Hello and welcome to arseonlinetips. A 100% Free & Independent racing website with NO affiliate links. This site is curated by 2 racing enthusiasts from either end of the British Isles, Charlie hails from Glasgow while Rich is from the Isle of Wight… Miles apart but united by the sport of kings…

It’s a special day for us here at HQ, with Charlie celebrating his birthday, so he has free reign today to bish, bosh & bash the bookies as he pleases. It is also 2 years since the great Many Clouds passed away, we love this horse at HQ and have many fond memories of him and today should be a celebration of his life rather than a sad day….

Right then folks, lets get this Birthday edition underway… Charlie will have his birthday Selections while Rich will have the Final Word….

Charlie – Cheers Rich although this week has been testing in many ways with the weather playing havoc with the racing, we come into another weekend as we try and make it 3 winning Saturday’s on the spin so without further adieu let’s get my Birthday Selections underway and they come from Cheltenham today and can be found below.

2019-01-26-11-16-42

Cheltenham Selections

12.40 Adjali 🌟🌟-Hasn’t been out of the first 3 places in five starts including 3 races in France and two in the UK, the two races in the uk include a Class 4 hurdle win at Market Rasen and a Class 1 Group 1 2nd at Chepstow last time out. Nicky Henderson has won this race 4 times from last 6 renewals and looks to have another class animal in Adjali and at 11-8 is today’s Nap Selection.
Win Advised
.
1.50 Janika 🌟🌟- is another who hasn’t been out of the first 2 places in 5 starts although 4 of them were over in France. Sole UK race saw Janika finish 2nd at Ascot in a Class 2 Chase on soft ground over 2m 3f beaten 2 and 1/4 lengths by Hell’s kitchen. Goes up in trip today to 2m 4f and 127y. If handling the good to soft ground and the step up in trip could go one better today for Nicky Henderson and was 11/4 when selecting my Nb today.
Win Advised
.
3.35  Aux Ptit Soins 🌟🌟- won here last time out over 3m and was only his 2nd start after a lengthy absence and a switch in stables, is lightly raced for his age and could still have more to come at this level was 9-2 when selected but is as short as 4-1 in places for today’s 3b.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you back over to Rich for The Final Word.

.

Final Word with Rich –

Firstly I would like to wish Charlie a very happy birthday, thanks for having me and you are a fantastic chap, who we have shared a great couple of years on this site and long may it continue…..

I have 2 from Cheltenham, so I will crack on….

Cheltenham… Good to Soft…

1.50 Handicap Chase… Grade 3… 2m 4f 127yds…

The Kings Writ…. Fell when in contention on  seasonal return back in November at Chepstow before winning in a 2m 3fC3 handicap chase at Exeter by 5 lengths and today takes a step up in class. That said KIngs receives plenty of weight from the toip two rated in the market, with Actival(11s 12Lb) 151 & Janika(11s 11Lb) 150. Kings carries just 10s 6Lb and could be well in today….

3.00 Novice Hurdle… Grade 3… 2m 4f 56yds…

Jarveys Plate… 3rd on hurdles debut in a 2m novice hurdle by 2 lengths back in November at Hereford, that was quickly followed by finishing runner up to the exciting Elixir De Nutz at this course in a C3 2m novice hurdle, Elixir has since gone on to win a Grade 1 Tolworth at Sandown. Jarveys was also a last time out winner, when landing a C1 Listed novice hurdle over 2m 4f over course & distance on Ney Years Day. Carries a penalty today…

Doncaster… Good…

2.40 Mares’ Hurdle… Grade 2… 2m 128yds…

Lady Buttons… Has to give 4Lb to the field today having won a Listed chase last time out, to take it to 3 wins from her last 3 starts. Last seen on December 29th at this course when landing the 2m 4f Listed chase by 3 & 3/4 lengths. A winner over hurdles on seasonal return in a C1 Listed contest over 2m at Wetherby back in November…. Top Rated…

Uttoxeter… Good…

2.50 Handicap Hurdle… Class 2… 2m 4f..

Aspen Colorado…. Owner JP McManus moved the horse from Ireland to Jonjo O’Neill in England and the horse was dropped back to 2m 4f. Won both starts for his new yard over this distance before not staying 3m 1f when stepped up in trip last time out finishing 5th. Back down in trip today and receives plenty of weight from Ballyandy, who runs from 11s 12Lb and is top rated, while Colorado has 7Lb in hand at 11s 5Lb….

