Welcome to arseonlinetips, a 100% Independent racing blog brought to you by 2 racing enthusiast’s from either end of the British Isles or from Glasgow to the Isle of Wight.
Yesterday was a good day for us here at arse HQ, with Final Word landing a couple, Rich’s tracker’s landing another while Charlie took revenge on Rich, when Poet’s Word beat Crystal Ocean to land the King George!
That was yesterday and while we won’t be wallowing in our self glory, we always look forward and not back. A quick pat on the back and we march on to Sunday! A standard blog again with Charlie taking you from the stalls to the 1 furlong pole and Rich having the Final Word and trying to get us into the Winner’s Enclosure again…. The flag is raised, all in and we are off…..
Charlie’s Sunday Selection’s –
.Although hasn’t won as yet ,has ran with some promise in class 6 company of late when finishing 2nd the last 2 runs at Lingfield over 1m 4f in May this year and more recently here at Wolverhampton on the 18th July when was 2nd again over 2m 1f losing by 1/2 length to Something Brewing. Steps back down in distance to 1m 5f and wears blinkers today and that may be an advantage as hung left in later stages of previous race and the blinkers should rectify that.
.Pretty consistent of late if you discount a poor effort at Kempton 3 runs back when finishing 10th over 2m 5f in a Class 3 Handicap Hurdle in February this year. Made Chase debut in next run at Ludlow in May in a Class 3 Novice Chase over 2m 4f and won, beating Sumkindofking by 4 and 1/2 lengths. Was then sent to Worcester to contest a Class 4 Novice Chase over 2m 4f carrying a penalty for previous win and finished 2nd to Jaleo who won by 7 lengths. Goes back into Class 3 Novice Chase today and is taken to go one better here and Henderson has a 28% success rate at this track.
.Although has only won 2 Flat turf races from 15 attempts has also won 3 from 3 on the all-weather and looks interesting here having 3rd attempt in listed company. The previous two runs in listed races at Ascot and Sandown were over 1m 2f where Big Country was 12th and 3rd retrospectively. Steps up in distance to 1m 6f today and wears cheekpieces for 1st time and jock Silvestre De Sousa has a 21% strike rate here and if allowed to dictate could be hard to peg back.
.Has placed 2nd in last 2 races at Chelmsford in a Class 3 Handicap over 5f and Catterick over 6f in a Class 4 handicap. Goes back in a Class 3 today over 6f. Trainer Richard Fahey and jock Tony Hamilton have a 22% strike rate when teaming up together and given yard are doing OK at the moment Requinto Dawn deserves to win in this class and today could be that day.
Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you back over to Rich for The Final Word.
Rich’s Final Word –
Well, well, well what the heck happened yesterday??? Dubai Dominion & Victory Wave both won, while Crystal Ocean was denied.. Sadly Forest Ranger and Elarqam were not up to scratch yesterday but still a very good day especially as Crack On Crack On won for my trackers too….Let’s see what today has in store…. Pontefract & Deauville(France) are what I have for you today, so let’s start at Pontefract…
2.30 Handicap Class 5 1m 4f…. Pentland Hills has been a runner up in the last 2 starts, beaten 2 &1/2 lengths over 1m 2f at Nottingham in a C6 handicap before stepping up to this trip at Leicester on July 7th, only to be runner up again to Surrey Blaze by 1/2 a length and the winner has since won again. Silvester De Sousa is in the saddle today as they look to go one place better….
3.00 Handicap Class 4 1m 2f…. Michele Strogoff has not finished outside the top 3 in all 6 runs so far this season. Runner up last time out in a C6 Amateur handicap on July 6th over 1m and was narrowly beaten on June 22nd in a Redcar C3handicap by a neck. Up in trip and down in class with Silvester De Sousa in the plate….
4.35 Novice Stakes Class 5 3-4YO Only 1m…. Rock Force was a 2 length runner up on race course debut back in April in a 1m 3f maiden and now returns to the track, of the rest in the field Hugo Palmer saddles a Frankel colt, Collide, makes his racecourse debut & could be one to note for the future!
1.35 De Cobeurg Stakes 2YO Only 6f…. There are plenty of UK entries in this race with Kodyanna entered for Richard Fahey, a 2 time 5f winner including last time out on July 12th in a York C3, winning by a short head… Karl Burke sends Comedy, who has won her last two runs including a 6f C5 Fillies’ Novice race with the runner up since winning…. Charlie Hills has Glory Fighter, who has 1 win from 3 runs and was a 7 & 1/2 length 7th in the Norfolk Stakes at Ascot… The last UK raider is Simon Crisford’s Double Kodiac, who won at Maisons- Laffitte on July 15th and that was race course debut…. Who will come out on top? Karl Burke loves a winner in France and his fillies’ form has been boosted but Simon Crisford’s Kodiac is the unknown quandary and could be the pick if handling the experience!
3.20 Prix De Rothschild Group 1 1m…….
Mission Impassible landed the Sandringham(G2) on June 3rd from Crown Walk(in the field) who has won a G3(1m 1f) on July 9th while the 3rd has also since won a G3, Mission was 4th in the French 1,000 guineas and takes on Marco Botti’s Aljazzi, who beat Tribal Act(In field) to land the Duke of Cambridge Stakes(G2) by 3 & 3/4 lengths, with 4th Urban Fox since winning the Pretty Polly(G1) at the Curragh and I cannot see that form being reversed here. It would be no surprise to see Crown Walk reverse the form on Mission as they tend to do that in France a lot but then we have With You, who has been beaten the last 2 runs by Laurens. Beaten by a short head in the Prix Alary(G1) and then 3/4’s of a length in the Prix Diane(G1) so has Group 1 experience and is also a C/D winner, it is going to be a closely matched race and you would expect it to be between With You, Aljazzi, Crown Walk and Mission Impassible… Who wins??? It could go to WITH YOU!
NO trackers today!
Thank you all for visiting our site , we really appreciate your support…
A new Interview will be published tomorrow and all I will say is that it is a trainer, who had a runner in both the Epsom & Irish Derbies this season!
