Welcome to arseonlinetips. A 100% independent racing website, with no affiliate links in sight… This website is curated by two racing enthusiasts from either end of the British Isles, Charlie hails from Glasgow while Rich is from the Isle of Wight… Miles apart but united by the sport of kings…

Not the best Saturday we have ever had and one that, as a blogging day will not live long in the memory. The racing on the other hand was fantastic and the Lancashire Chase was simply fantastic, Bristol Da Mai ran a cracker, while Thistlecrack finished the race looking like he could go another couple of furlongs, which is great news for racing…..

Charlie has his Sunday Service while Rich has the Final Word….

First Approach -Won at Tipperary over 2m 4f in October, was then sent to Cork and finished 2nd over 2m 3f. Latest race was at Down Royal over 2m 6f in a Maiden Hurdle and First Approach won beating Diamond Turf by 13 lengths. Has been in great shape the past few runs and won with plenty in hand last time out and could easily go in again if in same frame of mind.

Win Advised

.

Spider Webb -Won at Leopardstown in March over 2m 5f in a Handicap Chase beating Uncle Danny by 1 and 3/4 lengths, was then sent to Ballinrobe to race in a Handicap Chase over 2m 7f and finished 2nd to Kaiser Black. Was then sent to Galway in August and fell. Latest race was at Limerick in October when Spider Webb won again beating Na Trachtalai Abu by 3/4 of a length over 3m. Has been in fine fettle of late and this Jp Mcmanus owned horse should run its race again Gerraghty has chosen Squouateur as his mount and I feel he has chosen the wrong mount. I guess we will find out if I’m right after the race.

Win Advised

.

New Millennium -Has finished 3rd twice and 2nd once in Chases over 2m at Worcester and Newton Abbot. Last run was at Fontwell over 2m 2f and won beating Le Precieux by 4 lengths. If turning up in same frame of mind could go in again, main dangers come in the shape of Night Of Sin and Watcombe Heights trained by Nick Williams and Colin Tizzard retrospectively.

Win Advised

.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, Good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you back over to Rich for the Final Word.

Final Word with Rich –

Cheers Charlie, what I will take from yesterdays racing is that River Wylde will win a race sooner rather than later and Politologue, will come on leaps from yesterdays run and could land a big pot or two this season….

Exeter… Good…

1.50 Handicap Chase…. Class 3…. 3m 54yds…

Royal Palladium… Last seen pulling up over 3m 6f back in April and has been off since, some 222 days and his record after breaks of 200= days reads 1/2 and he is now below his last winning mark of 122, down to 120 and is a C/D winner….

2.20 Novice Chase… Class 3… 3m 54yds…

Lil Rockerfella… Is two from two over bigger fences and won a 3m Class 2 Novice Chase at Cheltenham last time out on October 26th by 4 lengths.. ODDS ON!

3.20 Juvenile Hurdle…Class 4… 3YO Only… 2m 175yds…

Fanfan Du Seuil… A winner of a French hurdle prior to joining Tom George. Was going well in a Chepstow Class 4 Juvenile Hurdle on October 14th when falling 2 fences from home. The form of that race is interesting as 2 of the horses have since won 2 from 2…

Uttoxeter…. Good to Soft….

1.40 Mares’ Novice Hurdle… Class 4… 1m 8f…

Our Dot’s Baby…Winner on Hurdles debut over 2m at Ffos Las on October 20th. Was running a big race under a penalty on November 8th at Newbury in a Class 2 2m Novice Hurdle when unseating her Jockey….

2.20 Handicap Hurdle… Class 3… 2m 7f 70yds…

Notwhatimean…. Won here over C/D by a head in a Class 3 Handicap Hurdle on October 7th and like a couple of the other I have mentioned today, was running a big race when coming down 2 fences from home in a 2m 8f Class 2 Handicap Hurdle at Cheltenham ….

