Thumping Thursday…..

Wednesday was another place for the PN 3rd this time, let’s hope today is better & less stressful for us here on the blog, more to come later…. But first the PN Choices –

Peoples Nap Choices

Bath – Good to Firm

4.10 – Fillies’ Maiden – Class 5 – 1m

Chalky – Debut 2nd to UAE Queen at Yarmouth over 7f, stepped up in trip to the Mile last time out at Salisbury in a class 5 maiden, only beaten by a head in 3rd place in a blanket finish – 11/4

.

Musselburgh – Good to Firm

5.10 – Handicap – Class 6 – 5f 1y

Hadley – Has held form well, placing in the previous 6 runs prior to a class 6 handicap win at Thirsk by 5 lengths from Spirit of Zebedee, who has since won a class 6 handicap at Catterick – 15/8

.

Wolverhampton (AW) – Standard

6.10 – Maiden – Class 5 – 1m 1f 140y

Hyperloop – Improved for each run, placing in all 3. Beaten a head by High End(Since won twice) in a 1m class 4 maiden at Chelmsford, up in trip & down in class – 11/8

.

PN Result(Wednesday) – Magical Effect – 3rd

.

Over to Charlie now for his thoughts on today & his results from Wednesday & I will see you for Final Thought –

Cheers Rich, let’s get straight down to Wednesday’s Results :

Je Suis Charlie -Won as expected advised at 4-1

Amadoue –Was 3rd and was a loss.

See You Mush –Was beaten by a length into 2nd and was a loss.

. Just the one winner again from my 3 selections. Although the other two did place so I guess it was a tad unlucky not to get more back. Anyway enough about that let’s crack on with Thursday’s Selections listed below.

Thursday’s Selections

aviary-image-1504131870686

Claramara – was a close 2nd at Thirsk last time out over 7f, and if in same frame of mind could easily go one better in this handicap.

Win Advised

.

Cainhoe Star – Has two wins and two places from last 5 runs, including a course and distance victory here on the 7th July. Was disappointing at Newmarket last time out but that can be forgiven, and a chance is taken here to get back in winners enclosure.

Win Asvised

.

Envisaging – Has placed 3 times from last 5 races. Latest 3rd at Kempton when doing well from a wide draw over 7f is encouraging, if anywhere near that should be thereabouts in this similar race.

Win Advised

.

Well there you have my thoughts on Thursday’s races. Please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will hand you back over to Rich for his final word.

.

Rich’s Final Thought

Well it has certainly been an interesting day, sometimes people just say what they think & 140 characters is enough, but do you really get what they mean? Some time you only need 2 words…. I have recently had a block a few folk, not for being malicious to me, but some of the comments were to serve their own needs rather than a community that has one end…. Taking Cash from the Bookie! It’s up to anyone who they follow, I know where our loyalties lie & that is all we are bothered about.

Anyway enough about that, it’s all gone now…. This little part yesterday served up a few winners of what was left from the PN Choices …. Let’s see what I have left today……

A couple of AW cards, Chelmsford during the afternoon is a nice card, where London(1.50) returns for the season & was a course winner back in March, mean while at Musselburgh(2.00) Placebo Effect, drops back into Nursery class after a 3rd in a handicap & back to 7f, draw has been kind too, also Peach Melba(4.00) should also go well. And finally Beadlam(8.40) runs at Wolverhampton, finishing 3rd last time out over 1m & returns to a course that has yielded 2 course wins from the last 2 visit’s & has cracking EW value….

Wishful Wednesday…..

img_20160521_111244

Had a fantastic day out with the family on Monday & a PN winner too, couldn’t of asked for a better Bank Holiday Monday, well I could, a full house, but I will settle for a nice 5/2 winner…. & on that note, let’s take a look at today’s Choices –

Catterick – Good

3.20 – Handicap – Class 4 – 7f 7y

Magical Effect – Won a 6f class 4 at Redcar from Tricky Dicky(Monday PN Winner) before a 3rd at Ripon in the Silver Trophy(class 2), 4th & 9th have both since won – 7/2

.

