Sunday started so well, with the first 2 PN Choices winning but sadly meatloaf was for supper for Rich as Charlie landed one to give him a nice return on a Sunday. Sadly NO PN today but Rich will be back with Final Word….
PN Result(Sunday) – Rayvin Black – Unseated jockey at first fence…..
But first Charlie will take you through his Sunday Results and then deliver his Monday Selections….
Cheers Rich, let’s start proceedings with a recap on Sunday’s performance.
Gentleman Jon -Was pulled up and was a loss.
Folsom Blue -Won as expected advised at 13-2 returned at 5-1
Finaghy Ayr -Was 2nd and was another loss.
.Just the one winner from my 3 selections on Sunday, hopefully get a better return from Monday’s selections listed below.
Twotwothree – Was 3rd in a point race on debut and then won next time out by 10 length, makes UK debut and has a 7lb claimer on board in Ross Turner. If repeating that here could easily win again.
Orchid Lilly -Has only raced 3 times and Gosden’s Dansili filly should know more about what’s required now handicapping, coupled with the face that Gosden has a 60% success rate in the last 14 days seeing 3 winners from 5 sent out.
Thair -Last 3 runs here read 212 and that’s a sign of consistency, this race is within capabilities if recent 3/4 length defeat by Now Children hasn’t taken its toll, I’m chancing the win here as I feel last race was just one of those days when a better progressive horse won.
Thats my thoughts on today’s selections, good luck if following, and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will hand you over to Rich for The Final Word.
Final Word –
With Catterick holding an Inspection to see if racing can go ahead, I just had a gander at Plumpton & Wolverhampton…. So let’s start at Plumpton, which was described as Heavy…. The 2.15 Mares’ Novice Hurdle, run over 1m 7f should see Top Weight and last time out winner Kaloci, who drops from Class 3 to Class 4 running under a penalty for a 2 & 1/2 length win at Leicester AND Harmonise, who was challenging for the lead when brought down on Hurdle debut at Ascot and runs from bottom weight….
At 4.20 in the Class 4 Handicap Hurdle, run over 3m, we see hatrick seeking Cheque En Blanc, who has won at Taunton and again under a penalty at Doncaster from Amberjam, raised 4 by the handicapper and it looks as if Trainer Gary Moore, has found a nice opening to land the 3 timer.
In the evening, there is an AW card held at Wolverhampton and at 6.10 runs a Class 2 1m 1f Handicap, in which Star Archer will be hoping to add to the Class 5 C/D novice stakes won on January 15th, having finished 6th to Coronet in the Zetland at Newmarket, where the 5 in front are all either Group or Listed winners, the step up to Class 2 company, should be within reach and is likely to go off a very short odds Favourite.
At the other end of the card is Th’air, who runs in the 8.10, in a Class 4 Handicap over 1m 142y and has 2 runner up spots and a win over C/D. The former Class 1 Listed winner, who was once rated 108, finished just 2 & 3/4 lengths 3rd to Toronado in Doncaster’s Champagne Stakes back in 2012 and is now 8 years old. In that time has been away from the track for over 3 years in total. He was a C/D winner on January 22nd with Oisin Murphy on board, who is back today and was runner up over C/D last time out under a penalty on February 7th, only beaten 3/4’s of length and runs from the same mark of 89.
Thanks for popping by folks and remember only bet what you can afford.
All the Best- Charlie & Rich
