.Won at Newcastle ina Class 5 over 1m 4f in January this year, was then gelded and sent to Haydock to race in a Class 4 handicap over 1m 6f in July and finished 2nd. Has cheekpieces fitted today and if repeating the run shown at Haydock that should be enough to take Winds of Fire back into the winners enclosure.

.Was 3rd over 1m at Yarmouth in a Class 6 seller handicap back in July, Wa then sent to Lingfield to race in a Class 6 handicap over 1m on the 11th August and won beating Popsicle by 1 length. Has an extra 6lbs to carry here but is partnered by Silvestre De Souza today and that’s a positive, if repeating the form shown in last 2 races that could be enough to land the spoils here in a trappy race.

.is a non runner unfortunately with no replacement.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you back over to Rich for The Final Word.

Rich’s Final Word –Ā

I only really took a great deal of notice of Salisbury, so that is where the 3 will come from today….

4.10 Sovereign Stakes Group 3 1m….. Mark Johnston’s Elarqam, who was 4th in the 2,000 Guineas and then ran no kind of race in the Irish 2,000 Guineas. A nice 3rd last time out to Thundering Blue by 1/2 a length in the 1m 2fĀ  Group 2 York Stakes, now drops back to 1m and has the weight for age allowance and may never have a better chance for his Frankel Colt to land a group race and get up and running for the season!

4.40 Fillies’ Handicap Class 2 1m 4f ā€¦ā€¦ Crystal Moonlight improved from a debut 5th to win on seasonal return at Doncaster in a Fillies’ 1m 2f C5 novice stakes by 1 & 3/4 lengths in June. Second of 3 over 1m 4f in a C4 fillies’ novice stakes and Sir Michael Stoute will be expecting big things from his New Approach filly.

5.10 Handicap Class 4 3YO Only 1m 6f …. Winds of Fire won on the All Weather back in January at Newcastle over 1m 4f . Had a break and returned to the track on July 20th to finish a 1 & 1/2 length runner up in a Haydock 1m 6f C4 handicap. 3rd and 4th have both since won and has the added aid of first time cheek pieces for Charlie Appleby’s Kitten’s Joy gelding….

That is everything for you today folks….

All the Best – Charlie & Rich