Worcester – Good

5.05 – Handicap Chase – Class 3 – 2m 7f

Sonneofpresenting – Beaten 3/4’s of a length in 3rd at this trip last time out off this mark after 2 wins over 2m 5f since season return, making it 4 chase wins & 3 places from last 8 runs. Course & Class winner – 2/1

.

Kempton(AW) – Standard to Slow

7.55 – Handicap – Class 4 – 3YO Only – 1m 3f

Atkinson Grimshaw – 2nd last time out in a class 2 handicap at Newmarket over 1m 2f, only beaten 1 length by Thundering Blue, 3rd & 4th have both run in class 2 handicaps, with 4th winning & 3rd placing 2nd. Down in Class. Won on AW at Wolves – 15/8

.

PN Result(Monday) – Split Stakes – Tricky Dicky WON 5/2 &Dream Machine 3rd…… Only 1 winner, that will do nicely…..

Over to Charlie for his results & thoughts…. I will see you for Final Word –

Cheers Rich, let’s get straight down to Tuesday’s Results :

Lexington Grace – Won as expected advised at 11-2

Munfallet – Could only manage 3rd and was a loss.

Third Act – could only manage 3rd and was another loss.

. One winner from my 3 selections yesterday and at 11-2 ensured profit for the days efforts. We now move on to Wednesday’s selections and they can be located below.

Charlie’s Selections

aviary-image-1504076834099

Je Suis Charlie -Has been running in shorter distance races of late without winning. Although has placed 2nd over 1m 3f at Doncaster, and then placed 3rd over 1m 3f at Brighton. Has also placed 2nd over 1m 2f at Chester. But latest 5th over 1m 2f at Bath can be forgiven. I feel the extra yardage will see a return of form here in this slightly longer handicap and 4-1 is a fair price.

Win Advised

.

Amadoue – Was 4th on debut here over course and distance last month, race was slowly run and with normal progress could easily land this at second time of asking.

Win Advised

.

See You Mush – Won at Chelmsford in  April over 6f and was 2nd there latest again over 6f. If in same frame of mind today could be bang there come the business end of race and at 9-2 is a reasonable price.

Win Advised

.

Well that’s my thoughts on Wednesday’s races, Good Luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will hand you back over to Rich for his Final Word.

.

Rich’s Final Word

I was made aware of a couple of incidents over the weekend, one which looked like a slap/punch to a horse at Southwell…. The Racing Post have covered this extensively, their Editor told me yesterday…. So I sent him the link of what I had seen…. Although I doubt anything will come of it as it wasn’t as much hyped as the previous incident …. Anyway enough of that, let’s look at what else I found tomorrow – Catterick(2.50) Question of Faith has been bubbling along & looks to have a cracking chance after being beaten a head last time out. Major Valentine, although having a tough draw at Lingfield(3.40) steps up from 5 to 6f, with Tom Marquand replacing Ben Robinson, after a 2nd over this distance last time, I also like name sake Chunkyfunkymonkey(4.10). Kempton has a nice evening card & in the 6.25 Mundallel, a recent C/D winner could go well uafter being raised 8 for the win & may not be finished yet after the 3 & 3/L win. NH is starting to get going & Worcester hold a meeting with decent chances for Plato’s Kode(6.05) & Shanksamillion(6.35) already in the note book….

Good Luck folks, remember the sun will come out tomorrow….

Tuesday’s Thoughts

img_20160521_111244

No Rich again today as he was spending some quality time with his Family on the bank holiday, so it’s just my ramblings for the time being. So on that note we will kick things off with Monday’s Results.

Voice Of The North – Ran quite green on debut, but Penny dropped late on and ran on for 4th. Although it was a loss it will go in the tracker as it will have learned from that first experience.

Toast Of London – never really got involved and finished 3rd last and was a loss.

Gurkha Friend – started off ok, but ran out of steam finishing 6th and was another loss.

Not the day I was expecting with all 3 selections losing. It’s starting to become a habit now, hopefully get back on track with Tuesday’s selections listed below.

.

Tuesday’s Selections

aviary-image-1503959764159

Lexington Grace -Won at Newmarket over 7f on the 11th August in a class 5 seller. Goes into a handicap today and if in same frame of mind could go in again.

Win Advised

.

Munfallet – Won over 6f in final two starts last season. Has failed to replicate that this season so far. Has slipped to 7lbs lower than last win mark and could take this race if handling extra distance.