Thanks for popping by today folks…. Hope we can get Charlie a birthday winner or 3…

Many Clouds by Fran Altoft….

Hello and welcome to arseonlinetips. A 100% Free & Independent racing website with NO affiliate links, curated by 2 racing enthusiasts from either end of the British Isles. Charlie hails from Glasgow while Rich is from the Isle of Wight… Miles apart but united by the sport of kings…

With the weather affecting the national hunt fixtures and nothing we really fancied on the all weather or at the Meydan carnival, we decided to keep our cash in our pockets… But we are back today with a full blog…

Charlies Selections & Rich having the Final Word, so lets get cracking…

Charlie –

1.55 Doncaster

Ozzie The Oscar 🌟🌟- Won last time out at Cheltenham over 2m in a Class 2 Handicap Chase on the 15th December last year beating Bun Doran by 3 and 1/2 lengths and should have too much class for this field and at 100-30 is a price I’m happy to take.

Win Advised

.

1.35 Huntingdon
Duc Kauto 🌟🌟- Won last time out at Plumpton in a Class 5 Handicap Hurdle over 2m 5f in January beating Zante by 1 and 3/4 of a length. Has gone up 6lb for that but drops back to 2m 3f and 137y that may put Duc back in the frame here if in same mood and at 11/4 seems about right.
Win Advised
.
5.15 Newcastle
Equiano Springs 🌟🌟- Has a win and a 2nd here from last two visits won over 7f in December and was 2nd over 6f in January and has only been raised 2lb and could get competitive again in this similar race and at 100-30 is a price I’m comfortable taking.
Win Advised
.
Well that’s my thoughts on Friday’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket.
I will now hand you back over to Rich for the Final Word.

Mondays Racing….

Hello and welcome to arseonlinetips. A 100% independent racing website with NO affiliate links. This website is curated by 2 racing enthusiasts from either end of the British Isles. Charlie hails from Glasgow, while Rich is from the Isle of Wight… Miles apart but united by the sport of kings…

Charlie landed a nice winner on Saturday and a couple of nice priced places, while Final Word joined in on the act too, so not to be out done. There is no rivalry here, just friendly encouragement…. And a fantastic team work.

Charlie will have a few selections while Rich will have the Final Word…

Charlie – Cheers Rich let’s begin with a recap on Saturday’s performance, my Nap Ballymoy won as expected advised at 9-2 my Nb Mr Whitaker was 4th advised at 7-1 as was my 3b Ballyarthur at 14-1. If you used skybet for those on Saturday they paid out for 4 places in those two races and would have seen the Eachway treble pay around 7-1. Now that’s out the way let’s crack on with Monday’s selections listed below.

2019-01-12-11-36-12

2019-01-21-00-50-38

Goodnight Charlie -Has a great record here with two 2nd places and a win from last 3 visits here over 3m. Only blip came at Uttoxeter two starts back over 3m 2f. If returning in same mood as last time when finishing 2nd behind Commodore could go one better today. Was 9-1 last night but now as short as 13-2 in places and if using skybet they are doing 4 places in this race.

Eachway Advised

.

Ocean Cove -Won at Ayr over 3m back in April last year in a Class 3 Novice Hurdle. Although was a disappointing 9th at Newbury in November over 3m in a Class 2 Handicap Hurdle. Seemed more like himself last time out at Uttoxeter when finishing 3rd over 2m 7f in a Class 3 Handicap Hurdle back in November. Has undergone wind surgery since that last run and if repeating form shown previously could be a bit a value at around at time of writing  4-1

Win Advised

.

Sajanjl -Was 5th here over course and distance back in September last year. Has finished 4th at Chelmsford over 1m also in September last year before going to Kempton and finishing 3rd over 1m in October last year. Was tested until making reappearance at Newcastle on the 2nd of January and finished 2nd behind Cloudlam over 1m 2f. Booking of Adam Kirby looks interesting and could be a sign that connections fancy his chances today.

