Hello and Welcome to a Special edition of aresonlinetips. A 100% independent racing blog, brought to you by two racing enthusiasts from either end of the British Isles. Charlie hails from Glasgow, while Rich is from the Isle of Wight… Miles apart but united by the sport of kings…

This year the Breeders cup is from Churchill Downs, with it famous twin spires and with Great Britain & Ireland sending such a strong contingent of champion thoroughbreds, Charlie & myself thought we should take a look at the cards for both days in a special blog, so here we are….

Our thoughts and fancies for the Breeders cup races on the Churchill Downs card…

Charlie’s Finding’s

8.00 Newspaperofrecord – Has won 2 from 2 so far including on debut at Saratoga over 1m on 19th August when beating Sister Kitten by 6 and 3/4 lengths. Won again next time out at Belmont Park on the 30th September when landing a Group 2 over 1m beating Varenka by 6 and 1/2 lengths. Trainer has won this race 4 times including 3 of the last 4 renewals.

8.40 Jay Walk -Has won her first 3 races in magnificent fashion beginning with a 7 and 1/2 length demolition of Harley at Parx when jock was only using hands and heels. Next up was a visit to Delaware Park and Jaywalk won again beating Congrats Gal by 1 and 1/2 lengths. Latest victory came at Belmont Park when Jaywalk led from post to post beating Brucia La Terra by some 5 and 3/4 lengths. Steps up in trip from 1m to 1m 110y and if repeating form shown in last 3 races should be bang there at the business end of race.

9.22 Line of Duty -Out of Galileo, Has won twice and placed 2nd twice from 4 starts. Both victory’s have came over 1m to 1m 1f at Goodwood and Chantilly and both 2nd places have came at Sandown and Haydock over 7f in Class 4 company. Trainer won this race in 2013 and is looking to make it 2 with line of duty.

10.05 Complexity -Won both starts to date including debut run at Saratoga when beating Harvey Wallbanger by 4 and 1/4 lengths. Made all next time out at Belmont Park when beating Code Of Honor by 3 lengths to land the 1m Champagne Stakes Grade 1. If repeating that today should be too hot for this field to give trainer another win having landed this race last year.

Well that’s my lot for Friday’s races at Churchill Downs, please remember these won’t count towards profit/loss figures as its only bragging rights that’s on offer,  I will now hand you back over to Rich for his Findings from Churchill Downs.

Archie Watson has his Showcasing colt in fine form and could well be suited by the extra distance as well as having been drawn in stall 2….

The pick of the Aidan O’Brien runners is Sergi Prokofiev, the Scat Daddy colt has been in and out of form this season, although that could well have been due to the bug that hit the yard in mid season. He won last time out in a Newmarket 5f Group 3 on October 12th..