Win Asvised

.

Third Act – Winner over hurdles but has yet to convert that form to fences. Although was a close 2nd last time out here over 2m in a class 4 novice chase. Colin Tizzard’s horse can gain first victory over fences here at the expense of get ready freddy.

Win Advised

.

Well there you have my thoughts on Tuesday’s races. Good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small and hopefully end the day with some profit.

Monday Madness…..

Screenshot_2017-05-08-23-15-39_1

After a day of rest & recoup, the PN is back & so is Final Word….. So let’s crack on……

The Peoples Nap Choices

Southwell- AW – Fibresand

2.00 – Handicap – Class 5 – 6f 16y

Tricky Dicky – Won over C/D back in May by 2 lengths & has been running on turf since. 2 length 2nd last time out in a class 4 6f handicap at Redcar to Magical Effect, who has since placed in a class 2 handicap, while 5th Ninjagi has since won a class 4 handicap, drops in class – 5/2

.

Ripon – Good

2.45 – Handicap – Class 5 – 3YO Only – 1m 1f 170y

Dream Machine – Placed in last 5 runs after winning a class 5 1m 2f Haydock handicap by 3/4’s of a length. Two length 2nd last time out at Sandown over 1m 2f to Canberra Cliffs, who has since won a class 4 handicap – 9/2

.

Epsom – Good

5.25 – Handicap – Class 4 – 1m 113y

Lord Clenaghcastle – Two length C/D winner in July after a 2nd by a neck on season return. Won again at Brighton last time out in a class 4 handicap 2 lengths from Pendo, raised 7 for win – 15/8

.

PN Result(Saturday) – UAE Prince – Unplaced

Over to Charlie now for his thoughts & results from Sunday, I will catch you for Final Thought –

Cheers Rich, let’s get straight down to Sunday’s results :

Jive Lady – Finished 6th and was a loss.

Eynhollow – Finished 4th and was another loss.

Gold Spinner – Finished 6th and was yet another loss.

. Well Sunday didn’t go to plan with all 3 selections losing. Will just draw a line through that and go again with Monday’s Selections listed below.

aviary-image-1503871961627

Voice Of The North -€20,000 purchase as a yearling, is related to several winners in Germany and Johnston has a good strike rate with 2yr olds here at around 25% in recent seasons. I’m chancing the win here as breeding looks interesting and coupled with trainers success here with 2yr olds ticks a lot of boxes.

Win Advised

.

Toast Of London – Has pretty modest form over 1m – 2m in recent races. Goes up in trip here to 2m 102y and that could be more suitable as wasn’t beaten far in 5th place over 2m at Newcastle last time out. 10-1 is a nice price iv went win only on this but at that price wouldn’t put anyone off going Eachway.

Win Advised

.

Gurkha Friend – Has two wins and two places from last 5 runs. Both wins have came here over this trip, although that was back in May and June. Has been off since last race in June when 8th over 7f at York. If in same frame of mind as previous wins here will be tough to beat.

Win Advised

.Well there you have my thoughts on Monday’s races. Good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will hand you back over to Rich for his final word.

Rich’s Final Word

The hearing took place into the jockey’s alleged punch on the horse…. It resulted in a Caution for the Jockey, which in many peoples eye’s including US here at Aresonline is a poor show from the Irish authority, I think we can all say, it did racing no good, while the outcome is shall we say very soft. We all expected more than a slap on the fingers…..

Anyway enough of the bad, let’s get down to what else I found – Ripon’s Listed(4.30) 2 year old contest looks a corker but I cannot see past Lake Volta, with a C/D win in a class 3 to it’s name, is at the top of my list, while Perfect Sense(5.05) can get off the mark after being 3rd on debut & the winner has won again. Mount Logan can take the class 3 contest(4.20) for Roger Varian after his 2nd to Frankuus last time out. Roscommon has a flat card with a few maiden’s, the opener(4.25) looks a good chance for Himmah to get off the mark after 3 runner up spots from last 3 runs & at 6.30, Charlie Stout makes a flat debut, having won 3 of his last 6 hurdle starts from 2m to 2m 3f after finishing a 1/2 length 2nd on final hurde run & is a double figure price, which could be EW value.