Win Advised

.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you back over to Rich for The Final Word.

.

Final Word with Rich –

Thanks Charlie, it was nice to join you in the winners enclosure on Saturday, shows we are heading in the right direction….

I have 3 from the evening meeting at Wolverhampton for you today….

4.50 Handicap… 3YO Only… Class 4…5f…

Lorna Cole…. Runner up over C&D on 2nd career start by a neck on December 1st. Made a winning start having won on debut over 5f at Lingfield by a nose on November 16th. Made it 2 wins from 3 runs at Newcastle last time out over 5f on January 8th winning by 1 & 1/2 lengths & makes handicap debut today….

5.25.. Novice Stakes… 3YO Only… Class 5… 1m 1f 104yds…

Kniver Edge… Beaten 1 & 1/4 lengths on race course debut at Chelmsford over 1m 2f in a C4 novice stakes on January 10th…

DANGER…. War Tiger… 4th over C&D on race course debut back in November. Finished a 3 length 3rd over 1m 2f at Newcastle in a C5 novice stakes on January 6th…

7.55 Handicap… Class 6… 1m 142yds

Big Bad LOL…. Last won in December 2017 over C&D but form reads 3/2/2/2/3/3/2 since July 2018. Finished a 1 length runner up last time out over C&D in a C6 apprentice handicap on January 11th. David Probert is in the plate today, who has a 19% SR in 2019

That is everything for you today folks. If you have not read our latest BIG Interview, please head to our main page to find it… Thanks for popping by folks…

As regular readers of our blogs know, we will only publish a blog when we think we can help and we don’t go blogging just for the sake of it, hence that is why we have been absent this week, along with the news that we have been working very hard to try and secure some top class interviews for you guys….

We would like to pass on our thoughts go out to the family, friends and colleagues of Natasha Galpin, who sadly passed away in an accident on the gallops this week.

We are back today, Charlie has his Saturday selections while Rich will as always have the Final Word, so lets get cracking and see what we have for you….

Charlie –

2019-01-12-11-36-12

2019-01-19-11-24-27

. Ballymoy 🌟🌟-Has been in fantastic form of late winning 4 times from last 5 runs. The wins have came over distances of 2m to 2m 3f beginning with a Class 4 Novice Hurdle at Bangor in March last year and finishing off with a Class 2 Handicap Hurdle at Haydock on the 22nd December last year. Only blip came two runs back when finishing 4th in a Class 1 Listed Hurdle at Newbury over 2m. Has gone up a further 5lb for latest win and main threat comes in the shape of Better Getalong who was 2nd to Ballymoy last time out but has a weight pull of 5lb due to that race.

.

Win Advised

.

Mister Whitaker 🌟🌟-Winner of 3 out of last 4 runs. First of those wins came at Cheltenham over 2m 5f in a Class 2 Novice Chase in January last year. Went back to Cheltenham in March and won again in a Class 1 Listed Novice Chase over 2m 4f. Was then sent to Carlisle and won again in a Class 1 Listed Chase over 2m 4f. Latest run came at Cheltenham in November last year when finishing 4th in a Class Group 3 Chase over 2m 4f. If turning up in same mood shown in previous races should be in the mix here but will need to dig deep again.

Win Advised

.

. Ballyarthur 🌟🌟- Although hasn’t set the world on fire in regards to winning. Has ran with some promise on several occasions most notably last time out when only just outstayed by Daklondike at Haydock. The pair meet again today and although Ballyarthur is 8lbs higher if in same mood as last time should be in the mix again today and at 14-1 is a risk I’m willing to take.

Win Advised

.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you back over to Rich for The Final Word.

.

