COLTS
NAME – Waterville
MONTH BORN – May
PEDIGREE – Camelot x Holy Moon
LIKELY 2YO TARGETS – Beresford Stakes/Vertem Futurity Trophy
LIKELY 3YO TARGETS – Epsom Derby
VERDICT – Camelot has made a fine start to his stud career already siring 7 Group 1 winners in the form of Athena, Even So, Latrobe, Russian Camelot, Sir Dragonet, Sunny Queen, & Wonderment. This colts Dam Holy Moon was a listed winning daughter of Henando & was a multiple race winner in Italy.
This is Holy Moon’s twelfth foal siblings include multiple Group 1 winner SEA OF CLASS winner of the Irish Oaks & Yorkshire Oaks in 2018 she finished an unlucky runner up in the Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe.
She was running down the winner Enable but just ran out of time Sadly, Sea Of Class has since passed away may she rest in peace.
Other siblings of note include Group 1 winner Charity Line, who only tasted
defeat once in her career.
Her biggest win came in the Premio Lydia Tesio Longines Group 1 in Italy 2013. Another half sister is Group 1 winner Final Score who won the Premio Longines Lydia Tesio Group 1 in Italy in 2014. Her half sister Cherry Collect is also a Group 2 winner & half Brother Back On Board was Group 2 placed this really is an exceptional broodmare.
Parents Camelot & Holy Moon are both proven and have both produced several Group 1 winners and this is a fascinating partnership. This 2 year old has every chance of becoming a serious horse and could be a big player in the 2022 Epsom Derby.

NAME – Denver
MONTH BORN – January
PEDIGREE – Galileo x Halfway To Heaven
LIKELY 2YO TARGETS – National Stakes/Dewhurst Stakes
LIKELY 3YO TARGETS – Prix Du Jockey Club/Epsom Derby
VERDICT – By 12 time Champion Sire Galileo out of Pivotal mare Halfway To Heaven who won 3 Group 1 races in 2008 including the Irish 1,000 Guineas, Nassau Stakes, & Sun Chariot Stakes.
This is her seventh foal and full siblings include 7 time Group 1 winner MAGICAL victories including the British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes (2018) Tattersalls Gold Cup (2019, 2020) Irish Champion Stakes (2019, 2020) Champion Stakes (2019) & Pretty Polly Stakes (2020).
3 time Group 1 winner RHODODENDRON her victories include the Fillies’ Mile in 2016 Prix de l’OpĂ©ra in 2017 & the Lockinge Stakes in 2018.
Group 3 winner Flying The Flag. Race winners Just Gorgeous Hanover Street & Ballydoyle 3 year old Heaven of Heavens who remains a maiden after 2 starts but showed some promise on her last start in 2020.
This is a proven partnership and this 2 year old is highly likely to be another Group 1 horse.
Difficult to evaluate targets as his siblings are more or less 10 furlong types every chance this horse could be a Guineas type but more likely to be an Epsom type or could head for France in a bid to bag a classic as 10 furlongs would be his optimum trip. Certainly one for the classics shortlist.
NAME – China Seas
MONTH BORN – April
PEDIGREE – Galileo x Beauty Is Truth
LIKELY 2YO TARGETS – National Stakes/Dewhurst Stakes
LIKELY 3YO TARGETS – 2000 Guineas/Epsom Derby
VERDICT – By 12 time Champion Sire Galileo out of Group 2 winning Pivotal mare Beauty Is Truth this is her tenth foal full siblings include dual classic winner Hermosa who won the English & Irish 1000 Guineas in 2019.
2 time Group 1 winner Hydrangea winner of the Matron Stakes & British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes both in 2017. Group 1 winner The United States who won the Ranvet Stakes at Rosehill Australia in 2016. Race winners Salsa & Buonarroti.
This 2 year old is also the half Brother to Group 3 winner Fire Lily. As you can see this really is a proven partnership. This horse could really be anything tough to get a handle on targets as siblings have won Group 1 races at 8, 10 & 12 furlongs at 3 years of age, hence I have covered all bases with potential 3 year old targets. This fella certainly is one to look forward to.