All the best folks…

Sunday Session

Screenshot_2017-05-08-23-15-39_1

No Rich today or The People’s Nap as he had an early start at work so had no time to study cards. You will just have to put up with my ramblings for the time being. So without further adieu let’s get down to Saturday’s Results :

Gifted Master – Won as expected advised at 4-1

See The Master – Finished 5th and was a loss.

Beeno –  Won as expected advised at 7-2

. Two winners from the 3 I put up is not bad for a Saturday, would take that anytime on what’s normally the most difficult day to get profit from.

We now move on to Sunday’s races and my selections for that are listed below.

aviary-image-1503824428755

Jive Lady – Won at Hamilton 3 runs back but was poor at both York and Chelmsford latest. She has a good draw here and could easily bounce back to form Franny Norton on board and that’s a positive.

Win Advised

.

Eynhollow – Has 3 wins and two places from last 5 runs. Latest 2nd at Sandown in a class 4 handicap over 1m 1f . Has been raised a further 5lbs for that and may still have enough scope to be in the frame here.

Win Advised

.

Gold Spinner – Has won at Cork and Navan both over 1m. Has dissapointed since at the Curragh over 1m 2f and then at Galway over 1m. Sports first time blinkers today and if anywhere near the form of previous victories will be hard to stop.

Eachway Advised

.well that’s my thoughts on Sunday’s races, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket.

Super Saturday……

img_20160521_111244

I sit at my desk most evening’s thinking of an introduction for the blog & the last few times, well too many times has been how the PN got beat & yes it’s the same again today, but if you read my little segment at the bottom, you will know that the PN is just a small part of this blog that both Charlie & Myself spend so much time on. We both spend time looking at the cards & trawling through data to find the winners, in my case to find the best 3 that will win & then the rest are mentioned in Rich’s Final Word…. We are grafters & will continue to try & bring you what WE consider to be the picks of the day! Anyway(What is he going on about!) back to today’s choices –

People’s Nap Choices

Newmarket – Good

2.40 – Nursery – Class 3 – 2YO Only – 7f

AFFINA – Since a debut 4th, Affina is now 2 from 2, a head win at Thirsk in a class 4 fillies’ novice stakes win was quickly followed by another class 4 fillies’ stakes win at Ayr by 2 lengths, both wins have been over 7f – 2/1

.

York – Good

4.40 – Handicap – Class 2 – 1m 2f

UAE PRINCE – Won on season return before a 5th at Ascot in a class 1 listed race when stepping up an extra 2 furlongs in trip. Having finished 4th on last two runs, l length in a class 2 handicap over C/D before a last time out unlucky 2 & 1/4 length 4th to Dark Red at Goodwood, runs off the same mark – 10/3

.

Chester – Good

4.45 – Handicap – Class 4 – 3YO Only – 1m 5f 84y

Sheriff Garrett – Winner of 2 of the last 4 runs with two runner up spots, both wins have been on the AW track at Wolverhampton, while both runner up spots back on turf. Last turf run was a class 6 1 & 1/2 length 2nd at Thirsk. Won last time out at Wolves by 4 & 1/2 lengths & has been raised 9 for that 16 days ago. Drawn in stall 1 & looking to go ONE place better back on the turf – 10/3

.

PN Result(Friday) – Thomas Hobson, was with the leaders but dropped out of contention & was unplaced

Here is Charlie with his Thoughts & Results & I will see you for Final Word –

Cheers Rich, we will kick things off with Friday’s results :

Deadly Reel – was 3rd and was a loss.

Brimham Rocks – was 2nd and was another loss.

Sheikspear – was another 2nd and therefore another loss.

Nothing went my way on Friday with all 3 running well in defeat. Hopefully get a better run for my money from Saturday’s selections listed below.

aviary-image-1503735987531

Gifted Master -Has been competing in Class 1 & 2 company of late, although won a class 3 affair at Doncaster last time out. Has been drawn on the rail today and has the scope to get an early position and put this race to bed.

Win Advised

.

See The Master -Has two wins and a 2nd from last 3 runs setting the standard in this handicap. Looks like the step up in trip will suit and ground shouldn’t be a problem coupled with Adam Kirby today and should make all the running from bottom weight.