Final Word with Rich –

Thanks Charlie, mon the 3 rather than the lucky last after all you are due a full house soon! I have thoughts from Ascot, Lingfield and Haydock, so lets get down to business…

Native River winning the Cheltenham Gold Cup
Native River Winning the Cheltenham Gold Cup

Ascot… Good to Soft…

2.25 Holloways Handicap Hurdle… Grade 3… 2m 3f 58yds…

Ballymoy… When I was away in Ireland last year, I was taling to a gentleman and he said to me that Ballymoy was one to note for the next couple of seasons, so here we are.. Having won 5 from 6 runs in 2018 and the only defeat was by 5 lengths to Global Citizen at Newbury on December 1st. He was stepped up in trip last time out to 2m 3f on December 22nd in a Haydock C2 handicap, winning by 4 & 1/2 lengths from Better Getalong, who now has 5Lb in hand from Ballymoy but I cannot see that form being turned around today…

The DANGER could come from Seddon.. Who has finished 3rd in his last 2 starts both in Grade 2 company and now drops to Grade3 having won a C3 2m novice hurdle on November 1st, his first hurdle start…

Lingfield – All Weather – Standard…

2.00 Class 2 Handicap… 1m 4f..

Redicean… A course and distance winner last time out on December 22nd in a C2 handicap by 4 & 1/2 lengths. The 149 rated hurdler had previously won a C4 1m 4f handicap at Wolverhampton, winning by 1/2 a length. The 5YO gelding has been raised 5Lb for the last time out win and is now rated 97. Looking for 3 wins on the bounce…

Haydock.. Good to Soft…

1.30 Novice Chase… Grade 2… 2m 4f…

Jerrysback… The 148 top rated horse in this race has won a Bangor 2m 4f Beginners Chase by 1 length on his second chase start after a debut 5th. A runner up last time out on December 21st in the Grade 2 Noel Novice Chase over 2m 5f at Ascot, when beaten by 1 & 1/2 lengths from Vindication…

2.05 Novice Hurdle… Grade 2… 1m 7f 144yds…

Mister Fisher… Having been beaten a short head on hurdle debut on November 8th in a C4 2m novice hurdle, the win wasn’t long in coming when on Boxing day over 2m at Kempton Mister Fisher landed a C2 novice hurdle by 2 & 3/4 lengths and that day he had 2 140+ rated horses in behind….

2.40 The new One Hurdle(Champion Hurdle Trial)… Grade 2… 1m 7f 144yds

Silver Streak….The C/D winner has finished runner up on his last two starts. In November was a neck 2nd to Nietzsche at Cheltenham in the Grade 3 Greatwood Hurdle before finishing runner up by 1 & 1/2 lengths to Brain Power again at Cheltenham over 2m 179yds in the Grade 2 International Hurdle on December 15th….

Altior deserves a mention, although it’s not a great race for betting. Fox Norton could run a huge race but I think it is unlikely that Altior will be beaten unless he beats himself…

That is everything for you today folks, thanks for popping by and we hope you have enjoyed our blog & website, please feel free to read our past interviews…

The BIG Interview will be published at 7pm tomorrow….

All the Best – Charlie & Rich

Saturdays Racing….

Hello and welcome to arseonlinetips. A free 100% independent racing website with NO affiliate links. This website is curated by 2 racing enthusiasts from either end of the British Isles, Charlie hails from Glasgow while Rich is from the Isle of Wight… Miles apart but united by the sport of kings…

After Charlie landed his Lucky last on Thursday and a Winner(albeit a Danger) in Richs Final Word column, we are back for more….

Standard blog with Charlies Saturday selections while Rich will have the Final Word, so with a rammed set of cards to get through, lets see what we have for you all….

Charlie – Cheers Rich been a frustrating few months from a betting perspective, too many 2nd and 3rd placed runners and being reliant on lucky last selection to dig me out of a hole. Hopefully that’s behind us now and we can get back to winning ways for our followers. Anyway enough about that let’s see what gems I’ve uncovered for today’s races.

2019-01-12-11-36-12

2019-01-12-11-36-53.jpg

Top Notch 🌟🌟-Top Notch has been there and done it all in terms of ability, although was 3rd at Ascot last time out over 3m in a Class 1 Group 1 Hurdle, reverts back to the larger obstacles here and a return to a more suitable track all point to a positive run. Nicky Henderson has a fantastic record at Kempton and Top Notch could add to the already bulging accolades he has achieved at this track.

