Welcome to arseonlinetips. A 100% independent racing blog brought to you by two racing enthusiasts from either end of the British Isles. Charlie hails from Glasgow, while Rich is from the Isle of Wight, miles apart but united by the sport of kings…

After a half decent Saturday it was left to Charlie’s lucky last to salvage something from what was a very underwhelming afternoon…. Now September is out of the way and we look forward soon to the Arc at the weekend and Champions Day before the National Hunt season gets full swing…..

Charlie has his first selections of the new month, while Rich has the Final Word, so let’s get them under starters orders….

Charlie – Cheers Rich I am glad September is over and done with, although it was a profitable month, the amount of horses placing instead of winning cost me big time, let’s hope October is kinder to our profit margins. Anyway that was last month let’s concentrate on here and now. Please find selections for 1st October below.

Bradford Bridge -Fared better last time out although finished 6th at uttoxeter over 2m 7f in a Class 4 handicap. Had pulled up in two previous races prior to that. Should fare better today with that comeback run under the belt and a chance is taken that this 6yr old Milan gelding can get back on track here.

Eachway Advised

Unbridled Spirit -Although still a Maiden after 9 attempts, has ran with some promise in snatches although hasn’t been consistent. Latest race at Chepstow over 1m 2f saw unbridled spirit finish 5th although was only 2 lengths behind winner Macho Mover. If repeating that here that could be enough to shed that Maiden tag.

Win Advised

Parting Clouds -Won at Wolverhampton over 1m 1f in Class 4 handicap in August, returned to Wolverhampton 28 days later and finished 2nd over 1m 1f beaten 1 and 1/2 length by The Throstles. Being out of Street Cry who’s offspring have a decent record on the all-weather and coupled with trainer who’s strike rate here is 38 wins from 161 runners to give a nice 24% success rate all points to a bold run.

Win Advised.

Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you back over to Rich for The Final Word.

Rich’s Final Word –

Thanks Charlie… I’m not quite sure what to think of yesterday, so I think it’s best left that way. A new month is here, so as we always do we will look forward to the new month and there is no better way to start than with a bunch of winners… So let’s see what I have in store for you today……

It’s been a while for me studying National Hunt cards but I had a gander yesterday and have got a couple for you plus one from Kempton(AW) in the evening….

Newton Abbot…. Good.

2.20 Mares’ Novice Hurdle Class 4 2m 167y…..

Fortia is a Nathaniel filly, who makes her 3rd start over hurdles for Emma Lavelle after moving from Dean Ivory and having a wind operation in-between. A debut 4th over 2m 3f in a C5 maiden hurdle at Bangor on August 3rd, some 50 lengths behind the winner. Improved last time out, when at Worcester over 2m in a C5 novice hurdle on September 11th, finishing a close up runner up, only beaten by a neck.

3.25 Novice Hurdle Class 4 2m 5f 122y…

Motueka is a Kings Theatre gelding and his form read 1/2/2. Winning a Uttoxeter C5 2m 6f maiden in July before running a 25 length runner up under a penalty in a C4 Perth novice hurdle on August 1st. Had a minor wind operation before his last run on September 5th. Finished a 1/2 length runner up that day in a Southwell 2m 7f 212y novice hurdle. Champion Jockey Richard Johnson is in the plate today!

Roscommon…. Good.

4.15 Irish Novice Chase Grade 3 Class 1 2m 110y…..

Cadium was an 8 & 1/2 length 5th last time out in a Galway 2m 2f Grade 3 novice chase on August 2nd. The 3rd & 4th have both since won. He is 3 wins from 6 runs in 2018 & 2 of them were over 2m, so the drop back in trip will suit. Paul Townend rides for Willie Mullins…

Kempton(AW) – Standard…..

6.45 Novice Stakes Class 4 2YO Only 1m

Blue Mountain is a Dansili colt, who’s Dam Blue Bunting won the1,000 Guineas and the Irish Oaks. He finished a runner up on debut on September 14th in a Chester C4 novice stakes, beaten by a nose and is sure to come on for that run. Makes AW debut.

That’s everything for you today folks. A big thank you to everyone who has visited our site, over 19,000 views and rising.

We also released our new BIG Interview with Mike Cattermole, so please have a read and feel free to share..

All the Best- Charlie & Rich
