerina(2.30) in this 2m 5f, Class 5 Novice Handicap Chase. Placed on both Chase starts to date, when finishing runner up on January 12th, over 2m 3f and looks to have found a nice race, now stepping up another 2f.

Another ODDS ON shot runs in the Novice Hurdle over 2m 3f at 3.00, with Rosmuc Relay a ready 19 length winner on debut over 2m 4f at Leicester and runs under a penalty.

An interesting runner in the 3.35 is Pistol Park, who has been running in Class 3 races and was last seen finishing 4thn at Haydock on December 23rd, having previously finished 2nd of 3 over C/D(1m 7f). 2nd & 3rd from the Haydock race have both since won and Pistol Park, returns from 59 days away from the track, having had Wind Surgery.

And Finally, you have my Daily Nap, another that was very interesting at Wolverhampton, is a Jonjo O’Neill runner Reine Des Miracles in the Fillies’ Novice Stakes at 7.40. The reason it caught my eye, was simply because this is a 7F race and the Mare was last seen on January 9th, being Pulled Up at Doncaster, in a Class 5 Handicap Hurdle over 3m…. Now runs over 7f…

Thank you all for your continued support, we are really grateful.

Remember to only bet what you can afford & Rich’s Daily Nap is Subject to P/L, which will be on my page at the end of each month.

All the best – Charlie & Rich

Monday Madness

IMG_20160217_124222

Saturday was a strange day for us here, with both the PN & other Choice both finishing 2nd, while 3 from the 4 noted in Final Word managed to win! Charlie drew a blank after being in very good form. It’s a new week and we intend to get back to where wee were last week, so let’s crack on….

Peoples Nap Choices –

Carlisle – Soft, Heavy in Places

2.00 – Novice Hurdle – Class 4 – 2m 3f 61y

Ballinslea Bridge – Runner up on first two starts over hurdles before landing a 2m 2f, Class 4 Novice Hurdle at Market Rasen by 6 lengths from Absolutely Dylan, who has since won – 3/1

Kempton(AW) – Standard

6.50 – Fillies’ Handicap – Class 5 – 7f

The Special One – 3rd twice in December by 1 & 1/2 lengths over 7f at Lingfield, before finishing Runner Up last time out, again at Lingfield by a neck to Natalie Express in a Class 5, 7f Handicap – 10/3

8.20 – Handicap – Class 5 – 1m 8f

Western Way – Two from Two over distance, having won by 1 length at Chelmsford on January 11th in a Class 6 Handicap before winning again last time out on February 1st over C/D by 2 & 1/4 lengths. Adam Kirby has been on board for both runs and retains the hot seat today – 13/8

PN Result(Saturday) – Presenting Percy – 2nd….

Charlie is having a day away but is here to give you his results from Saturday

2018-02-17-10-26-07

The Dutchman -Was pulled up as only 3 runners from a field of 8 completed this race and was a loss.

Make Music -Led before being headed inside final furlong and couldn’t find anything more and was another loss.

Templeross -Finished a disappointing 9th capping off a horrendous day with yet another loss.

.Well Saturday didn’t go as planned after being in good form prior to the weekend, hopefully get back on track once races improve possibly Tues or Wednesday at the latest. I will pass you back over to Rich for The Final Word.

.

Final Word –

This segment had 3 winners from 4 noted, it seems to be a common theme…. Maybe time will see how we go and whether the PN is worth bothering with. Maybe I will go and just have a Nap of the day and put the rest in here… I don’t know what will happen, maybe just have the PN for big festivals???

Anyway back to Monday and we will start at Lingfield, where Fleminport(3.15) will go off a short price favourite, when trying to make it two wins on the spin after landing a Hereford Class 4 Maiden Novice Hurdle over 2m 5f by a head and now drops back in trip to 2m 3f.

The Surrey National  and I like the look of The Artful Cobbler(3.50) who has won two on the bounce and is entered with a low weight going up from a previous win in Class 4 Company by 2 lengths from Talk of The South and that was after being stepped up in trip from 2m 7f to 3m 1f and with today’s 3m 4f trip looking to bring out more improvement in this unexposed horse after only 3 previous Chase runs……

Another last time out winner looking to add another victory is Blottos(3.35 Carlisle) for Sue Smith and Danny Cook, makes handicap debut after winning a Class 4 Novice Hurdle by 3 lengths, making it two wins and a runner up spot from the last 3 runs.

