Curated by 2 racing enthusiasts from either end of the British Isles (Social distancing before it was fashionable) with Charlie hailing from Glasgow while Rich is from the Isle of Wight. Miles apart but united by the sport of NO Spectators…..

Interesting day yesterday with Rich having a 3rd (Darver Star) & Carrolls Milan, a very, very fortunate winner along with a non runner, while for Charlie, Fusil Raffles was pulled up before The Nosey Parker won nicely and his final selection leaf hopper winning as well.
Not a bad day all round, so we thought we would bring you a BONUS Sunday blog…. Which includes a Head to Head at Cheltenham!

Charlie usually leads the way but today we will go Head to Head before we give you the rest of our thoughts….

HEAD TO HEAD….
Cheltenham ( Soft)…
2.25 The Cheltenham Chase – Grade 2 – 1m 8f….

Charlie –

Riders On the Storm – Out of Scorpion and Endless Moments, winner of the Virgin Bet Handicap Chase at Aintree on the 9th November last year beating Cepage by 1 and 3/4 lengths over 2m 3f and 200y. Was sent to Ascot on the 21st December to race in the Betfair Exchange Graduation Chase over 2m 5f and 8y, won again beating On The Blind Side by 7 lengths. It would be February before we saw Riders On The Storm grace a racetrack again in the Betfair Ascot Chase on the 15th February, and Riders on the Storm won again beating Janika by 14 lengths over 2m 5f and 8y. Cheltenham was the venue of Riders On The Storm latest race in March this year when falling in the Ryan Air Chase when looking as though if he stayed up he would have won again. This looks a tougher race on paper and with the going being soft on the Chase course, could turn into a right slog and Riders On The Storm is now a win only selection due to only 4 runners in the field. I wouldn’t put anyone off just skipping this race because of the win only situation due to 4 entries left.

Rich –

Defi Du Seuil – Voix Du Nord x Quarvin Du Seuil 7yo Gelding.
Winner of this race last season when getting the better of Politologue before going on to land the Tingle Creek at Sandown & the Clarence House at Ascot.
Finished 4th to Politoloue in the Queen Mother Champion Chase at the Festival when last seen in March…

We now revert back to normal with Charlie leading the way & Rich having the final word….

Charlie – Southwell

1.45 Poetry And Art – Out of Poet’s Voice and Ashford Belle, has had 2 starts so far and finished 4th on both occasions, the distance beaten on last run at Chelmsford was under 4 lengths and with normal progress should be capable of winning a race soon hopefully today’s the day for that to happen. Biggest threat to the selection comes in the shape of Black Box who has finished 3rd twice from last 3 starts.

.

3.30 Ustath – Out of Exceed and Excel and Adorn – Has had 9 runs on the all-weather and won 2 times, won over 5f at Wolverhampton on the 27th April last year when beating Casarubina by 6 lengths. Won last time out here over 5f on the 3rd November this year when beating Kyllachy Warrior by a neck. If handling the extra yardage today could easily go in again with the biggest threat likely to come from Firsteen who makes fibresand debut for Rebecca Menzies.

Final Word with Rich –

2.10 Morgiana Hurdle – Grade 1 – 2m 40yds….

Abacadabras – Davidoff x Cadoubelle De As 6yo Gelding.
Runner up to Shishking in the Supreme Novice Hurdle at Cheltenham back in March having won the 2m Grade 1 Future Champions Hurdle at Leopardstown in December.
Already had a run this term at Down Royal, when finishing a 4 & 1/2 length runner up in the 2m Grade 2 WKD Hurdle to Aspire Tower.
