Banditry – Last ran in a Class 3 hurdle at Aintree when finishing 3rd over 2m, this was the 2nd of 2 hurdle runs after winning on AW debut at Chelmsford in a class 2 handicap by 1 & 1/4 lengths, back in trip – 10/3

4.00 – Handicap – Class 5 – 1m 5f

Bamako Du Chatelet – Won at Wolves over 1m 4f by a head before finishing 4th in an Amateur handicap. Last time out was a 2 length 2nd over 1m 7f at this course, 5 lengths clear of 3rd – 5/2

Catterick – Soft

3.20 – Handicap Chase – Class 4 – 2m 3f 51y

Fields of Glory – Carries a penalty for win last time out by 7 lengths over this distance & in this class, having followed up a previous win by 1/2 a length. Conditional Jockey Alan Johns takes off 3 – 2/1

Both of these are at  Leicester – Soft, good to soft in places

2.40 – Novice Chase – C3 – 2m 6f 151y

Belami – 4th run in this class, having won 2 since returning from a break, win LTO was over 3m at Warwick on heavy going, drops back in trip to when winning at Newbury but is now rated 148, when winning that day was 132

4.10 – Handicap Chase – Class 5 – 2m 4f 45y

Miss Oscarose – Won when 1Lb out of handicap , followed up at Plumpton when up in class to finish 3rd by 1 & 1/2 lengths, drops back in class & up a furlong

3.20 Fields Of Glory 2-1 Win

.Has been consistent since pulling up at Huntingdon in October, placing 3rd at Musselburgh over 2m 3f. Then placed 2nd at Lingfield over 2m before winning at Musselburgh in January over 2m 3f won again at Market Rasen 9 days ago over 2m 3f by 7 length has a penalty for that win and jock claims 3lbs and that should help it’s chance of going in again here.

Billy Billy – Chase maiden but a heavy ground winning hurdler, 3rd last time out to Two Smoking Barrels – 4/1

Rich Again – Been in fine form, winning last 2 runs at Newcastle, is a C/D winner here too, up in class, but with a strong pace certain, will be played about the furlong pole to strike – 5/1

.Won over course and distance last month on heavy ground has been raised 11lbs for that win but can’t ignore form on this ground and gets a tentative pick here.

.Was 2nd at Wincanton over 2m 5f on good to soft ground in December and placed 3rd at Warwick over 2m 3f on soft ground 2 weeks later, was 6th at Towcester latest but scoped dirty after race so can put a line through that run and going on previous runs looks primed to win and a chance is taken that day is Monday.

Naas –

3.50 – Nov Hurdle – Grade 2 Class 1 – Any Second Now – Won a G2 C1 LTO beating Crack Mome, making it 2 out of 2 over hurdles

4.50 – H’cap Chase – Class 1 – 3m – Thelobstercatcher – Below last winning mark now, travelled well for a long way LTO, has same jockey as last win  & same going….. Also opened at 22/1 was 14/1 when writing this..

Chester Street – 7th of 8 last time out after bursting through the gates, so we can draw a line through that straight away…. Before that race though had won a Class 2 at Chelmsford by a nose from Quaffaal , only rated 3 higher – 4/1

Mountainous – The Welsh Grand National winner of last year bounced back to form with a cracking 2nd on heavy going last time out & runs of a mark of just 1 higher than winning WGN & has a 7Lb claimer on board, with 5 wins in these conditions & a good run last time, Mountainous can run into a place, so i’m going Each way – 12/1

Coastal Tiep – back down in class now after off showing in C2 LTO, winner of 2 hurdle races including over C/D

Coo Star Sivola – Beaten a long way by Wholesome last time out, but is a Class 1 Listed Hurdle winner & was 2nd in a Grade 2 Class 1 at Chepstow earlier in the season, runs off top weight – 2/1

Wild West Wind – 2 out of 2 since going over bigger fences, beat The Bay Oak last time out on heavy going over today’s distance at Hereford by 3/4s of a length, was value for win & probably had a bit in hand too – 1/1

Exeter – 2.45 – 2m 2f- Sainte Ladyline – Back over hurdles after running over fences since November return, 3 wins & a Class 1  Listed 3rd place from 4 hurdle runs, ranging from 1m 7f to 2m 6f – Big Chance.