Navan… Good…

12.00 Maiden Hurdle… 2m 4f…

Momus… Won a Bumper(NHF) at Roscommon back in May by 13 lengths before making rules debut in a Galway Maiden Hurdle over 2m 3f on October 13th, finishing 3rd by 4 & 1/2 lengths. The winner, Sancta Simons has since won a Grade 3 Hurdle while 4th, some 3 lengths further back has also since won…

1.00 Novice Hurdle… Grade 3… 2m 4f…

Dinons… Has won 5 hurdle races on the bounce since falling on hurdle debut in July this year. Won a Cheltenham Class 2 2m 7f Novice Hurdle last time out by some 14 lengths from De Name Evades Me, who has since won….

Welcome to arseonlinetips. A 100% independent racing website brought to you by 2 racing enthusiasts and not a single affiliate link in sight…. Charlie hails from Glasgow, while Rich is from the Isle of Wight, miles apart but united by the sport of kings….

Charlie was amongst the winners again yesterday and Final Word had a winner and one to keep an eye on with Thomas Darby running a fine race at Ascot. Todays card a very impressive and the highlight has to be the Lancashire Chase at Haydock(3.00)…

It’s a standard blog again with Charlies Selections and Rich having the Final Word, so lets get cracking and see what we have in store for you all today?

Charlie –Β

2018-11-24-10-59-36

River Wylde -Was a fair 3rd in the Supreme two seasons back. Made winning chase debut at Uttoxeter last November, was then sent to Cheltenham later that month and finished 2nd some 18 length behind North Hill Harvey. Has been absent since and has undergone wind surgery in that time and a chance is taken that he wins on reappearance today and at 100-30 is a price I’m happy to take.

Win Advised

.

Cyrus Darius -Has some good form in the book, having won a Class 3 Handicap Chase at Ayr on heavy going over 2m 4f. Was then sent to Haydock to contest a Class 2 Chase over 2m 6f and finished 4th. Next race was at Wetherby over 1m 7f in a Class 2 Handicap Chase and finished 3rd. Was then rested until February this year and made a winning return at Kelso in a Class 2 Hurdle over 2m 2f beating Better Getalong by 12 lengths. Was then sent to Aintree to race over 2m 4f in a Class 1 Group 1 hurdle and finished 5th behind Liami Serge. Has now moved yards from Ruth Jefferson to Colin Tizzards and has undergone wind surgery, although he’s the oldest in this field the wind surgery could spark a return to the form shown at Ayr and Kelso previously.

Win Advised

.

Modus -Won at Kempton in February over 2m 4f in a Class 2 Chase before disappointing in Class 1 chases at Cheltenham and Aintree both over 2m 4f. Returned to Cheltenham to contest another Class 2 Chase taking a drop in trip to 2m and won beating Duke of Navan by a head. There could be more to come from Modus who races off 6lb lower than hurdles mark and is taken to be victorious today.

Win Advised

.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you back over to Rich for the Final Word.

.

Final Word with Rich –

Thanks Charlie, another nice winner from you and we are looking great heading into todays racing…. Lets see what we have for you…. All from the fine National Hunt cards….

Ascot… Good to Soft…

12.55…. Bristol Chase(Novice Handicap)… Class 3… 2m 8f…

Cresswell Legend… Beaten a head on Chase debut over 2m 4f at Perth in September before finishing 9 lengths behind Drovers Lane(yes won on Thursday) over 3m. With Drovers and the 3rd also since winning the form is decent. Add to the mix that Cresswell is 2 from 2 over the distance and we could well have a winner on our hands….

2.05 Christy 1965 Chase… Grade 2… 2m 5f…

Politologue…. Has won on both seasons return since going chasing. The 7YO grey gelding is a 3rd season chaser and was a C/D winner of the Mitie Noel Chase in December 2016. He was last seasons Melling Chase winner at Aintree and has 2 Grade 1 wins under his belt and makes his seasonal bow here….

Haydock… Good to Soft…

1.15 Graduation Chase…. Class 2… 2m 5f 127yds…

River Wylde… Nicky Henderson’s Oscar gelding was a 3 length winner on Chase debut over 2m in a Class 3 at Uttoxeter on November 3rd 2017 and went to Cheltenham in the Arkle Trail(Grade2) on November 19th 2017. He finished 18 lengths behind North Hill Harvey in a 3 horse race. He has since had wind surgery and a year off. You could take the Arkle Trail form with a pinch of salt, but I look at it this way…. North Hill was 2nd in the King George VII to Might Bite and had every chance in the Grand Annual at Cheltenham when falling, while *Ozzie the Oscar(3rd that day) has won 2 Class 2 Handicap Chases and finished 1/2 length runner up to Gods Own in the Exeter Gold Cup earlier this month…..

