We are delighted to have @Glen_Colt with us again this week, who is fresh from his holiday in the sun, while Charlie and Rich will have the usual stuff. So lets get the party started…..

Charlie –

1.55 – Class 2 Handicap 5f 89y

Selection – Stone Of Destiny 12-1 E/W

Stone Of Destiny done well to beat Final Venture by a nose at Ascot last time out over 5f in a Class 2 Handicap, has only been raised 2lb for that win and should be on the premises again in this similar race, main dangers come in the shape of the current fav Dakota Gold who is available around 5-1 and is chasing a hat-trick and Jabbarockie who hasn’t been out of the first 3 places in last 6 runs and is available at 20-1 at time of writing. UNPLACED

2.25 – Tattersalls Acomb Stakes

Selection – Ethic 8-1 E/W

Ethic was 2nd on debut at Newbury on the 4th of July when beaten 1 and 1/4 lengths by the Richard Hannon trained Man Of The Night over 6f. Was sent to Salisbury for next race over 6f on the 27th July and Ethic won beating Stoweman by 3/4 of a length. Although Ethic only won by a short distance last time at Salisbury, but that was only 2nd race and will definitely know more from that experience and should at least give the favourite Persuasion something to think about if settling down. UNPLACED

4.50 – Skybet Nursery Class 2 Handicap 6f

Selection – Pop Dancer – 8-1 E/W

Pop Dancer – Has only raced 3 times winning 2 and placing 2nd in the other. Was 2nd on racecourse debut at Pontefract on the 19th July when beaten 2 lengths by Tomfre. Returned to Pontefract 9 days later on the 28th July dropping in distance to 5f, Pop Dancer won beating Queen’s Order by 3/4 of a length. Was sent to Musselburgh on the 9th August to race over 5f 1y and won again beating Makyon by 1 and 1/4 lengths. Although this race is a bit deeper Pop Dancer seems to be progressing with each run and should go close again here. UNPLACED

@Glen_Colt (Jamie) –

2:25 – Tattersalls Acomb Stakes (G2) – Selection: Vitalogy
A typically competitive Acomb Stakes featuring several first-time winners.
Joseph O’Brien’s Vitalogy is one of those having won at Naas. That day he stayed on strongly in the final 100yds, suggesting that the step up in trip will suit him well at this track. It is quite significant that Joseph has decided to bring Vitalogy over on just his second start, so he must be working well at home. He has as good a chance as any in this race. Finished 4th….

3:35 – Juddmonte International Stakes (G1) – Selection: Japan
Deirdre struck gold at Goodwood for Japan and I fancy the country’s namesake to land the feature race on day one of the Ebor Festival. The Ballydoyle three-year-old has progressed very well since running here in the Dante after a rushed preparation. He was my pick for the Derby and I was delighted to see him run so well in third. After that,
an impressive Royal Ascot success and a first G1 win in the Grand Prix de Paris followed. The vibe around Japan is that we haven’t seen the best of him yet and he could be a horse to follow throughout the autumn. I think he can give the favourite Crystal Ocean a lot to think about. WINNER

4:50 – Sky Bet Nursery – Selection: Malvern
The Richard Hannon team are in great form with their 2yos and his charge Malvern should be in the mix here in a puzzling nursery for the punters. Malvern is 2/2 and looks like a horse to me that will relish racing in a big field. He finished off his race strongly at Brighton last time out. The ground is perfect for him too, but he has been drawn in gate 1 so bear that in mind if you’re having a bet. A bold bid is expected however. UNPLACED

Final Word with Rich –

Thanks guys, lets hope it’s a cracking weeks racing and everyone returns safe… Sunday was a good day for myself at Deauville with 3 winners from 4, so let’s see what we have for day one at  York….

1.55 Handicap… Class 2… 5f 89yds…

Jabbarockie… Form over 5f since season return in April reads 1/2/2/1/3/3/2. A winner last time out in a Musselburgh 5f Class 3 Handicap by 4 & 1/2 lengths on August 2nd. Has been raised 7 for the win but retains the 5Lb claimer. Runs from a career high mark of 94 and takes a step up in class… UNPLACED

3.00 Great Voltigeur… Group 2… 3YO Only… 1m 3f 188yds…

This is a very interesting race with the first 2 home in the Gordon Stakes at Goodwood against the unbeaten runner, who is stepping up in class….
Logician… Unbeaten in 3 runs, 2 of them in Class 4 company over 1m 2f and made it 3 from 3 career runs when stepping up in trip to land a Newbury 1m 4f Class 3 Handicap by 4 & 1/2 lengths from an opening handicap mark of 90. The 3rd from that race has since won twice and has been re-assed with a new mark of 101. This is a big step up in class but looks the real deal… WINNER
The DANGERS will come from Nagla Road & Constantinople, who were separated by a head at Goodwood in the Group 3 Gordon Stakes and with 6th winning the Group 3 Geoffery Freer Stakes at Newbury on Saturday….

3.35 International Stakes… Group 1…. 1m 2f 56yds…

Crystal Ocean….The top rated horse in the world at 127. This season has won the Group 3 Gordon Richards Stakes at Sandown, the Group 3 AL Rayyan at Newbury and the Group 1 Prince of Wales Stakes at Ascot before narrowly going down to Enable(Conceding 3lb to the mare) in a stunning battle in the King George IV and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot on July 27th…. RUNNER UP

That is everything for you today… Thanks for popping by & for your support…