Win Advised

.

Ballykhan 🌟🌟-Has placed 2nd here on last 2 visits to Kempton over 3m, although without a win since the summer of 2016 Ballykhan likes it here and the Twiston Davies yard are starting to get their horse’s back to the form they have shown in previous years. The only negative is the tongue-tie has been removed for this run but Ballykhan has plenty of ability just needs a little luck in running to get back in the winners enclosure and this race is as good a chance as any.

Win Advised

.

Keeper Hill 🌟🌟-Form has been a bit sketchy at best but took great strides into rectifying that last time out when finishing 2nd to Aaron Lad at Cheltenham over 3m in December. If turning up In same mood shown at Cheltenham should have too much for this field but will need to assert his presence in this race if he wants to go one better today.

Win Advised

.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you back over to Rich for The Final Word.

.

Final Word with Rich –

Thanks Charlie, cracking winner on Thursday hopefully we can build on that… What do I have for you today…. Fairyhouse, Warwick & Kempton is what I have, so without too much of a fanfare…. Here we go!

Fairyhouse… Good to Yielding…

1.00 Hurdle… 2m…

Surin…. NHF winner over 2m at Market Rasen in October by a head before moving yards. Made Hurdle debut over 2m at Punchestown, finishing a 1/2 length runner up to Gardens of Babylon, who is also in the field. Surin receives 8Lb from that rival today….

Kempton… Good…

2.05 Class 1 Listed Chase… 2m 4f…

Top Notch…. Finished 3rd on season return in the JLT Hurdle, Grade 1 at Ascot on December 22nd and now the Grade 1 winning novice chaser makes a switch back to bigger fences. Last seen in this sphere in April, when landing the Oaksey Chase, Grade 2 at Sandown. The 3 time Grade 2 winning chaser is joint top rated at 162  and has to give weight to the field…

Warwick… Good…

1.50 Class 1 Listed Novice Chase… 3m…

Rocky Treasure…. Has won 3 of the 4 chase runs and finished a 4 length runner up to Santini in a Grade 2 in the other run… A last time out winner at Doncaster in the Grade 2 December Chase over 2m 8f by 17 lengths on December 15th and now has to give weight to the field for that win…

2.25 Grade 2 Class 1 Novice Hurdle… 2m 5f…

Tidal Flow… Is 2 from 2 over hurdles after landing a pair of 2m 5f novice races at Kempton on November 12th on hurdles debut by 2 lengths and notched a last time out win at Newbury on December 19th by 1 & 3/4 lengths, defying a penalty. Has top rating of 139 in this race but receives 5Lb from Grade 2 winning Rockpoint, who was a 2 & 3/4 length winner at Cheltenham on December 15th….

3.35… Class 2 Handicap Hurdle… 3m 1f…

First Assignment... Won on season return on October 26th in a Class 3 handicap hurdle at Cheltenham by a short head before landing a 3m Class 1 Listed contest at the same course on November 17th. The winning run came to an end, when on November 24th First Assignment finished 3rd by 1 3/4 lengths to Paisley Park in the 3m Grade 3 Stayers at Haydock. That form has been boosted by Paisley Park winning an Ascot Grade 1 last month while runner up Shades at Midnight also won next time out. Has had a break and that form looks very solid….

That is everything for you today folks, thanks very much for popping by. Your support is very much appreciated….

A standard blog, for those of you who read our blogs and for those of you who are new, Charli will have his Thursday Thoughts while Rich will have the Final Word…..

Charlie –

2019-01-09-22-31-43

Come On Charlie 🌟🌟-Won last two starts over 2m 3f at Stratford in October and then Musselburgh over 2m 4f in December. Was a bit fortunate at Musselburgh as the leader fell 2 out and left Come On Charlie in the clear, has no penalty for that win and steps up in distance to 3m 1f and 71y. Team Hobbs are flying at the moment and another bold show looks likely today.

Win Advised

.

Black Salt 🌟🌟-Has won twice here in last 3 runs sandwiched between those wins was a respectable 3rd at Wolverhampton all over 6f. Although is now rated 8lb higher still looks to be progressing and there could be more to come.