*Ozzie the Oscar runs in the Hurst Park Handicap Chase at Ascot today(3.15)

2.25 Stayers Handicap… Grade 3… 3m 53yds…

First Assignment…. Arrives here looking for a 3rd win in 3 runs, having landed a 9 length C1 Listed contest at Cheltenham just last Saturday and runs under a penalty. If last weeks excursions have had no ill effects the step up in Grade could well be very rewarding….

3.00 Lancashire Chase…. Grade 1… 3m 1f 125yds…

Where to start here… Lets start with the Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Native River, who only had 2 runs last season starting at Newbury when beating Cloudy Dream before heading to Cheltenham to beat Might Bite by 4 & 1/2 lengths in a fantastic display of staying power. The Newbury run was his first win after a break and this could be his undoing today…

Might Bite won on season return last season when landing the Class 1 Intermediate Chase from Frodon by 8 lengths and his only defeat last season was at the hands of Native River having finished the season at Aintree in April when landing the Bowl by 7 lengths from Bristol De Mai….

And that brings us to Bristol Da Mai, was the winner of this race last season by a huge margin on heavy ground and was rated 173 at Kempton after his win here. He is now 165 and is having his second run after wind surgery last season but prefers the ground to be a lot softer. That said if he knows he can breath better now he could be a danger, although the ground is a big player…

Thistlecrack went the 2015/16 season over hurdles unbeaten, landing 3 Grade 1’s in the process and on the back of that season went chasing, he was in fine form landing the King George VII in his debut season before an epic battle with the late Many Clouds at Cheltenham in the Cotswold Chase(G2) but sadly injuries have blighted last season with only 2 runs and finishing 5th in the Long Distance hurdle on December 1st before finishing 4th to Might Bite in the King George VII on Boxing Day and has not been seen since, this is his season return like the rest of the field….

A safe return for all the horses today….

That is everything for you today folks…. Thanks for your continued support

Charlie hails from Glasgow while Rich is from the Isle of Wight. Miles apart but united by the sport of kings…

What a day yesterday was… 2 winners from Charlie & a place, while Rich had a winner & the first two home in the 6.00 at Wolves, so all in all it was a cracking day…. Lets see what today brings… Charlie has his selections while Rich will have the Final Word!

Charlie –Β

2018-11-23-10-18-47

Cloth Cap -Took to chasing quite well when placing 3rd at Huntingdon over 2m 4f in October, went better next time out when winning at Stratford over 2m 7f beating Soupy Soups by 2 lengths and that form has worked out well, as Soupy Soups finished 2nd again yesterday at Market Rasen to Drovers Lane franking the form. Has been raised 7lbs for that win and could go in again if in same mood.

Win Advised

.

Ridgeway Flyer -Was a fair 2nd at Wincanton over 3m 3f in a Class 3 Handicap Chase on the 28th October after almost a year off and having had wind op prior to reappearance. Takes a drop in trip to 2m 5f and 8y and if getting a clear run could go one better in this slightly deeper race.

Win Advised

.

Point In Time -Non Runner no replacement.

.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you back over to Rich for the Final Word.

Ascot… Good to Soft..

1.00 Novice Chase…. Class 3… 2m 3f…Β

wenyerreadyfreddie… Was 2nd on Chase debut to Lil Rockerfella, who won a class 2 chase next time out. Wenyerreadyfreddy landed a C/D Chase by 18 lengths on November 3rd and Nicky Hendersons Beneficial gelding has gone from 130 to 145 and Top rated in this race in the blink of an eye….

2.05 Introductory Hurdle…. Class 2… 1m 7f 152yds…

Thomas Darby… A winner on hurdle debut in a Class 3 maiden over 2m at Cheltenham, winning by 3 & 1/4 lengths from Elixir Denutz, who has since won the Grade 2 Supreme Hurdle Trail on November 18th….

