Hello and welcome to arseonlinetips. A 100% independent racing blog, with no affiliate links and no fees to pay to read our work… FREE! This website is curated by 2 racing enthusiasts from either end of the British Isles, Charlie hails from Glasgow, while Rich is from the Isle of Wight… Miles apart but united by the sport of kings!

Well yesterday did not go as planned, Charlie had 1 place, while Rich had 2…. We always look forward and not back and this is a gentle reminder to us that nothing is taken for granted and we just have to work a little harder, that said it is a marathon & not a sprint…

Charlie has his Cheltenham Selections while Rich will have the Final Word…..

Charlie –

.Was 2nd here last time out, to Another Hero and has posted best Ratings at this track, without winning since December 2016, has finished 2nd in 3 of the last 5 visits to Cheltenham. Is now on a mark of 146 and has placed 2nd off 152 previously. If settling better today could be the answer in a wide open race with most of the field having questions to answer, Singlefarmpayment has a record of 112252 when completing the course here and looks the one to be on today.

Christmas In April -Won at Warwick over 2m5f back in May this year beating Quiz Master by a nose, before changing yards from Nicky Henderson to Colin Tizzard. Was 3rd last time out here beaten by 2 and 1/4 lengths to First Assignment for new connections. If repeating that here could gain compensation and reward new yard with a welcome winner.

Coneygree…. We have not seen the best of this horse for a couple of years and it has been very sad to see. Last seen being pulled up at Newbury last December in a Grade 3 Chase, looking a shadow of the 2017  version, when finishing just 1 & 1/2 lengths behind Sizing John in the Punchestown Gold Cup back in April of 2017. Has had a wind operation in the hope that this will rekindle the fire… Fingers crossed!

2.25.. Gold Cup Handicap Chase… Grade 3… 2m 4f 44yds…

Mister Whitaker...  Last seasons Close Brother winner over C/D at the festival in March, when beating Rather Be(Makes seasonal return today) . A winner on seasonal return in a Carlisle 2m 4f C1 Listed chase by 2 & 1/4 lengths on November 4th. Course record stands at 2 from 2….

That is everything for you today folks…. Thanks for your continued support.. We really appreciate it…

All the Best – Charlie & Rich