Win Advised

.

Foreign Legion 🌟🌟-Ran 4th at Southwell and Lingfield in December before being touched into 2nd here by African Blessing over 7f on the 3rd of January. Steps back up in distance to 1m today and given he stays 1m 4f a bold display looks likely.

Win Advised

.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you back over to Rich for The Final Word.

Final Word with Rich –

Royal Marine… A winner of 2 of the 3 runs last season. Won a Doncaster 7f maiden from Turgenev, who won 2 from 3 races after this defeat. Royal Marine was last seen in October winning the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere by a neck in October and now makes Dirt(All Weather) debut on seasonal return… DANGER… Walking Thunder… Who is 2 from 2 in 2018 and won a Conditions Stakes race by 4 & 1/2 lengths over C&D on December 6th…

4.15 Handicap… Turf… 6f…

Lazy Sunday afternoon….

Welcome to arseonlinetips. A 100% independent racing website with NO affiliate links curated by 2 racing enthusiasts from either end of the British Isles. Charlie hails from Glasgow while Rich is from the Isle of Wight, miles apart but united by the sport of kings….

Not the best day for us yesterday but we always look forward and not back, Sunday has a surprisingly reasonable cards in both the UK & Ireland, with racing from Newcastle, Plumpton & Naas in Ireland.

Charlie will deliver his Sunday Service while Rich will have the Final Word….

Charlie – Cheers Rich, before we get down to Sunday’s races I thought I would recap on yesterday’s performance so here goes- Darius Des Bois was beaten into 2nd by the Gary Moore trained Larry who won by 7 lengths. Le Reve finished a poor 8th in the veterans race that was won by Houblon Des Obeaux with Theatre Guide some 15 length behind in 2nd. My final selection Kupatana fell 2 out when leading by 1 length, race was eventually won by Molineuax with Enola Gay in 2nd beat by 3/4 of a length. Now that’s out of the way let’s crack on with Sunday’s selections.

2019-01-06-11-52-31

.Won a Class 5 Handicap at Wolverhampton on Boxing Day beating Tommy Doc by a short head. Has gone up 3lbs for that win and could go in again here for Sir Mark Prescott and Luke Morris doing the steering and at 11-8 seems a fair price for today’s Nap.

. Has finished 2nd in last 3 chases, the first of those was at Listowel in September over 2m 1f, next was at Fairyhouse in October over 2m. The latest one came at Fairyhouse again over 2m on the 1st of December when  beaten 5 lengths by Duca De Thaix . Has had a few weeks rest since that race in December and can gain a welcome win here with Rachel Blackmore doing the steering and at 5-2 is today’s 3b selection.

.Had won 5 straight races over hurdles when last seen in 2016 for Gordon Elliot, makes chase debut and if retaining any of the form shown over hurdles could be too classy for this field but will have to be fully switched on here, has previously gone well fresh and that’s a positive and at 13-8 is a price I’m happy to take.

Was 4th at Uttoxeter in September over 2m 4f in a Class 4 Novice Hurdle. Then was sent to Southwell in October to contest a Class 4 Novice Chase over 2m and finished 2nd, most recently was 2nd at Leicester over 2m in a Class 4 Handicap Chase  beaten some 16 lengths by Le Precieux. Cybalko seemed to hang left when jumping and going left handed today should rectify that and if handling the step back up in distance could go in here and is today’s Nb selection at 11-4

Standard blog with Charlies Saturday Selections while Rich will have the Final Word…. So lets get the party started….

Darius Des Bois 🌟🌟-Was a winner over 3m at Newbury in a Class 4 Handicap Hurdle back in March last year after having a wind op. Was then sent to Ayr and placed 2nd over 3m in a Class 3 Novice Hurdle in April. Was then put away until making reappearance at Ludlow on the 5th December when finishing 2nd over 3m in a Class 3 Novice Chase. Drops back in trip for today’s race and although stays further this looks like a positive move by the Champion Trainer Nicky Henderson who will want to get a positive result before finalising his Cheltenham target and at 5-2 is today’s Nap selection.

.