Win Advised

.

Beeno – Has won last two races relatively easy with a bit in hand each time. Seems to have found 2m 1f his ideal trip and is partnered with Robert Hogg who won on him two starts back. Trainer Kenneth Slack has a 33% success rate at Cartmel.

Win Advised

Well that’s my thoughts on Saturday’s races, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will hand you back over to Rich for his final word.

.

Rich’s Final Word

This little segment provided another winner yesterday & a 7/1 place…. so I know I can still find the winners as Thursday in here proved. While Saturday is notoriously a tough day, we always try to find the best that is on offer & with a touch of value, although it doesn’t seem like it sometimes, we do….

Anyway back to the racing, I really shouldn’t digress so much… Lightning Spear(3.20) looks to win the Celebration Mile, he won last season at Goodwood after a 1 length 3rd to Here Comes When last time out. Another back on the winners trail is Gifted Master(4.25 Newmarket), who won a class 3 last time by 3 & 1/2 lengths & returns to Listed racing, the seasoned Group winner has a tidy draw in stall 1 & Pat Smullen back on board.

While the racing continues in York, Sovereign Debt(1.55) looks to put a poor run last time to bed & return to the winners enclosure. Having had a nice 2 Year Old winner already at the course this week, Tim Easterby saddles Saxton in the Gimcrack(3.00) with 2 wins from 4 runs, Saxton looks a nice horse, now stepping up in class after a 3/4 length victory last time at Haydock & finished 2nd to Hey Jonesy, who ran a cracker earlier in the week & can hit the frame from double figure odds, As could Dubka(3.35) who drops from Group company to a class 2 handicap after finishing 2nd to Endless Time when trying this trip for the 1st time…

We hope our blog helps & maybe, just maybe we can all win together…. After all it’s no fun on your own!

Blimey it’s Funky Friday Already!

Screenshot_2017-05-08-23-15-39_1

Another day….. YET another PN place, this time it was Hey Jonesy, who raced alone & plugged on for 3rd, although he did have the lead until the last 100 metres…. Tough to take that but as we say, dust down & go again… After all it is Funky Friday & the start of the long bank holiday weekend! So let’s get on with it then Rich…..

Peoples Nap Choices

York – Good

2.25 – Lonsdale Cup – Group 2 Class 1 – 2m 56y

Thomas Hobson – Willie Mullins trained Grade 2 Hurdle winner, who had won a few races for John Gosden before moving to Mullins Yard a few years back, Won at Ascot under a master ride from Ryan Moore in a class 2 handicap by 6 lengths over 2m 3f before turning out at the course just 4 days later & finishing a cracking 2nd, again in a class handicap over 2m5f, only beaten 1 & 1/4 lengths, drops back in trip today & goes up in class – 7/2

.

Killarney – Yielding

6.10 – Fillies’ Maiden – 1m 3f

Alaykha – Debut 2nd, beaten by a short head over today’s distance, stepped up an extra 3f last time out & was beaten 4th by 4 lengths, but Dermot Weld’s yard are well over their early season problems & are starting to register some winners, drops back in trip now & has Pat Smullen in the saddle – 5/2

.

Goodwood – Good to Soft

7.15 – Fillies’ Handicap – Class 3 – 1m

Shaaqaaf – C/D winner 3 runs back in a 1m class 5 maiden by 2 & 3/4 lengths, has been runner up on last two outing’s, beaten 1/2 a length last time out at Chester over 7f 127y in a class 4 handicap, the front 2 were 7 lengths clear of 3rd – 9/4

.

PN Result (Thursday) – Hey Jonsey – 3rd – Brilliant run, all alone & will win again soon- Footnote – I bet with Skybet & this race was money back if your horse finished 2nd – 4th!

Here’s Charlie with his thought’s & I will see you for Final Word –

Cheers Rich, let’s get straight down to Thursday’s results :

Time For Wine – was an unlucky 2nd and is a loss.

False Id – was a poor 9th and was a loss.

Crocodile Dundee – was another unlucky 2nd, and was another loss.

.Not a great day by my standards with all 3 selections losing. Hopefully get back on track with Friday’s Selections listed below.

