After what you would call a typical Saturday, we are back with another First/Final Word Special….. What’s Special you ask? Well your have to carry on reading to find out….. But first … Saturday’s housekeeping….

Rich’s Nap – Adamant – Runner up , beaten a neck not a navel!

Charlie’s Results

Beyond The Clouds -Finished 12th and was a loss.

Vintage Clouds – Finished 3rd Advised Eachway at 12-1

William Henry -Finished 4th and was a loss.

First Word – with Charlie!

Ludlow 2.35 –Ut Majeur Aulmes -Although hasn’t won for a while it’s last 5 races read as 22344 coupled with Richard Johnson today and looks well treated on previous form and is overdue winning one of these hopefully today is the day.

Huntingdon 7.30 –Baron Du Plessis – is another one I like although hasn’t won as yet, is nicely bred being related to Sir Du Plessis and Altesse Du Plessis, has placed 3rd twice and 2nd once in last 3 runs, latest 3rd was over 3m 1f 44y at Hereford. Drops in trip considerably to 2m 7f 129y and that could be what is required to gain that Ellusive first win.

I will now pass you over to Rich for his Final Word.

Final Word – Yarmouth

After being disappointed by Adamant on Saturday, I do like the chances of Getabird at Punchestown. I have TWO trackers in the same race at the Festival, with Monalee and Shattered Love running against each other.

I decide to go to Yarmouth instead…. Luchadore(1.50) made her debut on the 7th of this month at Kempton, in a 5f Class 4 Novice Stakes, finishing a 2 & 1/2 length 4th. The runner up has since won and has race experience and fitness on her side up against many unraced Fillies’ in this 5f Maiden.

Frankie Dettori & John Gosden team up at 2.55, Without Parole, a Frankel colt makes season return in a 1m Class 5 Novice Stakes. Having won on debut in the safe hands of Rab Havlin at Newcastle over 1m on December 16th by 6 lengths……

And finally the unbeaten Mordin(4.00) takes to the turf for the first time. A Lingfield(AW) winner on debut by 2 & 1/4 lengths back in December over a mile and made season return a winning one at Kempton(AW) in a 1m Class 5 Novice Stakes by 1 length. Now steps up to 1m 2f and up in class on handicap debut from a mark of 85, looking to make it 3 from 3…..

Our latest Rising Star Interview was released on Sunday, this week we talk to Richard Fahey’s apprentice Seb Woods, so have a read. The Interview series is thriving and we already have the next few lined up and many more on the horizon…..

All the Best – Charlie & Rich
