Welcome to arseonlinetips. A 100% independent racing blog, brought to you by 2 racing enthusiasts from either end of the British Isles. Charlie hails from Glasgow, while Rich is from the Isle of Wight, miles apart but united by the sport of kings….
As we head into yet another fantastic weekend of racing, we will start to look forward to Longchamp on Sunday and with both Ascot and Newmarket on Saturday with no less than 4 Group races between them plus a couple of Class 1 Listed races, it’s going to be a busy weekend and we may need a lie down after Sunday!
A standard blog today as Charlie has his Selection’s while Rich, will have the Final Word. So we best get cracking or it will be Saturday before we know it!
Charlie – My main selections yesterday were poor, Soiesauvage finished 2nd. Quasar finished 8th. The two notebook horses ran OK with Carry On winning on debut at 2-1 and Duchess Of Bronte finished 7th and will go In the tracker.
Game player -Won last two races over 7f at Lingfield in a Class 5 and at Newmarket in a Class 4. Has a double penalty to carry today and if repeating run from last two races should be in the shake up at business end of race.
Encrypted -Won at Chelmsford over 6f in a Class 2 handicap in August. Was then sent to Doncaster to contest another Class 2 handicap over 6f and finished 2nd, beaten 3/4 of a length by Momentofmadness. Has been raised a further 2lb and could get involved again here with a similar display.
Waitingfortheday -Hasn’t been out of the first 3 places in 5 starts. Won here over 7f in July and although is now 12lb higher has held its form well and could still have more progress to come for J O’Brien.
.well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you back over to Rich for The Final Word.
Rich’s Final Word –
Interesting day yesterday, with two very short priced winners and two finish stone last and to be honest I have no idea why, answers on a postcard please!
Before I get to today’s finding’s, I cannot let another weekend pass without mentioning ITV Racing and the fact that for the second Saturday in a row, it is relegated to ITV4.
Last weekend was for a repeat of X Factor from the Sunday before and this Saturday, with 3 Group 3 races, a Fillies’ Group 1 and 2 Listed races ITV has chosen to re run Jonny English Reborn instead of top class Group racing on it’s main channel! Yes, but on Sunday they are covering the Arc I hear you say, yes they are but so are At the Races, so you have a choice if you have the option and you can let your fingers do the talking….
ITV have done a decent job with most of their coverage, although I think the Jargon Busters should be brought back and less talk of the Melbourne Cup, unless it’s levelled out with Breeders Cup talk! Anyway rant over… Now let’s look at today!
