Hello & welcome to Arseonlineracing… This website is 100% Independent & has NO affiliate links. It is curated by 2 racing enthusiasts from either end of the British Isles.
Charlie hails from Glasgow while Rich is from the Isle of Wight, miles apart but united by the sport of kings….

It has been a while since we last posted a blog & I will briefly explain why….
Myself & Charlie decided to have a break after the sad news that Pat Smullen had passed away, in truth, we didn’t know Pat but we both took it quite hard & we didn’t really feel like looking at any cards, let alone blogging….

Charlie will be back for Saturday along with Chris Price, so today I am joined by Jamie as we both tackle the Cambridgeshire Meeting at Newmarket on the Rowley course…
The going is….. Good

1:50 – Tasleet British EBF Rosemary Stakes (Listed) –
Selection: Bizzi Lizzi (E/W)

This is about as competitive a listed contest for the Fillies & Mares as you will find all season long. 1000 Guineas’ second Cloak of Spirit will be on many people’s shortlist back over C+D. However she hasn’t really progressed since then and I will take a chance on the beautifully bred Bizzi Lizzi, who is by Champion Sprinter Muhaarar out of fellow G1 winner Izzi Top. So far the story with Bizzi Lizzi has been slow and steady but she boasts a 2/2 record coming into this race. Bizzi Lizzi will have to up her game markedly here to be in the reckoning having only just landed a novice at Wolverhampton by a head but John Gosden is a master at improving his inexperienced horses from race to race. In an open looking fixture she may be worth an each way play. The assistance of Frankie Dettori is also a boost.

3:35 – Shadwell Joel Stakes (G2) –
Selection: Benbatl

Looking at both the form and ratings it looks to be a head to head between Benbatl and Kameko. Both are very classy and have won over C+D with Kameko having gotten up to land the 2000 Guineas back in June. On this occasion I am going to stick with Benbatl, who I think is a smashing older horse. He’s been a star for Saeed Bin Suroor team over the last few years. The key here could be that Benbatl goes well fresh as we all saw last year when he landed this G2 prize having his first run since the Cox Plate the previous year. With Kameko, I feel that the Guineas is pretty average in my opinion. Pinatubo I felt just needed the run and nothing else bar a few G2 and G3 winners have emerged. Overall, I think the 3YO Colt Crop isn’t a vintage one. Kameko has been running well of late but he needs to bring his A game to mix it with Benbatl here. I’m really looking forward to this match up!

Thanks for popping by & we really apricate your support. A full house of bloggers tomorrow, so remember to keep stakes small or just watch the fantastic racing unfold on the TV….

All the Best – Rich & Jamie
