At last…. The PN delivered…… About time I hear you say…. Tell me about it folks….. I will happily take a 10/1 winner though… Thank you Prestbury Park, although Zenon only placed 3rd with split stakes…. Get’s me back on a even keel now….. Let’s crack on-

Over to Charlie for his selections after his day off on Sunday –
Cheers Rich, before we get down to Monday’s Selections,I only thought it fair to congratulate Rich on soldiering on this past week even though he has been ill, and to make it all the more remarkable the People’s Nap returned to form in some style with a split stake 10-1 winner. We do put in a lot of effort and it’s nice when it pays off. Anyway onwards we roll and my Selections for Monday are listed below.
Snap Shots -Has been in the mix last two reruns of this race, a narrow 2nd off same mark in 2015, before winning off 3lbs lower in 2016. Hood fitted to usual cheekpieces and another bold run can’t be ruled out.
lightening Dance -Was a fair 2nd on debut here back in May over 1m 1f. Won next time out at Goodwood again over 1m 1f. Then was sent to Windsor and placed 2nd again over 1m 1f , upped in trip here to 1m 4f 5y and should still be involved come the business end of race with Jim Crowley doing the steering.
Pretty Obvious – Has modest form at best including last 3 races on the flat where he was well held off large prices. Makes handicap debut here and a return to 1m 2f is likely to suit, wouldn’t be surprised by a bold show in this race where most are struggling for form with only Funky Footsteps to worry about.
Well that’s my selections for Monday out the way I will pass you back over to Rich for his final word.
Rich’s Final Thought –
Wow, in shock that the PN won, especially after it drifted out to 10/1 , so you have to be happy with that, although it was split stakes I will take that all day long. Not much to report really…. I will be on the Funky Double at Windsor in the evening – Funkyfootsteps(5.45) & Chunky Funky Monkey(7.45) as I do like a good namesake, there is also Richard Strauss(2.05), who runs during the day at Cork!
I go back to work(Monday) after being struck with a virus, which yielded a secondary infection, so been off since Tuesday & been on antibiotics, so I am feeling like 80% back to normal, which is good for me but my sarcasm is returning & won’t be good for my work colleagues or anyone else for that matter! Anyway enough about me!
Just don’t make the same mistake as Olivier Peslier, who ended up with a Ticket to Ryde instead of at Portsmouth International… Least I can boast I had a winner at Sandown…… Pier pitch n putt!