Charlie’s Selections

aviary-image-1503614713258

Deadly Reel – Has been raced 4 times but without any win, has had a 6 Week break and makes the step up in distance here to 1m, and that may be more suitable as previously has just been outside the places over 6f and 7f. I feel the extra distance will bring out the best of this horse in this race.

Win Advised

.

Brimham Rocks – Has won 3 times over middle distances this year, latest victory here over course and distance back in July. Was a poor 10th at Goodwood next time out but can be forgiven as was over a shorter distance on unfavourable ground.

Win Advised

.

Sheikspear – Won at Chepstow on the 14th July over 6f. Was 3rd next time out at Newbury over 7f. Was then sent to Kempton on the 17th August and won again over 7f. Is only 1lb higher than last win at Kempton and another bold performance can’t be ruled out here.

Win Advised

.Well that’s my thoughts on Friday’s races, Good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small. I will hand you back over to Rich for his final word.

Rich’s Final Word –

Cracking win again from Enable, as I mentioned, was a no bet for me But WOW! The other two I mentioned in the Final Word yesterday both won( Oxford Blu & Seafarer) & yes I was on, landing myself a tidy double! I also see Hugo Palmer had a nice Twitter rant yesterday & no doubt he will probably have a phone call from the BHA to explain his reason’s…. Anyway…

The Big race at York today – Nunthrope(3.35) see’s Lady Aurelia & Battaash go head to head, Lady A beat Profitable by 3 lengths last time at Ascot, while Battaash has  also beat Profitable, but by 2 & 1/4 lengths, is there 3/4’s of a length between them?? I think that these 3 will be fighting it out at the end, with Profitable back in 3rd……I do give you a Laugh a Minute(4.15 York) 2nd to Farhho Go last time, who won at York on Wednesday.

AND Finally Bella Estrella, a debut winner for the resurgent Dermot Weld just 8 day’s ago returns to the track at Killarney(5.40) looking to follow up the 3 & 1/4 length victory….. Thanks folks & Be Lucky….

Thumping Thursday….. Finger’s Crossed!

Screenshot_2017-05-08-23-15-39_1

With the PN finishing 2nd, I have lost count how many times this month it has either finished in the places…. Too many I know! We have a York Special today, so let’s crack on with it……

Peoples Nap – York – Good to Soft

1.55 – Yearling Stakes – Class 2 – 2YO Only – 6f

Hey Jonesy – 2nd on race course debut at Carlisle in a class 4 Novice Stakes contest by a nose over 6f. Finally struck here over C/D on only 2nd start winning by 2 & 3/4 lengths from Saxton, who has since won as has 3rd place The Throsttes – 9/2

.

2.25 – Lowther Stakes – Fillies’ Group 2 Class 1 – 2YO Only – 6f

Special Purpose – I flagged this Scat Daddy Filly up on debut at Lingfield, before it won by 1 & 1/2 lengths in a class 5 Novice contest, followed up winning at Ripon, in a 5f class 5 Fillies’ Novice race by 3 & 1/4 lengths from Gold Stone, who has since won. Up a furlong in trip & up in class – 13/2

.

4.15 – Sir Henry Cecil Stakes – Fillies’ Listed – Class 1 – 1m 4f

Mori – Drops back into listed company following a head defeat to Coronet in the Group 2 Ribblesdale Stakes having stepped up from 1m 2f after winning a Goodwood Fillies’ Listed race by 1 & 3/4 lengths – 5/6

.

PN Result (Wednesday) – Tarte Tropezienne – 2nd……

Over to Charlie to take you through his results & selections & I will see you for Final word –

Cheers Rich, let’s get down to Wednesday’s Results :

Edge – was edged into 2nd by 3/4 length and was a loss.

Inglorious – was anything but glorious finished a very poor 2nd last and was a loss.

Diable Dor – finished 6th and was yet another loss.

. Well Wednesday was a shocker from me after all the good work from yesterday. Ended the day with a blank hopefully it’s just a blip and I can get back on track with Thursday’s selections listed below.

Thursday’s Selections

aviary-image-1503527477034

Time For Wine -Was 2nd over 6f at Windsor on the 31st July, Was 2nd again on the 17th August at Sandown over 5f on heavy going. Conditions shouldn’t be an issue today and and with Silvestre De Sousa on board a bold run can’t be ruled out.