Kempton hold an AW evening meeting and American Gigolo(5.50) is likely to go off a short price favourite, having finished runner up on AW debut on return from a Wind Operation before winning last time out over 1m 4f(today’s distance) to win a Class 4, 1m 4f Maiden by 2 & 3/4 lengths. Fran Berry has been on board for both previous rides and continues the partnership today.

Going Native(7.20) has finished in the first 3 on the last 3 runs, last time out was runner up over 7f after two 3rd places over 1m  and now goes back up to 1m in the hope that this will be a winning run and is likely to go off a decent EW price(8/1) when this was written……

That’s all for today folks, please if you follow keep stakes small, as these are just notes!

All the Best – Charlie & Rich

Stunning Saturday

cv9i3xlwcaampcw

Cheers Rich, let’s start with a look at Thursday’s results,

Taxmeifyoucan -Won as expected Advised at 7-2 Returned at 11-2 after taking a drift in the betting.

Cyrus Darius -Won as expected Advised at 11-4 returned at 5-2.

Landecker -Finished 5th and was a loss.

Another good day on Thursday with 2 out of the 3 selections I put up winning, please remember you can’t win every day so keep stakes sensible and hopefully we get another good day on Saturday, and on that note please find selections for Saturday listed below.

2018-02-17-10-26-07

The Dutchman -Has been consistent on the whole with 2 places and a win from last 6 races, including winning last time out at Haydock over 3m 1f on heavy ground, that was 3rd run after having a wind operation and can get involved again here if in the same mood.

Win Advised

.

Make Music -Loves Lingfield and won on only start over 6f here back in March last year, has been racing over 7f since without winning, drops back to 6f and has same jock on board for previous victory over course and distance and another bold run is expected today.

Win Advised

.

Templeross -Front runner who has been a bit hit and miss form wise, was mainly running over further without really getting involved, Although was 3rd here over 2m 3f last February new headgear tried today and a chance is taken on the win.

Win Asvised

.Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will hand you over to Rich for The Final Word.

Final Word –

This section has a nasty habit of finding winners, with two nice winners last Saturday. I’m not sure we can match that today, but here goes anyway…With there being loads of racing, I have tried to be a bit selective.

Count Meribel(Ascot 1.15) Drops back to class 2 company, where he last won at this course on November 25th in this class over 2m 5f. Had a couple of runs in Graded company, finishing Runner up in a Cheltenham Grade 2 Hurdle before running poorly at Wincanton in a Grade 3 Hurdle and could have too much for the rest.

But one at the very top of their game is Bryony Frost & Black Corton(Ascot 1.50) with 4 wins from the last 5 and reversing a defeat to Elegant Escape by turning the form around last time out when winning the Kauto Star Novice Chase at Kempton last time out.

Over in Ireland, Jessica Harrington sends Forge Meadow(Gowran 3.10) in a Grade 3 Hurdel, Meadow has been runner up last two runs including last time out on January 28th, when beaten a neck in a Naas Grade 3 and is a nice EW chance

I only really found one that caught my eye on the All Weather at Lingfield, where Brother Tiger(2.20) runs in a Class 4, 5f sprint Handicap. Having finished runner up three times, twice at Southwell and once over C/D on February 3rd. Poor 4th last time out over C/D but is now rated 1 below his last win mark of 77 and has Fran Berry on board.

That’s your lot folks, thanks for popping by.

Remember to only bet what you can afford, if not just watch the top class racing.

All the best – Charlie & Rich

Two outta Three ain’t bad….

Kelso Racecourse
Kelso Racecourse

A follower coined the phrase ‘Meatloaf’ when you have  2 out of 3 winners and that was certainly the case yesterday as Charlie had to go it alone, due to Rich feeling unwell. Rich is back today, with Final Word but let’s crack on and let Charlie tell you about Winnersday and take you through his 3 for Thursday…..

Cheers Rich, well Wednesday definitely was Winnersday with 2 out of the 3 selections put up winning so I guess it’s best to start with a round up of those.

Badilou -Was a bit of a let down blundered badly 3 out and was soon pulled up and was a loss.

.

Nefyn Bay -I did say in my write up that I couldn’t see Nefyn being beaten and I was right won well beating Dutch Canyon by 1 and 1/4 length, Advised at 5-2 returned a nice 4-1 after taking a drift in the market.

.

Pivotal Flame -Even though it had a wide draw to contend with, mentioned in my write up , it travelled well just managing to get up on the nod winning by a nose from Rowlestonerendezvu, Advised at 4-1 returned at 6-1 after drifting in the market.