Ffos Las…. Good to Soft…

2.50 Handicap Hurdle… Class 3…. 2m 5f 192yds…

Gardiners Hill… Beaten runner up by 3/4’s of a length in a Class 5, when last seen over hurdles on October 20th at this course over 2m 8f. Has since won back to back chases and now reverts back to hurdles….

That is all for today folks, thank you to everyone for your birthday wishes and for popping by….

2018-11-22-10-01-52

Drovers Lane -Has won 3 times and placed 2nd once from last 5 runs, wins have came at Uttoxeter, Worcester and Hereford over 2m to 3m 1f. Was a bit unlucky last time out at Aintree when finishing 7th after travelling well before making a blunder 3 from home. Drops back in trip to 2m 5f and 89y today and if fully recovered from that blunder at Aintree should fair better here.

Win Advised

.

Ticklish -Won a Class 5 Maiden Auction race on debut at Lingfield over 1m, was then sent to Longchamp and finished 5th over 1m in October. Latest race was at Kempton in a Class 6 Auction over 1m and finished 3rd after being too keen from the front. Takes a drop in distance to 7f and 14y and should return to winning ways if settling better.

Win Advised

.

Walk On Water -Won at Wolverhampton last time out over 6f beating Monumental Man by a nose, has been raised 3lbs for that win and if in same mindset today could go in again although will need a bit of luck in running.

Win Advised

.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you back over to Rich for his Birthday Bashing Final Word.

.

Final Word with Rich –

Thanks Charlie, lets hope it’s a day to remember…. Only a couple of places from this column yesterday, so I am hoping for a lot better today & a birthday winner would be just grand…. I have one at Market Rasen and a couple on the All Weather, so lets get cracking….

Market Rasen… Good to Soft…

2.00 Novice Handicap Chase… Class 3… 2m 5f 89yds…

Drovers Lane had a fine summer, winning two from 4 runs before having a break and returning on October 16th and making Chase debut in a C3 Novice Chase, winning by 9 lengths. Ran again on October 28th at Aintree in a C3 Novice Handicap Chase and was in contention & travelling well until a mistake 3 fences from home and faded out of contention and finished 23 lengths back in 7th… A drop back in trip today may help and if mistakes are kept to a minimum it could be a good day….

All Weather…..

Newcastle…. Standard…

1.20 Handicap Class 2… 1m 4f 98yds…

Victoria Drummond is a Sea the Stars filly who has won her last 2 starts since returning from a break. Winning by 1/2 a length at Chelmsford in a 1m 5f handicap on October 25th before a facile 9 length win at Southwell over 1m 4f in a Class 4 Handicap. Runs under a penalty today and is due to go up again after this race, so could be a good day to catch her before the penalty hike kicks in….

2.55 Maiden… Class 4… 2YO Only… 1m 2f 4yds…

Jalmoud is a New Approach colt out of Oaks winning Dam Dancing Rain. He is the FULL brother to Magic Lilly, who was a winner on 2YO debut and today he makes race course debut for Charlie Appleby.. Could be a one to WATCH for next season!

DANGER… Red Centre… Australia colt trained by John Gosden, who has a decent record at Newcastle. The colt was a 3 & 1/4 length 3rd on debut at Haydock over 1m on September29th and steps up in trip today….

Wolverhampton… Standard…

6.00 Fillies’ Novice Stakes… Class 5… 1m 142yds..

Continere… War Front filly, who was beaten by a nose over C/D on race course debut in a C5 Novice Stakes on October 30th. That form has been boosted with the winner going in again next time out….

DANGER… Panmolle…. Lawman filly, who was also a 1 & 1/4 length runner up on race course debut over 7f at Lingfield on September 5th in a C5 Novice Stakes. The winner has since won again & finished 2nd, while 3rd has also won since….

That’s all for today folks, a big THANK YOU to everyone who has supported us over the last couple of years, without you this would all be pointless….

All the Best – Charlie & Rich

Midweek Madness…..