Win Advised

.

False Id – Well handicapped and is 6lb lower than last win mark. Hasn’t been with new trainer Mrs Marjorie Fife long and could gain first victory for new yard in this handicap over 1m 68y.

Win Advised

.

Crocodile Dundee – Was 2nd at Killarney over 2m 4 on the 20th of July. If repeating that here can gain first victory in a similar handicap chase.

Win Advised

.Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections. Good Luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small. I will hand you back over to Rich for his final word.

.

Rich’s Final Word

Disappointing day all round, while Hope is High won, the PN & Simply Me were a bit of a let down on a personal level, as I thought they all had the best chances of winning their races … Hey ho….. Enable SHOULD romp home, but no bet for me at those odds & I will just be watching, while at Chepstow Oxford Blu(4.40) was 2nd last time out & steps up in trip, only beaten 1/2 a length over 2m, now stepping to 2m 2f, the front pair were 9 lengths clear of 3rd….. & also at Chepstow, comeback queen Hayley Turner has a decent chance on Seafarer(5.15), another who was a beaten runner up last time out, only by 1/2 a length to the decent looking Nathan, who has since won again, also goes up another 2f from 1m 2f to 1m 4f!

Fingers crossed we get the day our hard work deserves. The NEW edition of 3 Furlongs Out will hit the net on September 1st & has lot’s of the usual interviews, reviews, previews!

Will it be Winnersday??? It was Full House Tuesday!

The PN faltered again….. But WOW…… Charlie stepped up with a decent day….. A FULL HOUSE 3/3….. Absolutely top draw stuff….

Peoples Nap Choices

Bath – Good to Soft

4.00 – Fillies’ Handicap – Class 4 – 1m 3f 137y

Tarte Tropezienne – Only had 3 runs so far & improved for each run, 5th & 3rd before winning a Ripon class 5 maiden over 1m 4f by 1 & 1/4 lengths, 2nd & 5th have both since won – 13/8

.

5.10 – Handicap – Class 6 – 1m 5f 11y

Hope is High – 2 wins from last 5 runs with 3 places in between, a ready 7 length winner last time out over 1m 3f at this course 5 days ago. Up in trip, runs under a penalty & is due to go up another 7 after this run – 2/1

.

Kempton(AW) – Standard to Slow

7.15 – Fillies’ Handicap – Class 4 – 7f

Simply Me – Has been beaten by a neck on both visit’s to this track, so hoping for 3rd time lucky! A winner in this class of a very small field at Wolverhampton by a short head last time out, raised 1 for that but Patrick Pilley takes off 5 – 7/1

.

PN Result(Tuesday) – Multicultral – 3rd but unplaced due to 7 runners……

Over to Charlie now to fill you in on his selections & results of his FULL HOUSE! See you for Final Word –

Cheers Rich, let’s get down to Tuesday’s results :

W G Grace – won by a neck after being pressed all the way by Laura Knight with Adam Kirby on board but Franny Norton found a bit extra juice to win on the line. Advised at 5-2

Ocean Temptress – led from start to finish looked very easy in the end winning by 3 and 3/4 length. Advised at 4-1

Mont Choisy –tracked leaders until making progress 3 out, led approaching last and ran on winning by 6 length. Advised at 100-30

.A fantastic day from me with all 3 selections winning. Was overdue if I’m honest, as my form has been hit and miss past couple of weeks, but hopefully the corner has turned now and I can build on it. So on that note please find my selections for Wednesday listed below with write ups:

aviary-image-1503441469241

Edge – Was 3rd last time out at Salisbury over 1m off this mark, although hasn’t won over this distance before jock takes a handy 5lb off horse’s back and a bold show can’t be ruled out.

Win Advised

.

Inglorious – Won at Ayr two starts back, although was a poor 5th at Thirsk on Monday handles soft conditions and stays this far. Making today’s race very winnable.

Win Advised

.

Diable Dor – Has been running well without winning over 7f. Goes up in distance to 1mand jock claims 3lb and that may be enough to swing race in horse’s favor.

Win Advised

.

Well that’s my thoughts on Wednesday’s races, Good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small. I will hand you back over to Rich for his Final Word.

