The Peoples Nap failed to land a blow at Nottingham, with Rainbow Orse unplaced, I think it went in search for the pot of gold & is still looking! Undeterred we go again –
Peoples Nap Choices –
Goodwood – Soft, heavy in places
3.35 – King George Stakes – Group 2 Class 1 – 5f
Profitable – Having won 3 Group races last term – Palace House(Group3) Temple Stakes(Group2) & Kings Stand(Group1) all on soft or Good to soft ground, returned a gallant 2nd to Lady Aurelio at Ascot – 5/2
Newmarket – Good to Soft
7.00 – Handicap – Class 3 – 1m 2f
Game Starter – 2nd on race course debut on good to soft over7f by 1 & 1/2 lengths in a Redcar class 5 maiden. Won on season return over 1m in a class 4 maiden at this course, up in trip, handicap debut & wears 1st time cheek pieces – 7/4
7.30 – Handicap – Class 4 – 7f
My Dad Syd – Has run well this term without getting his head in front, 3rd to Meshardal by 3/4’s of a length in a class 4 6f handicap at York, before a step up to 7f last time resulted in a 1/2 length defeat in 2nd place to Cricklewood Green, also in a class 4 handicap – 4/1
Over to Charlie for his thoughts –
Well Thursday didn’t go to plan with all 3 of my selections losing, meaning no profit on Thursday unfortunately. I won’t dwell on it as there will be more chances for Profit in the coming weeks. Anyway enough about yesterday let’s get onto Friday’s selections listed below.
Tsundoku – Won at Uttoxeter over hurdles on the 11th July over 2m 3f. Then won at Chepstow on the 28th July over 2m on the flat. Faster ground shouldn’t be an issue and has been raised 6lbs for recent wins but remains on a workable mark.
Green Panda – Won at Ballinrobe over 1m 1f on the 27th June, then had an unlucky 3rd at Bellewston on the 7th July off 12lbs higher. Conditions to suit and can gain compensation here if overcoming poor draw.
Culloden – Has won last two races from the front and has only been raised 1lb for latest win and can go in again here.
Rich’s Final Word –
This part of the blog provided a nice 8/1 winner yesterday. It’s nice to talk about what happened the previous day, Winter ran a good race, stepping up in trip nicely. I did see a few tweets saying she did it regardless of Ryan Group Winner Moore, I think that is a little harsh on him, granted his not been in tip top form, but still a touch harsh considering he’s not strong enough!!
Anyway were all looking forward to Saturday & the re return of the recently unretired Hayley Turner(Not!) So Rich what do you have for Friday I hear nobody say….. Well….
Goodwood’s opening race(1.50) is a nice Group 3 contest, which could see Lord Yeats step up after winning a listed class 1 contest last time to be a Group Winner, acts on the ground & could run away with it. While 3.00 has a couple of Godolphin runners, who have soft ground form in the shape of GK Chesterton & Blair House. Away from Goodwood, Godolphin have a runner at Thirsk, where trainer S.Bin Suroor has a 42% SR with 5 wins from 12 runs, entered Creek Walk at 5.00. Let’s hope some of this information is useful….. Cowabunga dudes……