Lingfield – 5.05- 5f 6y – Street Jazz has been doing well in small fields, 1 win & not being beaten far in other 2 races, faces an out of handicap winner Popsilca, who was a 33/1 winner & then 2nd LTO when upped to 6f, back to 5f. Looks between these 2….

Wolverhampton – 6.45 – 5f 20y – Give Us A Bell – Won this last year with OR 57, now down to 46, returned to form with a 3/4s of a length 2nd LTO & winner has since won again.

On The Road – Has been in fantastic form, winning 4 & two 2nd place finishes from last 6 runs, including last time out, in 1st time cheek pieces at Lingfield on heavy ground, in this class by 3/4s of a length, race had 2 next time out winners – 7/4

Chelmsford – AW -Standard

2.55 – Handicap – Class 4 – 1m

Loyalty – Last won off a mark of 82, which is the mark racing from again tomorrow, is due to go up 4 after this race, would of won last time out off this mark when denied space & was slightly hampered by the winner, only going down by 1/2 a length in 2nd place, clear run & probably would have won, the front 2 were 3 & 1/2 lengths clear of 3rd – 2/1

Huntington – Good to soft

3.10 – Mares’ Chase – Class 1(Listed) – 2m 3f 189y

Desert Queen – Stunning front running performance last time out in a Class 1 Listed race(her 2nd Listed victory) when giving the field 10Lb(same today) to win by 10 lengths over 2m 6f, although a slight tendency to jump left. This contest is 3f less & can front run them into the ground – 7/4

Custard The Dragon – Has gone form strength to strength since his head 2nd at Wolverhampton, with 3 wins from last 4 runs including here over C/D in a Class 5 by 1 & 1/4 lengths from Unnoticed .All Wins here over C/D 3 out of 3 in Class 4, 5 & 6 – 3/1

Verdana Blue – Unseated on UK debut for Nicky Henderson, but quickly off the mark last time out under this rider(J.McGrath) at Haydock by 3 lengths from Ruby Yeats over 2m, up in trip – 11/8

Unzing – 3rd by 15 lengths over 2m 5f, which was possibly a touch to far than ideal, but now returned to a more suitable trip. Won over 2m 1f at Wetherby on Boxing day in this class by 2 & 1/2 lengths form No Ceiling – 7/2

.normally runs over fences but makes switch to hurdles over an ideal distance here and is rated 17lbs below chase rating also wears first time tongue tie and can easily outrun that price if in the mood.

.Boom The Groom -chased leaders until badly hampered 3f out lost ground as a result finished 6th and is a loss.

.Amberjam -didn’t run well and was pulled up and was another loss.

.Fleminskill -tracked leaders until 2f when in with a chance but ran on one paced inside final furlong finishing 3rd and was another loss.

.Not a day to remember from a gambling point of view,but one positive was Fleminskill I suggest you stick Fleminskill in the tracker as it will have learned from this first run and looked like one for the future.

Carlisle – 3.35 – 2m 3f – Little Bruce – Has won last 2 over since stepping up in trip, LTO under a penalty by 6 lengths

 

Sunday Service Results

.Ball Darc – chased leader all the way until being left clear 3 out after leader fell ran on well winning by 19 length advised at 11-4

.Pearl Swan – always prominent until taking lead after the 13th well on top after the last winning by 3 and 1/4 length even tho it was declared lame immediately after race.Advised at 5-2

.Holeinthewall bar – raced behind leaders but made no impact and weakened 3 out finished 9th and was a loss.

.Ochos Rios – always prominent and had every chance approaching the last but weakened on run in finishing 3rd and was  another loss.

.Two wins from 4 on a tricky days racing will have to do hopefully some of you got on as we strive to build the pot for Cheltenham.
