Curated by 2 racing enthusiasts from either end of the British Isles (Social distancing before it was fashionable) with Charlie hailing from Glasgow while Rich is from the Isle of Wight. Miles apart but united by the sport of NO Spectators…..
After last weeks Big Arse Blog, we are back to a more relaxed setting of the UK & Irish cards. Although we do have some very tidy racing, with the big NH trainers pitting their wits against each other at this early stage…..
Today is Charlie & Rich but you will see Chris & Jamie return in the near future. Charlie will start proceedings & Rich finish things off…..
Lingfield 1.55 –The Nosey Parker ⭐⭐⭐(NB) – Out of Dream Ahead and Dorothy Parker, was 2nd on race course debut at Kempton on the 28th October, beaten by 2 and 1/2 lengths by Dyami. Will have learned plenty from that outing and can go one place better today in a very winnable race that looks easier on paper. Biggest threat to the selection comes in the shape of Shecando who was 2nd last time out at Chelmsford on the 10th September. Winner
Cheltenham 1.40 – Fusil Raffles 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 (Nap) – Out of Saint Des Saints and Tali Des Obeaux. Has won 6 times from 9 UK career starts, the wins include 4 wins over hurdles and 2 wins over fences. The wins over the larger obstacles have came at Uttoxeter when beating Quick Grabim by 4 lengths on the 25th September over 1m 7f and 214 y. Was then sent to Cheltenham on the 23rd October and won again beating Sir Valentine by 9 and 1/2 lengths over 1m 7f and 199 y. Having already won here before and knows what’s expected, can gain another victory to cement target at Cheltenham come March, biggest danger to the selection comes in the shape of Quel Destin who makes chase debut for Paul Nicholls. Pulled up
Wolverhampton 8.00 – Leafhopper 🌟 🌟 🌟 (3b) – Out of Dark Angel and Layla Jamil. Won first 2 starts for John Gosden at Newmarket and Catterick before a below par performance at Goodwood on bottomless ground. Can gain compensation here in a very open looking race. Biggest threat to the selection comes in the shape of Last Surprise who has won 2 times and placed 2nd from last 3 starts. Winner