.Not a bad days work with both my winners taking a drift in price meaning more returned as a result, I will gladly take that any day. Now time to get back on track with Thursday’s selections from Kelso and you can read about those below.

2018-02-14-23-14-29

Taxmeifyoucan -Won at Hamilton over 1m 3f in a Class 5 handicap, was then sent to Haydock to contest a Class 2 handicap over 1m 6f and won again, disappointed next time out at Haydock in a Class 3 handicap over 1m 6f when finishing 6th, sports cheekpieces today over hurdles for first time although has won wearing those previously on the flat and a bold run is expected here.

Win Advised

.

Cyrus Darius -Won at Ayr in November in a Class 3 Handicap Chase over 2m 4f, was then 4th at Haydock in a Class 2 Chase over 2m 5f. Was 3rd in a Class 2 handicap Chase over 1m 7f latest. Won this race last season and although is higher in the weights this time around a chance is taken that the win is obtainable.

Win Advised

.

Landecker -Was 2nd here back in November in a Class 3 handicap hurdle over 3m 1f. Was then sent to Carlisle to contest a Class 2 Handicap Hurdle over 3m and was 6th. Latest victory came here in January over 3m 1f in a Class 3 Handicap Hurdle. I feel this race is winnable especially seeing previous course form looks solid and a chance is taken on the win here.

Win Advised

.Well that’s my thoughts on Thursday’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you back over to Rich for the Final Word.

Final Word –

Congrats to Charlie, in my absence. I was feeling unwell and needed to rest, but I am back today and ready to deliver Final Word, taking in Meydan, Kelso and Chelmsford in the evening ….

So were start with the only NH horse that caught my eye, running in the 3.00 at Kelso over 2m 7f and drops from Grade 3 Company to Class 2. Shantou Flyer has been running in Grade 3 for a year but has been unlucky, he was a 17 length runner up last time on in January in a Grade 3 Chase at Cheltenham over 2m 4f to Frodan and now steps back up in trip and drops to class 2 Company, in the hope of a morale boosting win.

Over in Meydan, Best Solution(3.05) will be looking to step up on his season return at this course on January 11th, when finishing a 1 length 3rd to Golden Wood, who re opposes again today but had already had a couple of runs. The runner up Gold Star has also since won and best Solution is sure to improve for the outing in this Class 1 1m 4f Turf Handicap.

Don’t Give Up(3.40) Won over C/D(Handicap, Class 1 over 1m 2f on the Dirt) on season return on January 25th by 1 & 3/4’s of a length, with Saltarin Dubai(2nd) and Alabaster(3rd). Christophe Soumillon takes over the reigns today from Gerard Mosse.

Back in the UK, the evening meeting is at Chelmsford on the AW, I think Sir Hamilton(7.00), who won here over 1m in a Class 5 Novice Stakes on December 15th by 3 lengths to break his maiden, then stepped up again to win at Kempton(AW) last time out, again in a 1m Class 5 Novice Stakes from Briscola, who along with 3rd & 4th have all since won since and now Sir Hamilton, steps up an extra 2f to 1m 2f, in this Class 5, 3YO Only Novice Stakes contest.

That’s all for today folks, thanks for popping by

All the Best – Charlie & Rich

Winnersday

Musselburgh racecourse

With a better selection of cards to digest and Rich having a day or Two’s rest, it’s just me you have to put up with, let’s hope today lives up to the headline and delivers us some Winners for Wednesday, so without further adieu let’s get straight down to my selections listed below.

2018-02-13-22-49-09

Badilou -Yet to get off the mark in the UK, although was a fair 3rd last time out at Chepstow in a Class 5 Handicap Chase over 2m 3f. Has raced over 2m 5f before and was 8th at Exeter so the distance shouldn’t be an issue as that was first run after falling at Ludlow in race prior to that. Is more than capable of winning off this mark and hopefully tomorrow is the day to turn that corner.

Win Advised

.

Nefyn Bay -To be honest can’t see Nefyn being beat on Wednesday, won a Class 4 Handicap Chase over 2m 3f here last month, reverts to hurdles and has gone up in distance for Wednesday’s race and could fire in a quick double if taking to the extra yardage this race throws up.

Win Advised

.

Pivotal Flame -Won last month here over 1m 2f in a Class 6 Handicap, has gone up another 4lb for that but has won off higher mark in the past, another bold display can’t be ruled out even with a poor draw to overcome and a chance is taken on the win.

.

Well that’s my thoughts on Wednesday’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket.

All the best Charlie and Rich