Midweek Madness is a standard blog, with Charlie’s Selections and Rich having the Final Word, so lets get down to business….

Minellatillmorning -Won a Class 5 Conditions Hurdle at Taunton over 2m 3f in February. Was then sent to Fontwell 11 days later to contest a Class 4 Handicap Hurdle and won again beating The Green Ogre by 6 lengths. Latest run came at Chepstow when finishing 2nd over 2m 3f to Helluvagood who won byΒ  10 lengths. Although was soundly beaten last time if repeating form shown in the two races prior to that should be thereabouts again and at 12-1 is an Eachway play.

Eachway Advised

.

Bamako Du Chatelet -Won last two starts at Lingfield over 1m6f and 2m. Only win away from Lingfield came here last year off 2lbs lower. Takes a drop in distance today to 1m 4f and 51y,Β  if pace is quick that should play to his advantage here and a bold run is anticipated.

Win Advised

.

Danehill Quest -Has finished 2nd here last twice over 1m 4f and 1m 3f and looks to be finally holding his form. If getting a quick break and a faster pace that could play to his strengths and could be third time lucky here.

Win Advised

.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you back over to Rich for the Final Word.

.

Final Word with Rich –

Chepstow…. Good to Soft…

1.10 Maiden Hurdle… Class 5… 2m 3f 100yds…

Not Normal… Robin Des Champs gelding trained by Miss Emma Lavelle and is a half brother to Irish Listed winning hurdler Blood Crazed Tiger. He was beaten by 1 length when runner up on his final bumper start over 2m at Warwick in January. Hurdles debut on season return….

2.15 Novice Handicap Chase… Class 4… 2m 7f 131yds…

Warwick… Good..

Harambe… Was 3rd in the Grade 2 Bumper(NHF) at Aintree back in April & that form is working out well, with 1st,2nd,4th & 6th all winning on hurdle debut. Harambe was brought down on Hurdle debut at the first on November 7th at Chepstow and all being well, this could be compensation for that….

I have one on the All Weather for you…

Kempton(AW).. Standard..

6.40… Listed Stakes… Class 1… 1m..

Victory Bond… His AW form reads 1/2/1/2/1 and was last seen on the all weather back in March when landing the AWC Easter Classic at Lingfield from Master the World, who won the Churchill Stakes on Saturday at Lingfield. A slightly disappointing day yesterday, with Charlie’s selections either under performing or being brought down(up safe and returned home , so all ends well) It was nice to see Coneygree running a fantastic race and if staying clear of injury could well improve for the run and the wind operation….

Let’s see what we have for you today on the final day of the November meeting and a day out at Punchestown….

Chelt 2

Charlie –

Things haven’t gone to plan so far at Cheltenham for me, although it is not through lack of trying, we go again today and selections are listed below.

1.15 Claimtalkingforgran – Trained by Nicky Henderson Claimtalkingforgran won on chase debut at Uttoxeter over 2m last time out beating Chesterfield by 2 and 1/2 lengths. Takes a drop in distance to 1m 7f 199y and should go well again, biggest threat comes in the shape of Dynamite Dollars for the inform Nichols yard who have landed this race on 6 separate occasions.

Win Advised

.

3.00 Verdana Blue – Is another trained by Nicky Henderson, won a Class 1 listed race at Kempton over 2m back in October. Was then rested until November when being sent to Wincanton to race in a Class 1 Group 2 hurdle over 1m 7f beating If The Cap Fits by 2 and 1/4 lengths. If repeating the form shown in those 2 runs should have too much for this field.

Win Advised

.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you back over to Rich for the Final Word.

.

Final Word with Rich –

Cheers Charlie, it will all come good I have faith…This column did okay again yesterday with the notebook race having a 3rd & 4th on debut, while Nobel Mission had his first winner as a sire when Humanitarian won by 5 lengths on 2nd start at Lingfiled from Sash(both mentioned in here)

Chelt

Lets see what we have for Cheltenham & Punchestown….

Cheltenham… Good to Soft..