NAME – HOWTH
MONTH BORN – February
PEDIGREE – Churchill x Muwakaba
LIKELY 2YO TARGETS – Beresford Stakes/Vertem Futurity Trophy
LIKELY 3YO TARGETS – Epsom Derby
VERDICT – This Colt is from the first crop of European Champion 2 Year old of 2016 Churchill, who was also the highest rated Juvenile in the same year and went on to win 4 Group 1 races in his career including 2 Classics.
His wins at the highest level include the National Stakes & Dewhurst Stakes in 2016
and as a 3 Year old in 2017 he added the English & Irish 2000 Guineas. Big things are expected of the son of Galileo at Stud.
The dam Muwakaba is a race winning daughter of Elusive Quality and was trained by Sir Michael Stoute in 2009 & 10. This is her 6th foal.
The Siblings of this 2 Year Old include Multiple Group race winner
Cayenne Pepper (Australia) who is also multiple Gr1 placed & classic placed when chasing home Even So in the Irish Oaks last season. Other siblings include race winners Seyaady (Exceed And Excel) & Just Because (Mawatheeq).
Muwakaba since went back to Australia and has Given birth to a full brother to
Cayenne Pepper born in April 2020. This Colt could be one of the best progeny from the sires first crop and I expect to see him out from June on and could well be contesting Group 1 races by the end of the season over a mile.

NAME – New York City
MONTH BORN – February
PEDIGREE – Invincible Spirit x Rajeem
LIKELY 2YO TARGETS – Middle Park Stakes
LIKELY 3YO TARGETS – Commonwealth Cup
VERDICT – New York City’s Sire Invincible Spirit has already produced several top class horses including Lawman, Fleeting Spirit, Moonlight Cloud, KINGMAN, Shalaa, Vale Of York, & MAGNA GRECIA to mention but a few. He tends to produce poaceous Sprinter/Milers.
His Dam Rajeem, a Group 1 winning daughter of Diktat ran out the winner of the 2006 Falmouth Stakes for Clive Brittain and won 3 of her 10 career starts amassing over ÂŁ130,000 in career earnings.
Siblings Include Full Brother Invincible Army winner of the Duke Of York stakes in 2019 who is now standing at at Yeomanstown Stud in Ireland. Invincible Army won 5 of his 19 career starts and was placed 6 times. He amassed over ÂŁ300,000 in earnings. Other Siblings include 5 time race winner Master Rajeem (Street Cry).
New York City was purchased by M.V.Magnier at Tattersalls October Yearling sale book 1 for 600,000 Guineas in 2020. After having to make a couple of changes this week due to movements I wanted to make sure this replacement was at Ballydoyle. New York City has alot going for him he has the pedigree the name & the looks. I’m hopeful he will turn out to be a star sprint and we could see him at Royal Ascot both as a Juvenile this year but also as a 3 year old in the Commonwealth Cup.

FILLIES –
NAME – Twinkle
MONTH BORN – January
PEDIGREE – Galileo x Believe’n’succeed
LIKELY 2YO TARGETS – Fillies Mile
LIKELY 3YO TARGETS – 1000 Guineas/Epsom Oaks
VERDICT – By 12 time Champion Sire, Galileo out of Believe’n’succeed, who is a Group 3 winning daughter of Exceed And Excel. This is her fifth foal siblings include Epsom Derby winner Anthony Van Dyck (RIP), Australian Group 1 winning mare Bounding & Race winner Streets Better. The dam has
already produced 2 Group 1 winners in her first four foals & that’s an incredible strike rate.
Only one of her raced foals is by Galileo and that partnership threw up a classic winner at the first attempt. As we know AVD was a very active juvenile, so expect his full sister to have a busy campaign in 2021. After the tragic loss of AVD in the Melbourne Cup its great that we have his full sister to look forward to and I’m hopeful she will be Group 1 material.
NAME – Only
MONTH BORN – January
PEDIGREE – Deep Impact x Winter
LIKELY 2YO TARGETS – Moyglare Stud Stakes/Fillies Mile
LIKELY 3YO TARGETS – 1000 Guineas
VERDICT – By Japanese wonder sire Deep Impact, who won 12 of his 14 career starts and was Japanese Horse of the Year in 2005 & 2006 and went on to be a multiple champion sire in Japan.
Out of superstar Galileo mare Winter, who won 4 Group 1 races in 2017 including the 1000 Guineas, Irish 1,000 Guineas, Coronation Stakes & Nassau Stakes. This is her first foal and the Deep Impact/Galileo cross has already produced classic winner Saxon Warrior, Group 2 winners Cantabile & Vanquish Run.
Black Type winner Pavlenko. Ballydoyle 3 year old Snowfall, who is already a race winner. This is a fascinating partnership. The cross has already produced a classic winner and has been successful considering the low numbers.
Saxon Warrior is out of 1 time Group 1 winner Maybe and there is no
doubt that Winter is a superior mare in terms of on track achievements.
This filly is one to really look forward to and should be a big player in the 2022 Guineas.

