Hello and welcome to arseonlinetips. A 100% independent racing blog brought to you by two racing enthusiasts from either end of the British Isles, Charlie hails from Glasgow, while Rich is from the Isle of Wight. Miles apart but united by the sport of kings.

Yesterday was another frustrating day, with Charlie very unlucky not to land a winner, while the others misfired. Final Word had a winner, runner up 3rd & 4th, so you could say it had it all!

AS you will be aware by now, we don’t look back…. Always look forward as today is a new day so let’s see what it brings….

Charlie –Cheers Rich, well what happened yesterday was a continuation of last few weeks from last month,  where my selections just didn’t seem to run as expected. Hopefully this is just a blip and normal service will return but it’s still frustrating none the less. Anyway enough about yesterday that’s in the past and today is a new day so let’s have a look at what I found for Tuesday’s races.

2018-10-02-09-15-34

Compatriot -Won a Class 5 novice hurdle at Newton Abbot on the 10th September over 2m 1f beating Rocket Ronnie by a head. Is now 5lbs worse off for that narrow margin victory but if repeating that here could well go in again.

.

San Andreas -Makes debut here for Aidan O’Brien and this Dark Angel colt could make a bold bid here on debut with Donnacha O’Brien doing the steering, has an entry at Dundalk on the 5th of this month and also entered at Newmarket on the 13th of this month, this suggests that it’s quite highly thought of as most new runners only have one or two races at this point in season before being put away for the winter.

.

Avocet -Was in great shape at start of the year for Olly Murphy when wearing cheekpieces winning twice over 1m 4f and 1m 5f at Southwell and Chelmsford. Has now changed yards and is now with Mrs S J Humphrey, ran a poor 6th on debut for new trainer last time out at Chelmsford over 1m 6f. Headgear is refitted today and should prove to be better in this race having a drop in distance to 1m 3f 219y.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you back over to Rich for The Final Word.

Rich’s Final Word –

AS mentioned above, this column had it all yesterday….. What have I noted today?

Naas …. Good to Firm….

3.20 Maiden 2YO Only 7f….

Rakam is a Sea the Stars colt, out of Dam Tarfasha. She was runner up in the 2014 Oaks to Taghrooda, a winner over 7f as a 2YO and also won the Blue Wind & Blanford Stakes. Makes race course debut for trainer Dermot Weld….

Kempton(AW) Standard…

7.15 Maiden Class 5 2YO Only 1m 4f…

Keltie is a Giant’s Causeway filly, who was noted by me on debut on September 22nd. She finished a running on 4th and seemed to get the hang of things late on after being near the back most of the 1m 2f contest at Chelmsford. Up in trip on second start.. Has potential!

8.45 Fillies’ Handicap Class 4 1m…

Augenblick is an Epaulette filly, who was 2 from 2 last season, both runs on AW and over 7f. Has only just made seasonal return on September 14th in a Class 4 7f Sandown fillies’ handicap after 315 days away from the track, finishing 3rd & only 1 & 3/4 lengths behind the winner. Returned to the AW and up an extra furlong…

That is everything for you today folks, thanks for popping by…

All the Best – Charlie & Rich
