Hello and welcome to arseonlineracing. This website is a 100% independent racing site with NO affiliate links & has been curated by 2 racing enthusiasts from either end of the British Isles. Charlie hails from Glasgow while Rich is from the Isle of Wight… Miles apart but united by the sport of kings….

A week on from the Epsom weekend and after Chantilly on Sunday, we decided to take a few days away to reflect on the weekend and to have some quality time with the family. We are back today with a blog from, surprisingly enough Newmarket & Haydock as the title mentions!!

Charlie has his Saturday Selections while Rich has the Final Word, so lets get cracking…

Charlie –

Newmarket 3.55 Spanish City – Was 2nd here over 7f two starts back, was dropped to 6f last time out at Epsom when finishing 5th behind Watchable. If handling today’s going should be thereabouts in a tricky looking race, main danger comes in the shape of Embour who won last time out and is now 4lb worse off.

Win Advised

.

Newmarket 4.30 Daring Venture – Finished 4th here on debut over 7f back in August last year before being put away for the winter. Made seasonal return at Chelmsford a winning one on the 9th May when beating Molivaliente by 3 lengths. This race looks a bit harder on paper but with normal progression can get involved here if in same mood.

Win Advised

.

Haydock  4.10 Admiralty – Won last time out on seasonal return at Thirsk over 7f beating Danielsflyer by 3/4 of a length. Has gone up 3lbs for that win and has no concerns over today’s conditions, was 2nd on previous two runs at Dundalk prior to that win and looks likely to go well again here. Main dangers come in the shape of Dark Defender who won last time out at Ripon and Camacho Chief who was 5th on seasonal return at Chester.

Win Advised

.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you over to Rich for the Final Word.

Final Word with Rich –

Thanks Charlie, Chantilly was a bit of a let down last Sunday, when I was on my solo mission and it was nice to take a few days away to reflect & comeback refreshed…
I have 2 from Haydock & 2 from Newmarket…

Haydock – Soft….

2.25 Pinnacle Stakes.. Fillies’ Group 3… 1m 3f 175yds….
True Self… Landed 3 on the bounce having finished runner up on flat debut having been run previously over hurdles. The runner up spot at Bellestown  over 1m 6f was quickly followed by a tidy win in a Cork Maiden before taking a Bath Listed race & making it 3 from 4 runs at Newmarket when landing the 1m 2f James Seymour Listed Stakes on final start of 2018. Made seasonal return at Goodwood on May 8th & landed the Class 1 Listed Vintage Tipple Stakes, 1m 6f by 3/4’s of a length…
DANGER…. Klassique… 3 wins in her debut season from 6 runs and finished runner up in the last start of 2018 in a Salisbury Group 3 in October. Started this season like the last when a 1 & 3/4 length runner up in the Daisy Warwick Vlass 1 Listed Stakes at Goodwood on May 4th…..

3.00 Achilles Stakes… Class 1 Listed… 5f….

Intense Romance… C&D winner in a Class 2 Handicap which started a 3 win streak culminating in landing the Rous Stakes 5f at Ascot in October by a neck from Mr Lupton. Well below best when making season return at Naas in a Class 1 Listed 5f on good ground. Best form on Soft/Heavy ground, so the more rain the better….

What a Welcome… Winner of 7 races from 8 starts in 2018 ranging from 1m 2f to 1m 8f and taking steps up in class with ease. Started last season in May over 1m 2f before ending 2018 in October when taking a Class 3 Handicap 1m 8f. Below par run on the All Weather at Kempton, in a 1m 8f Class 2 Handicap but went close last time out at Goodwood when beaten by a nose to the progressive Kings Advice in a 1m 6f Class 2 Handicap on May 25th….

3.20 Novice Stakes… Class 4… 2YO Only… 6f…
