Well, it’s the end of another working week and we can start to look forward to Royal Ascot next week. As you may have seen, Rich will be taking a break for a few days, from Friday to Monday next week, although he said he was taking a few days off before and didn’t. One thing is for sure, this Sunday, we will release the Final Interview! And we will be joined by a Guest writer for Royal Ascot…..
And in another Exclusive... Rich’s Final Word, will have a horse to follow, from the upcoming Interview, which runs today!
Charlie will kick off Friday, hoping to score another winner after hitting the back of the net yesterday….
Charlie – Yesterday’s Nap Stynes won as expected, my Nb Spice war was a non runner, my 3b Moi Aussie finished 7th,
Magic City -Class 3 handicap winner here over course and distance last month and had several of today’s rivals behind on that occasion. Raised 6lb but is on same mark as last year when racking up a double at Ripon and looks overpriced to me hence the Nap selection, hopefully bookie have made a mistake and we reap the benefits.
Elysee’s -Has only raced on the all-weather at Wolverhampton and won on handicap debut over 1m 4f in April this year was then tried in a Class 5 handicap over 1m 4f at same venue and was a disapointing 7th. Goes up in distance for turf debut and could get involved here if handling the going and distance.
Swendab -Won 3 times at Wolverhampton over the winter although has failed to continue that form in subsequent races since. With only a 2nd place at Wolverhampton to note from last 5 runs and that was over 5f in a Class 6 handicap. Is partnered with Rossa Ryan who takes a handy 5lb off it’s back and that can only be a help here.
Well that’s my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will now hand you over to Rich for The Final Word.
Rich’s Final Word –
Not the greatest week this week, I have no idea why…. I always back my own ability to turn thing’s round… The Nap was disappointing, finishing 4th but will certainly be on my radar next time out, when he tries the distance again! Right enough babble, let’s crack on with today’s findings and the EXCLUSIVE, will soon be revealed!
We will start at Sandown, with another SEA THE STARS runner(No, I hear you cry!) anyway…. Beringer(4.30) is a STS gelding, who finished runner up on his second start of the year over 1m 2f at Newmarket before landing a Leicester, class 4 Handicap on June 4th by 2 lengths and is running under a 6Lb penalty today. He is due to go up another 1Lb after this race….. I know you want the EXCLUSIVE, but you will have to wait as were off to Goodwood before we get to that!
Ship of Fen(7.10) was a 6 length 5th over 1m 2f at Epsom on June 2nd in a Class 2 Handicap but is now DROPPED to a Class 3 Handicap and 1Lb lower than that race. Although going up an extra 2 furlongs in trip!
Back to the day meeting’s and York…. And the EXCLUSIVE!
Reloaded(1.50) is a Excelebration colt, who cost £120,000 and is a half brother to Compatriot and Pour La Famile… Trained by George Scott and is taken from the EXCLUSIVE Interview, to be published on Sunday!
Mafaaheem(2.20) was unplaced on return over 1m and now steps up to 1m 2f. Form over that distance last season reads 2/1/2/2…
And finally…. Arod(4.05) I know Here Comes When is running in this race too, but Arod was flagged on season return when runner up on the AW at Kempton and then won a Windsor Class 1 Listed, for which the 7 year old has a penalty to shoulder. But if he is given an easy lead, he could well land the Granton 1m Listed Stakes. He was a Group 2 winner from 117 and runs from 110……
That is everything today folks, let’s hope it’s a happy Friday for you all….
All the Best – Charlie & Rich
