Hello and welcome to Simple Sunday from arseonlinetips. A 100% independent racing blog brought to you by 2 racing enthusiasts from either end of the British Isles. Charlie hails from Glasgow, while Rich is from the Isle of Wight. Miles apart but united by the sport of Kings….
What a fantastic days racing from Newmarket, it’s a shame ITV decided to put it on ITV4 instead of swapping it with the X Factor, repeated from last weekend. It was a perfect chance for the free to air channel today to promote racing…. and ITV failed!
Three places from 3(bookies paying 4 places!) yesterday from Charlie, while Final Word managed an 11/2 winner & mentioning the first two home in the Middle Park Stakes(Put them in your trackers).
Standard blog again….. Charlie’s Selections while Rich as the Final Word….
Charlie –
Lang Toun Lady -Was 3rd at Ripon two starts back over 6f in a Class 6 sellers race wearing 1st time blinkers. Was then sent here in September dropping down in trip to 5f and winning with blinkers on again beating Primeiro Boy by 2 and 1/4 lengths. Although is now 7lb heavier the blinkers are retained again and still looked as though there was something left in the tank last time out, if in same mindset today should be in the mix at the business end of race.

Amanaat -Is an ex John Gosden horse who is now with Denis Hogan, has placed 2nd at the Curragh and Navan in last two starts in 5f handicaps. Latest of those 2nd places looks decent as was only 1 length behind Spoofing at Navan. Wears 1st time blinkers today and that may help with the slow break that it’s shown on last two runs. Also runs off the same mark as that run at Navan and has a 3lb swing with jock K J Leonard’s claim and a bold display can’t be ruled out.

Swanton Blue -Was 2nd at Chepstow over 6f in a Class 6 Apprentice seller on the 27th August beaten a nose by Assassinate. Was then sent to Goodwood on the 26th September to race in a Class 4 handicap over 6f finishing 4th behind Lady Dancealot, Iconic Knight and Handytalk with the first 4 home being separated by 2 heads and a neck, races off 1lb higher than last win mark when winning at Chepstow in June. Is partnered with jock Seamus Cronin who takes 7lb off and if repeating form shown in last two races should gain compensation here.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you back over to Rich for The Final Word.
