Yep, we unleashed the beast that is Meatloaf again….. Two of the Three PN choices popped into the winner’s enclosure yesterday to give Rich, a very tidy day. So without any more fuss, let’s see what Thursday’s choices are…..
Peoples Nap Choices –
Uttoxeter – Good
2.55 – Novice Hurdle – Class 4 – 1m 7f-168y
Counter Shy – A previous PN choice, who was sadly a NON Runner, so we will try again. 3rd in a NH Flat race to Who’s my Jockey, before a maiden hurdle victory over 2m at Worcester by 2 lengths from Banditry, who has since won – 11/4
Punchestown _ Yield to Soft
4.10 – Grade 3 Chase – 3m 1f
Sub Lieutenant – Won on season return last year before following up by winning a Grade 2 Chase at Down Royal. 3rd to Djakadam, 2nd to Sizing John soon followed in Graded contest. Finished runner up to In De Sceaux in the Ryanair at Cheltenham before another runner up spot to Fox Norton in the Melling at Aintree when last seen in April, seasonal return – 11/4
Carlisle – Soft
4.50 – Novice Chase – Class 3 – 1m 8f
Dubai Angel – In 8 runs , 2 NH flat races & 6 hurdle starts, Dubai Angel is yet to finish out of the First Two home. Won when last seen at Newcastle in a 2m 6f class 2 novice hurdle by 1 & 3/4 lengths. Makes Chase debut – 10/3
PN Result – Jupiter Light – WON – 7/1 – 10p R4 – Was awarded the race in the stewards room, after a close call with runner up. Have won & lost like this in the past, but you will always take the win….
There are your PN choices for a Thursday, now over to Charlie to run you through Thursday’s Thumpers & a wee Re cap of Wednesday’s results. I will see you soon for Final Word –
Cheers Rich, let’s kick things off with a recap on Wednesday’s results :
Hidden Cyclone -Finished 7th and was a loss.
Some Drama – was brought down and was another loss.
Cornborough -Finished 5th and was yet another loss.
.The winning run comes to an abrupt stop, had to happen at some point can’t hit double figure winners everyday. We now move on to Thursday’s selections listed below.
I Just Know -Front runner who was 3rd at Ayr over 3m when last seen, although had won at Doncaster and Catterick prior to that race at Ayr. Makes seasonal return and hopefully it’s a winning one as yard are doing well at the moment.
Navajo Star – Won at Chelmsford last time out over 2m and if in the same mood could easily go in again here despite 6lb weight increase.
Bella Alissa -Has won twice from last 4 runs including last time out at Brighton over 5f. If in same frame of mind could go in again in this similar race off 7lb higher.
Well that’s my thoughts on Thursday’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket. I will hand you over to Rich now for the Final Word.
Final Word –
Where do I start… Fantastic that 2 out of 3 PN Choices won & I will take that all day long, could be quite a busy Thursday, with a UK turf meeting at Brighton, where Sing Out Loud(2.00) will be hoping to add to the win at Lingfield in mid August, having finished runner up here by a neck over 7f & now drops back to 6f.
There are 3 NH meetings, 2 in UK & 1in Ireland, we will start at Carlisle, where Quietly(2.45), who’s last 5 runs were 2,3,U,3,2 will be hoping today is the day to get into the winners enclosure on season return, having finished 2nd last time in April, where the winner has since won 2 out of 3 starts, Dubai Angel is a PN choice….. So we head to Uttoxeter & Knight Destroyer(2.20), who was 2nd on Hurdle debut before finishing again runner up in a recent flat run, looks to break the maiden tag, while PN Choice Counter Shy also runs.
& finally over in Punchestown, Samero(2.05) makes hurdle debut, having finished last season unbeaten on the NH Flat circuit, landing a Navan Listed Bumper in the process. Another to make a debut is Death Duty(3.40) the hot favourite to land the Grade 3 on chase debut, to go with the Grade 1,2 & 3 hurdle titles landed last season. I also think Clara Sorrento(3.10) has a chance in the handicap hurdle having finished runner up on last two starts(Including to Lasgotovegas) after landing a C/D race back in May, while Sub Lieutenatnt is also a PN Choice!
That is your lot today folks, thanks for popping by & soon will be Champions Day at Ascot, although the weather forecast is for a very windy day, so if your heading that way, keep hold of your Hats & betting Slips!
Remember, only bet what you can afford, if not just watch
All the Best – Charlie & Rich
