4 Unraced Ballydoyle Juveniles To Follow

The Colts –

NAME – Van Gogh
DOB – 11/02/2018
PEDIGREE – American Pharoah x Imagine

VERDICT – Van Gogh’s Sire is 2015 American triple crown winner American Pharaoh,  who has made a very promising start to his stud career here and across the Atlantic. Van Gogh’s dam Imagine, won the Irish 1000 Guineas & Epsom Oaks in 2001 and is the Daughter of 14 time champion sire Sadler’s Wells.

Imagine has recently retired from breeding and is enjoying her well deserved retirement at Coolmore Stud in Fethard. Imagine in total has given birth to 13 foals ,Van Gogh’s (12th foal) siblings include Group One winner Horatio Nelson,  Group Two Winners Viscount Nelson & Kitty Matchum, Group 3 winner Point Piper along with Group 3 placed Red Rock Canyon, multiple race winner General Macarthur and race winners Adeste Fideles, Mona Lisa’s Smile & Assagher.

Van Gogh has had his name changed 3 times already this year as he was previously named Diaghilev & Van Dongen. His latest name change can only be seen as a major upgrade and is backed up by a potent pedigree, that leads me to the conclusion that this horse will be a top class animal and no doubt Aidan will have classic aspirations for him.

To me he has been given a sires name and he is one I am truly looking forward to seeing.

NAME – Brazil
DOB – 06/03/2018
PEDIGREE – Galileo x Dialafara

VERDICT – Brazil is by champion sire Galileo & is the 7th foal out of Dialafara, a race winning Daughter of Anabaa.
Brazil’s siblings include Capri, winner of the Irish Derby & St Leger in 2017 along with Group 3 winner Cypress Creek.
Other siblings include race winners Jamaica & Sovereign Parade and the highly regarded Ballydoyle 3 year old filly Passion. Brazil most likely won’t be seen until we start the 7 furlong maidens but could become a contender for something like the Vertem Futurity Trophy Stakes at Doncaster or the end of season Group 1 races in France.

I’m expecting that Brazil will become a leading contender for next years Epsom Derby.

The Fillies’ –

NAME – Madonna
GENDER – Filly
DOB – 11/05/2018
PEDIGREE – Galileo x Sumora

VERDICT – Madonna is by champion sire Galileo and her dam Sumora is the listed winning daughter of champion sire Danehill. The Galileo/Danehill cross is one of the most powerful crosses in the history of the sport.
Madonna’s siblings include the 2011 European Champion Two Year Old Filly Maybe, who won the Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot, The Silver Flash Stakes Debutante Stakes & Moyglare Stud Stakes Group 1.

Maybe is also the dam of 2000 Guineas winner Saxon Warrior. Madonna’s siblings also include the Group 1 placed Promise To Be True, Group 2 placed Barbados & race winner Fluff.
Madonna is a May foal so she may not be seen until the second half of the season but I’m expecting her to shape up into a leading 1000 Guineas & Oaks prospect in 2021, she has also been given an exciting name.

NAME – Joan of Arc
GENDER – Filly
DOB – 04/02/2018
PEDIGREE – Galileo x You’resothrilling

VERDICT – Joan Of Arc is by champion sire Galileo and is the 7th foal of super broodmare Youresothrilling, who is the Group 2 winning daughter of top American Sire Stormcat.
Joan Of Arc’s Siblings include multiple classic winner Gleneagles, Multiple Group 1 winner Happily, classic winner Marvellous along with Group winners Taj Mahal, Coolmore and Irish 2000 Guineas runner up Vatican City.

Joan Of Arc has the name & the pedigree as she is from racing royalty and without a shadow of a doubt before she has even seen a racetrack, will be already considered a leading contender for next years 1000 Guineas.

At the bare minimum we can expect her to become the 7th foal in a row out of You’resothrilling to win a Group race or be Group 1 placed. A very, very exciting prospect.
