Hello again folks, yes we know we are a bit sporadic with blog post’s at the moment, a bit like the weather and the quality of race cards…. WE will only produce a blog when we are comfortable with our thoughts and selections. WE appreciate your patience and hopefully we will be back up and running, full steam ahead. AS the title suggests, it’s just the PN and Final Word today, so let’s crack on…..

Peoples Nap Choices –

Lingfield(AW) – Standard

12.40 – Handicap – Class 4 – 7f 1y

Pearl Spectre  – Drops to Class 4 Handicap from a mark of 85, Last won in this class at Chelmsford back in November 2017 over 7f from this mark and it was also the mark of the last C/D win back in March 2017, when winning a Class 2 Handicap by 1 length. Has won 3 times from the mark of 85. Has been drawn in Stall 3 and has excellent claimer Nicola Currie on board – 3/1

Newbury – Soft

2.25 – Novice Handicap Chase – Class 1 – 2m 92y

Saint Calvados – French import for trainer Henry Whittingdon, who won on UK chase debut over C/D in a Class 3 Novice Handicap Chase on December 30th, when beating Remiluc by 9 lengths. This race was only 4 horses and only two finished. Raised from 143 to 147 and is top rated – 11/8

3.30 – Mares’ Novice Hurdle – Class 4 – 2m 4f 118y

Lady of Lamanver – Demoted in the Mares’ Class 1Listed Final in April 2016 over C/D and was given a break of 587 days. Returned at Fontwell in November. Winning a Class 3 Novice Hurdle over 2m 3f by 6 lengths. Drops in class – 4/1

PN Result( Monday) – Razin’ Hell – Finished 4th…..

Final Word – With Rich & Charlie

Rich – Just a couple from me today and I will start with the opening race at Lingfield, which is a Class 6 Maiden, run over 1m 4f. Victoria Drummond(12.10) is a Sea the Stars Filly, trained by Mark Johnston, who usually has them ready to go if not a little green and with the help of the very experienced Franny Norton on board, I am hoping for a nice start.

My other is from Market Rasen and runs in a Conditional Jockey’s Class 4 Handicap Hurdle over 2m 2f. Barrys Jack(1.30) Has been Chasing the last 3 runs, but now is back over hurdles after unseating, finishing forth and falling when last seen on December 23rd. That was all after winning on chase debut and seasonal return, before winning a Conditional Jockey’s Handicap Hurdle, with Kaine Wood(who is on board today) by 1/2 a length at Carlisle. Won again, this time in a class 3 Handicap Hurdle before going back Chasing…….

Over to you Charlie –

Cheers Rich, with the weather playing havoc with meetings cancelled and changeable conditions I decided to take a step back from tipping, although I do have a couple of Nicky Henderson’s that caught my eye at Newbury, Percy Street in the opener and OK Corral in the 1.50, Henderson also has two nicely bred debutants in the final race at Newbury Morning Vicar who is a Beneficial gelding out of My Little Vic and Knighthood who is a Delegator Gelding out of Love Roi, well that’s everything and brings today’s post to a conclusion, please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket and if you don’t fancy anything just watch the races and enjoy.

All the Best – Charlie and Rich