Le Reve 🌟🌟-Has won here over course and distance twice in the past and showed a bit of encouragement last time out when making reappearance after having a lengthy absence finishing 3rd of 3 in a veterans race at Warwick in November. A positive is the fact that today’s race is on a right handed track and all wins have came when racing on right handed tracks and at 15-2 could be a nice Eachway play for today’s 3b.

Eachway Advised

.

Kupatana 🌟🌟-Has finished 1st or 2nd in all races completed since March last year, although only blip came last time out when unseating jock at Wincanton in December over 2m 4f. If jumping better here can make amends for that blip last time out and give Nicky Henderson another winner and at 4-1 is today’s Nb selection.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you back over to Rich for The Final Word.

Final Word with Rich….

Cheers Charlie, it’s great to be back & we are all hoping to hit the winners trail again….

Sandown… Good to Soft…

1.50 Mares’ Hurdle… Class 1 Listed… 2m 3f 173yds…

Laurina… 4 from 4 in hurdle races last season, winning the Grade 2 Mares’ novice hurdle at Cheltenham in March before taking the Grade 12m 4f at Fairyhouse when last seen in April & makes season return today… DANGER… Sensulano… Is 2 from 2 hurdle runs this season and won a Class 2 2m 4f handicap hurdle at Cheltenham on December 15th by 2 lengths…

2.25 Tolworth Novice Hurdle…. Grade 1…. 1m 8f….

Elixir De Nutz… Top Rated in this race having won the Supreme Trial(Grade2) at Cheltenham in November before dropping to a Class 3 2m 1f novice hurdle by 1 & 3/4 lengths from Jarveys Plate, who has since landed the Listed Ballymore novice hurdle… The one to beat! (Famous last words!)

Lingfield(All Weather) … Standard…

1.15 Handicap… Class 3… 1m 2f…

Shargiah… Has not been seen on a race track for 568 days, has moved from Roger Varian to Mick Appleby. When with Roger, he landed 4 wins from 8 career runs and 3 of the 4 wins were over 1m 2f. Last seen landing a Sandown 1m 2f class 3 handicap by 2 & 1/2 length… Interesting.

Let’s start with a Boom……

Hello and welcome to arseonlinetips. A 100% free & Independent racing website curated by 2 racing enthusiasts from either end of the British Isles, Charlie hails from Glasgow while Rich is from the Isle of Wight… Miles apart but united by the sport of kings…

Happy New Year to you, Hello to new readers and welcome back to our regular readers. Chelt

That is enough excitement for one day… Oh no wait, we have a blog for you today… Plenty to get stuck into, so let’s see what we have!!! Charlie has his first selections of 2019 and Rich will have the Final Word…. Over to you Charlie….

2018-12-31-23-28-30

Upsilon Bleu 🌟🌟-Was 2nd in this race last year to Knockgraffon who is 2lb better off this time around and has undergone wind surgery, Upsilon Bleu was 3rd on seasonal return at at Kelso on the 9th of December in a Class 2 Handicap Chase over 2m 6f some 3 and 1/4 length behind winner Cultram Abbey. That run should have blown the cobwebs away and should strip better here. Mix Boy is 4 from 8 over fences for K Dalgleish and has won here previously and Fourth Bridge has been holding it’s form without winning in last 6 runs. I feel this race looks between these 4 and my preference is for Upsilon Bleu to gain revenge for last year’s 2nd to Knockgraffon.

Win Advised

.

Chica Buena 🌟🌟🌟-Was 2nd at Listowel in a 2m Hurdle race on 9th September, before going on a winning run of 4 straight victory’s starting with a Maiden Hurdle at Balinrobe over 2m, then was a Class 4 Hurdle victory over 2m 1f at Sedgefield, next win came at Musselburgh in a Class 4 Handicap Hurdle over 2m and the last win was more recently on the 8th December in a Class 1 Listed Hurdle at Aintree over 2m 1f beating Liffeydale Dreamer by 23 lengths. Handicapper has gave her a 13lb hike in the weights as a result of that win and she takes a drop in trip to 1m 7f 124y to try and negate the penalty. I feel Chica has too much class in comparison to today’s field and if handling the weight increase should follow up again here.