1.50 Arkel Trophy Trial Chase… Grade 2… 1m 8f..

Lalor was the winner of the Top Novice Hurdle over 2m at Aintree back in April when last seen and makes seasonal bow here and Chase debut…

  • Paul Nicholls has won this race 6 times since 2010 and runs Dynamite Dollars, who was a 9 length winner on chase debut….

2.25… Cheltenham Chase… Grade 2… 1m 8f…

Sceau Royal… Improved on hurdles form when winning 4 from 5 chase starts last season, culminating in landing the Henry VIII Novice Chase at Sandown, having taken a Grade 2 Chase at Doncaster when last seen in January 2018. Has been off since and this is a seasonal return, so tread carefully….

3.30 Supreme Novice Hurdle Trial… Grade 2… 2m 87yds…

Itchy Feet… Unbeaten in 3 runs this season, taking in a Bumper(NHF) and 2 novice hurdle races. Last seen landing a Class 1 Listed Kempton Novice Hurdle by 2 & 1/4 lengths and the runner up has since won…

Punch course

Punchestwon… Good…

1.40 Novice Chase.. Grade 2… 2m 6f 140yds..

Blow by Blow... Was a winner on chase debut at Galway in a 2m 6f Beginners Chase by 17 lengths…

It maybe worth noting that fellow Gigginstown runner Nick Lost is 2 from 3 over bigger fences and could well improve from the 6 length runner up spot last time out…

2.15 Morgiana Hurdle… Grade 1… 2m 40yds...

Samcro is on a comeback mission having fallen over C/D in the Champion Hurdle last season, won by Supersundae(Non Runner today) and then was a beaten runner up on seasonal return just 16 days ago, although it’s likely the run will have helped….

Faugheen has won this race the last 2 seasons and is back for a third crack. He was last seen winning the stayers hurdle at this course and has a fine course & distance record with 4 wins from 5 runs. If he is still Faugheen the Machine then Samcro could well be in trouble….

That’s all for the moment folks… We will be back after racing with the BIG Interview…

Singlefarmpayment

.Was 2nd here last time out, to Another Hero and has posted best Ratings at this track, without winning since December 2016, has finished 2nd in 3 of the last 5 visits to Cheltenham. Is now on a mark of 146 and has placed 2nd off 152 previously. If settling better today could be the answer in a wide open race with most of the field having questions to answer, Singlefarmpayment has a record of 112252 when completing the course here and looks the one to be on today.

Win Advised

.

Rather Be -Won a Class 3 Novice Chase over 2m at Wincanton on the 16th February beating Positively Dylan. Was then sent here to contest a Class 1 Listed Chase over 3m 2f and finished a head 2nd to Mister Whitaker. Rather Be has won after a break last 3 times it’s had a break dating back to 2016. It’s won after breaks of 204 days, 81 days, 236 days and today returns to track after 249 days away and another bold run is expected.

Win Advised

.

Christmas In April -Won at Warwick over 2m5f back in May this year beating Quiz Master by a nose, before changing yards from Nicky Henderson to Colin Tizzard. Was 3rd last time out here beaten by 2 and 1/4 lengths to First Assignment for new connections. If repeating that here could gain compensation and reward new yard with a welcome winner.

A Hare Breath 🌟🌟-Won at Sandown over 2m in a Class 1 listed Hurdle back in December last year. Has had two spins over Hurdles since then and finished 8th both times, first of those was in a Class 1 Group 3 Hurdle here over 2m 1f. The most recent defeat came at Ayr over 2m in a Class 1 Group 2 Hurdle in April this year. Although hasn’t won since December 2017, is still a bit green over the larger obstacles having only his 4th attempt over the bigger obstacles, goes well fresh and is just 1lb higher than last win mark over hurdles. Will need a bit of luck in running but has the scope to take career to next level as long as jumping cleanly.

Mr Whipped 🌟🌟-Won first 3 starts over Hurdles for Nicky Henderson these include a Class 4 Novice Hurdle over 2m at Kempton, another Class 4 Novice Hurdle over 2m 5f at Newbury and the final one was a Class 1 Group 2 Novice Hurdle over 2m 5f at Warwick. Was then 2nd in a Class 2 Novice Hurdle over 3m at Musselburgh in February this year. Latest race was at Cheltenham in March this year over 3m in a Class 1 Group 1 Novice Hurdle and pulled up. A line can be drawn through that blip and is taken to get back in Winners Enclosure today.

