Welcome to arseonlinetips. A 100% independent racing blog, brought to you from either end of the British Isle. Charlie hails from Glasgow, while Rich is from the Isle of Wight. Miles apart but united by the sport of kings….
How did you find Charlie’s introduction of the Star Ratings? We think it gives a clearer idea of his thoughts regarding his selection, only time will tell….
Too Darn Hot was darn hot again for the field in the Dewhurst and next season is filled with more promise, now just Champions Day & the flat season is over with for the year…. And that brings us nicely to Chepstow and the National Hunt curtain raiser….Charlie has his Sunday Service, while Rich will have the Final Word….
Charlie – Yesterday saw the 🌟 ratings get off to a great start with a 2 🌟🌟 winner and a 2 🌟🌟 2nd place, hopefully that’s the beginning of of things to come and gives a bit more clarity on my selection process.
Mister Chiang 🌟🌟-Was 6-1 when selected last night now it’s as short as 5-2 in places. Although Mister Chiang has only raced twice and is yet to win, has hinted that the win is only a matter of time away. First race was at Salisbury over 1m in a Class 4 in September when finishing 7th. Next race was a bit better performance wise when finishing 2nd to Nate the great by 3 and a 1/2 lengths over 1m 1f at Musselburgh on 30th September. With normal progress and a bit more experience this time around a chance is taken that Mister Chiang will open his account here for trainer M Johnston and with Silvestre De Sousa on board all points to a positive outcome.
Beat That 🌟🌟🌟- Was disappointing on seasonal return at Sandown in February when finishing 14th in a Class 1 Group 3 hurdle over 2m 7f. Was then put away until August when returning to race at Newton Abbot over 3m 2f in a Class 3 novice chase, where Beat that won beating the Colin Tizzard trained Exxaro by 32 lengths. Was then sent to Southwell to race in a Class 4 novice chase over 3m and won again beating Jack’s Last Hope by 4 lengths. Today’s race is a bit deeper but Beat That is in good condition and is on a workable mark and the hat-trick looks likely today with the yard having a winner and a 2nd place at Chepstow yesterday.
Midi 🌟🌟-Is out of Frankel and Midday, Midi made racecourse debut at Newmarket in September last year and finished 13th over 1m in a Class 4 Maiden. Was then rested until August this year when making a winning return at Windsor over 1m 2f in a Class 5 and Midi won beating Petra Star by 1 and 1/4 lengths. Next race was at Newcastle over 1m 2f in another Class 5 race and Midi won again beating Spanish Archer by a head. Latest race came at Ascot over 1m 4f in a Class 2 handicap and Midi finished 6th behind winner and sibling First Eleven. Today’s race is over 1m 3f and 218y and could see Midi back in the winners enclosure if repeating form shown at Windsor and Newcastle.
Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, Good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you back over to Rich for The Final Word.