Win Advised

.

Aux Pit Soins 🌟🌟-Ex Paul Nicholls horse who is now in the care of D Skelton, made debut for new connections on the 30th November at Newbury in a Class 2 Handicap Hurdle over 3m and finished 5th some 11 length behind winner Vive Le Roi. Should fair better here after that pipe opener and this race looks wide open form wise. With biggest threats coming in the shape of Jersey Bean and Vive Le Roi who haven’t been outside first two places in last few starts. Aux Pit Soins gets my selection to take the win for the Skelton yard here and hopefully kick-start 2019 with a winner.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you back over to Rich for The Final Word.

Final Word with Rich –

Thanks Charlie, it was a decent end to 2018 and lets hope it will be a decent start to 2019… We have Fakenham, Southwell, Fairyhouse & Cheltenham…..

Fairyhouse… Good…

12.20 Maiden Hurdle… 2m 4f…

Momus… Mentioned in this column when last running over 2m in a maiden at Navan on December 16th, when finishing 13 lengths behind Battleoverdoyen, (who could be a very good horse) and now goes back up in trip….

Fakenham… Good…

1.55… Handicap Hurdle… Class 3… 2m 4f…

The Very Thing… Finished 3rd on hurdle debut which was followed by a 6 length runner up spot at Wetherby on November 28th. First past the post last time out at this course over 2m on December 18th, with the front pair 3 lengths clear of the field. Places reversed as The Very Thing hung right handed into the rival and has been raised 2 for that. Hopefully compensation will be gained today now up in trip…

Southwell(All Weather)… Standard..

2.55 Handicap… 21m 13yds…

Taqar… A last time out C/D winner on November 30th, making it 2 wins from 3 runs when landing the prize by 2 & 1/4 lengths and has been raised 5 for the win….

img_20170210_145625

Cheltenham…. Good to Soft…

12.15 Novice Hurdle… Class 1 Listed… 2m 4f 56yds…

I Can’t Explain…. A 3m point to point winner before joining Nicky Henderson. Made stable debut in heavy conditions at Sandown in a 2m C3 novice hurdle, winning by 5 lengths and now steps up in class & trip…

1.25 Dipper Novice Chase… Grade 2… 2m 4f 127yds…

Defi Du Seuil…. POrior to going chasing at the start of this season, Defi had an 80% strike rate at this course with 4 wins from 5 runs. He made his chase debut here, when finishing a 25 length 5th to Lalor in the Arkle Trial(1m 7f) on November 18th before heading to Exeter on December 7th. Stepped up in trip to 2m 3f in a C2 novice chase, Defi landed the odds from Topofthegame by 3 & 1/2 lengths. The runner up has since finished runner up to La Bague Au Roi in the Kauto Star at Kempton….

The DANGER could come from…. On The Blind Side… Who was 3 from 3 last season over hurdles until heading to Aintree in April, when finishing a 9 length 6th to Black Op. Has since had a wind operation and now makes chase debut on season return….

2.30 Handicap Hurdle… Class 2… 2m 8f…

Jersey Bean... Two wins and a runner up spot from the last 3 runs. Winning a C3 2m 4f Market Rasen handicap hurdle by 4 & 1/2 lengths in October before heading to Newbury to land a 3m C3 handicap hurdle by 4 lengths on November 8th. Back to Market Rasen on November 22nd. Finishing a 1 & 1/2 length runner up to Aaron Lad, who has since won a Cheltenham C2. The front 2 were 10 lengths in front of the filed at the line…

3.10 Relkeel Hurdle… Grade 2… 2m 4f 56yds…

Clyne...Finished 3rd in the Aintree Hurdle back in April and made seasonal reappearance at Newbury, when finishing runner up to Unowhatimeanharry in the grade 2 Long Distance Hurdle(3m) by 2 & 1/2 lengths. The drop in trip is likely to be no issue  and has placed in 4 of the 5 Graded races contested…

That is a bumper New Years day blog for you. Thank you all for you support in 2018, when we had over 24,400 views and we will be looking to hit 25,000 in 2019…

All the Best – Charlie & Rich