Win Advised

.

Pym 🌟🌟-Won with relative ease in a Class 4 Novice Hurdle over 2m at Chepstow back in October this year. Was then sent to Ascot and was beaten into 2nd over 2m in a Class 3 Novice Hurdle, steps up in trip today to 2m 5f and this more demanding track should suit and is taken to gain compensation for that 2nd place at Ascot last time out.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you back over to Rich for the Final Word.

Not quite what we expected on Monday, but with yesterday’s cards lacking the little spark we look for, it was better to keep our noses dry than to blog for the sake of blogging. We will only blog, if we find more than one horse that gives us a little spark…

There was plenty to interest us today, so a standard blog it is… Charlies Selections & Rich having the Final Word!

Birch Vale -Has won twice and placed 2nd once from last 3 starts. First of those wins came at Sedgefield in a Class 4 Novice Hurdle over 2m 1f on the 23rd March, when beating Raised On Grazeon by 1 and 1/4 lengths. Next race was 2nd in a Class 4 Novice Hurdle over 2m at Perth on the 27th April when losing by a neck to Floral Bouquet. Latest Win came at Hexam in another Class 4 Novice Hurdle over 2m on the 12th of May when beating Blue Baton by 2 and 3/4 lengths. Steps up in trip to 2m 4f for handicap debut and if in same mood today could easily go in again.

Mister Fizz -Won last 3 starts, first of those came at Southwell over 2m 4f in a Class 4 Handicap Hurdle on the 15th July beating Angel Of Harlem by 3 and 1/4 lengths. Next win came at Newton Abbot over 2m 3f in a Class 3 Handicap Hurdle on the 30th July beating Nabhan by 9 lengths. Most recent win came at Newton Abbot again over 2m 6f in a Class 3 Handicap Hurdle on the 15th August when beating Qualando by 2 and 3/4 lengths. Although is now considerably higher in weight due to those wins, takes a step back in trip to try and negate the burden and if in same mood could grab a place at a nice price for new connections.

Eachway Advised

.

Nayati -Won at Ascot in January over 2m in a Class 3 Hurdle over 2m beating Oisterakh Le Noir by a neck. Was then sent to Market Rasen to contest a Class 3 Handicap Hurdle over 2m 1f and finished 8th behind winner Solomon Grey. Latest race was at Chepstow in a Class 2 Handicap Hurdle over 2m on the 13th October and finished 3rd to Grand Sancy. Has only been raised 2lb for that and can go close again here.

Final Word with Rich –

Thanks Charlie, it was a tough day all round yesterday. Acey Milan is one I like very much and it was an encouraging Hurdle debut and I think he will come on for that run & the experience…. I am sticking with National Hunt racing today, despite the All Weather card at Southwell, so let’s crack on….

Kempton… Good to Soft..

12.45 Novice Hurdle.. Class 4.. 2m..

Epatante is a 4YO No Risk at All Filly for Nicky Henderson. JP. McManus owned and has been brought over from France, having won 2 out of 3 Bumpers. UK debut..

2.55 Handicap Hurdle.. Class 2.. 2m 5f..

Potterman is two from two over hurdles in 2018, although has not been seen since winning a Class 4 Novice Hurdle over 2m 4f at Bangor, in a match race in June. Up in class & returns after 160 days away….

Carlisle… Good to Soft..

1.30 Novice Chase.. Class 3..

Vinndication was 4 from 4 last season, winning a NH Bumper and 3 hurdle races. Last seen landing a 2m 3f Class 1Listed hurdle for Kim Bailey by 3 & 1/4 lengths. Returns after 277 days away and makes chase debut…

2.35..Graduation Chase.. Class 2.. 1m 8f..

One for Billy Was running a very good race last time out at Cheltenham on October 26th, when running out in the closing stages. Dan Skelton will be hoping for the 3rd chase win after 3 runner up spots and 2 wins from the 6 Chase starts….

That all for today folks, thanks for your continued support….