Rich’s Final Word

So a lunchtime conversation on Twitter about Asda spelling Isle of Wight( they had put WHITE on 10,000 bags) wrong for their new £40,000,000 store went viral, I have had so many notifications & even made Twitter’s Haha Moments section…. Thus all the excitement I forgot to put on Charlie’s selections – Cue the massive Homer moment when they all come in! DOH

Anyway enough about my new found celebrity twitter status(NOT!) There was a couple I left out of the peoples nap choices – Barney Roy, who runs in the Juddmonte at York(3.35) as I knew this would be the most popular choice & I thought until I had 2 or 3 from York, I would let this run. I also left out I’m Dapper Too at Carlisle(4.25) a 4 time course winner, who is 3 out of 3 over C/D & is on a superb  run, although this is a big field, being 3/3 over C/D was enough to swing it for me!

Tricky Tuesday ……

Another day, another PN finishing in the places….. This time 2nd, while the other two choices won….. Oh what I would give to have them all win …. I feel I have found another 3 with real live chances, so let’s crack on –

Peoples Nap Choices

Kempton(AW) – Standard to Slow

4.15 – Handicap – Class 3 – 7f

Finelcity – Makes season return after last being seen in October, winning here over C/D in a class 4 handicap by 3/4’s of a length. Has a cracking C/D record of 2 wins & 1 place from 3 runs & has won 3 out of 4 at this course, all 3 wins came at the tail end of last term, steps up in class – 8/1

.

4.45 – Handicap – Class 4 – 6f

Hackney Road – Beaten over C/D in July by re opposing Maakaasib, after winning a class 5 Apprentice C/D handicap at the start of July. Has 2 wins & 1 place from 3 C/D runs – 7/4

.

Yarmouth – Good to Firm

7.10 – Handicap – Class 4 – 7f 3y

Multicultral – After finishing in the places on 1st two runs of the season, finally broke maiden tag with a 2 length victory over C/D 5 days from Call Me Grumpy, carries a penalty – 11/8

.

PN Result(Monday)  UAE Queen – Drifted like a barge & was undone by a fantastic ride from James Doyle – 2nd!

Over to Charlie now for his thoughts & results, catch ya for Final Word –

Cheers Rich, let’s get straight down to Monday’s Results :

African Friend – Ran well but could only manage 3rd and was a loss.

Onlyfoolsownhorses – Ran well but was beaten into 2nd by Final Fling and was another loss.

Miss Conway – Won as expected Advised at 3-1 returned at 11-4

Just the one winner from my 3 selections, with the other two running well in defeat. Hopefully build on that with Tuesday’s selections listed below.

aviary-image-1503357303223

W G Grace -Has raced 3 times over 5f and should be capable of better, extra furlong may be more suitable here in a low grade handicap and a chance is taken on the win.

Win Advised

.

Ocean Temptress – was an unlucky 2nd in a 7 f seller handicap at Yarmouth wearing first time blinkers on the 10th August. Blinkers replaced by visor and if in same mood as last race could be hard to catch in this slightly easier race.

Win Advised

.

Mont Choisy – Was 3rd over 2m 7f at Uttoxeter on the 19th July, then went to Cartmel and raced over 3m 1f and again finished 3rd. Jock James Bowen takes 10lb off horses back  and that should swing this race in horse’s favor.

Win Advised

.

Well that’s my thoughts on Tuesday’s races good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small. I will hand you back over to Rich for his final word.

Rich’s Final Word

Harba was beaten at short odds yesterday & I wonder if fellow Frankel Filly Ambrosia will go one better at Kempton(3.15) having been beaten a shorthead on season return! While at Yarmouth(4.40), Charlie Appleby tries to continue his fine form, with Wild Illusion – Dubawi filly, who is half sister to Really Special & makes her race course debut for a trainer, who has a 33% SR with 2 year olds this year & has a 28% SR over the last 14 days…….

We would also like to pass on our condolences to Harry Fry & connections after the sad loss of Neon Wolf, a very talented NH horse, who were sure would have gone far. Also to Jane Chapple-Hyam, who lost Bullington Bandit yesterday….. Racing is the poorer for these losses & we send our thoughts to all involved…..