NAME – Skylark
MONTH BORN – January
PEDIGREE – Galileo x Shastye
LIKELY 2YO TARGETS – Fillies Mile
LIKELY 3YO TARGETS – Epsom Oaks
VERDICT – By 12 time Champion Sire, Galileo & out of Shastye. The black type winning daughter of Danehill.
This is her eleventh foal siblings include Multiple Group 1 winner, Mogul, winner of the Grand Prix De Paris & Hong Kong Vase.
Multiple Group 1 winner, Japan, winner of the Grand Prix De Paris & Juddmonte International.

2013 Epsom Oaks.
Group 3 winner Sir Isaac Newton, who also finished 4th in the 2016 Juddmonte International & Listed winner, Maurus.
Race winner Secret Sense & race placed Secret Soul.
Shastye is a top class broodmare and has produced many proven horses.
This filly was Purchased by M.V.Magnier as a yearling for 3,400,000 GNS at Tattersalls last October and hopes will be high that Shastye has produced a 3rd Group 1 winning foal in a row.
We might have to wait until the second half of 2021 to see her make her debut but without doubt she will be worth waiting for.

NAME – Toy
MONTH BORN – April
PEDIGREE – Galileo x You’resothrilling
LIKELY 2YO TARGETS – Moyglare Stud Stakes
LIKELY 3YO TARGETS – 1000 Guineas
VERDICT – By 12 time Champion Sire Galileo & out of Group 2 winning, Storm Cat mare You’resothrilling, who is one of the most exceptional broodmares in the history of racing, having already produced 3 Group 1 winners and 2 classic winners.
This is her eighth foal & siblings include 2000 Guineas winner, Gleneagles, who won 4 Group 1 races in his career.
Multiple Group 1 winner Happily, winner of the Moyglare Stud Stakes & Prix Jean-Luc Lagardère both in 2017 she also finished that year being awarded
Cartier Champion Two-year-old Filly.
Irish 1000 Guineas winner Marvellous & multiple Group 2 winner Taj Mahal. Group 3 winner Coolmore & Group 1 placed Vatican City, who was runner up to Siskin in the 2020 Irish 2000 Guineas.
And race placed Ballydoyle 3 year old Joan Of Arc, who finished 2nd on debut at Dundalk at the end of last season and she is also one to look forward to in 2021.
Odds are stacked heavily that at the minimum this will be a Group class filly and it will be no surprise to me if she ends 2021 as a Group 1 winning juvenile.

NAME – Contarelli Chapel
MONTH BORN – January
PEDIGREE – Caravaggio x Chenchikova
LIKELY 2YO TARGETS – Cheveley Park Stakes/Moyglare Stud Stakes
LIKELY 3YO TARGETS – 1000 Guineas
VERDICT – By Coolmore’s first season sire Caravaggio, who was a Group 1 winner at 2 & 3. She is out of race winning Sadler’s Wells mare Chenchikova. This is her ninth foal siblings include Multiple Group 1 winner Fancy Blue, winner of the Prix de Diane & Nassau Stakes in 2020.
Listed winners Casterton & Smuggler’s Cove.
Black type winner Fastnet Cyclone, race winners Unex Michelangelo &
Instruction & race placed Miss Chess.
This 2 year old filly could end up with Donnacha he did a great job with the half sister but being by Coolmore’s first season sire Caravaggio, she could well be homed at Ballydoyle. Hopes are really high for Caravaggio.
No Nay Never another son of Scat Daddy made an excellent start to his career at stud but Caravaggio was the far superior racehorse. I remember when
Scat Daddy passed away, John Magnier said about Cara that the cavalry has come just at the right time.
To me Caravaggio got the superior mares to fellow Coolmore first season sire Churchill. There is every chance Cara could potentially be a champion first season sire and this daughter could bring him first crop Group 1
glory.
Once the horses have been named, they will be added….
