It is with a heavy heart we write this today, with the tragic passing at Kempton last night, has left everybody stunned & saddened in the racing community. While we all understand the dangers of the industry, it still comes as a shock when an incident happens. Many things were muted on social media, as always happens in these times. The best thing, in hindsight(Oh such a wonderful thing) is just to wait for official word, instead of speculating or taking the word of ONE person… Possibly even check with MORE than ONE & see if the story is correct before saying anything. While this is still very raw, it is probably not the greatest idea to tweet, names of Anyone, who MAY or May NOT be involved! Both myself & Charlie, would like to send our thoughts to everybody affected by this tragic event & we are sure that the racing community will remain strong & united.

PN Result(Saturday) – Thafeera – Unplaced

I will pass you over to Charlie for his Saturday Review, Sunday Selections & Charlie’s Chasers before we close with Final Word –

Cheers Rich, we will kick things off with a recap of Saturday’s Results :

Perseid -Finished 3rd and was a loss

Purcells Bridge -made several mistakes and was eventually pulled up and was a loss.

Monarchs Glen – Won as expected Advised at 6-1 returned at 7-2

.Just the one winner again from my 3 selections ensuring a small profit from singles. Hopefully get better results with Sunday’s Selections listed below.

Charlie’s Selections

Coo Star Sivola -consistent sort who had a rating of 140 over hurdles. Makes chasing debut and if anywhere near the form shown on previous runs at Cheltenham would see him have too much class for this field.

Win Advised

Elgin -Finished in 7th place in the supreme novice hurdle at Cheltenham when last seen, although had placed twice in two Grade 2 races prior to that run. Makes seasonal return off a workable mark and should be in the thick of it at business end of race.

Win Advised

Sizing Granite -Looked a tricky horse to get right since changing yards to Colin Tizzard last year. Although did win last time out in a Handicap Chase at Punchestown over 2m 4f. Makes seasonal debut although is now 11lb higher than that win still looks to have scope for a place here and at a reasonable price of 15-2

Eachway Advised

.well that’s my thoughts on Sunday’s selections, good luck if following and please remember to keep stakes small so it doesn’t hurt your pocket.

Charlie’s Chasers -We return with a look at results from yesterday’s runners highlited in this section.

Notre Ami – 4th

Just A Thought – 2nd

Percy Street – 6th

Nice And Easy – Won

Gamain -3rd

A bit of a mixed bag for the ones that didn’t make selections yesterday with only Nice And Easy being the standout winning by 7 length and looks a really nice horse to keep onside. We now look at what didn’t make selections for Sunday and they are listed below :

Chepstow 2.50 Vision Des Flos – looked a nice sort when winning a bumper at Punchestown over 2m for Robert Tyner was purchased for 270,000 Euros by Colin Tizzard makes hurdles debut and could be one to follow.

Chepstow 3.25 Double Ross -Classy sort who goes well fresh is 1lb lower than when placing 3rd in the Hennessy in November last year. Won this race last season on return and can’t see why he can’t make it 2yr in a row.

Well thats my lot for Sunday good luck with your bets and if going racing today stay safe and spare a thought for the stable staff who generally don’t get the recognition they deserve. I will pass you over to Rich now for the Final word.

Final Word

Yet again the PN fails to fire, but this little segment is awash with winners lately….. Ghaiyyath, US Navy Flag both winning, with Swamp Fox finishing 4th in the Cesarewitch yesterday too…. Here are the best of the rest from Goodwood….

Maypole(2.25) makes debut today, the Mayson colt is half brother to Enact(6f Winner) & could be one for next season, while Travelcard(3.10) will be looking to improve on his 3rd to Daddy’s Girl last time out at Salisbury, who has won a Nottingham nursery.

That is all we have today folks, remember if you cannot afford to bet just watch.

Once again, we would like to pass on our condolences to everyone affected by the tragic events at Kempton last night, if anyone needs help or support during these difficult times please contact Racing Welfare on 0800 6300 443 they are open 24hrs a day.

All the best Charlie and Rich…
